Yeah, but the laptop isn't what is broadcasting the IP. The network he is on is.

 

For example, if I go over to Robb and Elissa's with my laptop and use their WiFi, my post on TPR will display the same IP as Robb and Elissa. It's network unique, not computer unique.

 

So realistically, if he was in the hospital, he'd be broadcasting the IP of the hospital's network or the network of a mobile service like AT&T Wireless or Verizon.

 

His IP has remained exactly from before his hospital stay and on.

I don't believe that story. It was pretty entertaining, but I don't buy it. If a thief really did steal your laptop, they wouldn't vote for Wes, but probably post porn, spam, etc.

I think the whole this is strange. When someone got hacked into my myspace account, they posted porn like there was no tomarrow. So why would someone go onto TPR with an account they created and decide to go on a random thread and randomly choose Wes in the poll. Plus, I doubt they would go through the whole process of creating a new account and choose their screen name as Seawoldfan, doesn't sound very manly and tough if a robber. If someone got a hold of your computer there are a lot more stuff to find out and look at than TPR. And Wes has some very good evidence. I think Wes should find out which IP address his last post came from and compare it to the one seaworldfan posted from.

Every single one of Kraken's 2691 posts resolves to the same exact place.

Basically, he has always posted using the same internet provider and service. So unless he has some magic WiFi router that gets unheard of signal, he's never posted anywhere but from his home in the entire time he's posted here. Stuff like this:

I dunno, if I were a computer thief, the first thing I'd do would be to find out what forums the owner of the laptop reads, create a bunch of clone accounts on the geekiest one (i.e. TPR), then vote for the same guy that the laptop owner voted for in some random survivor game on the appropriately-named random thread. I mean, I hypothetically stole the poor kid's laptop - it's the least I can do to pad the vote in a game he already got kicked off of. Thieves have hearts too, you know! And it's not like that'd be a colossal waste of time, or anything.

 

Besides, what kind of thief would steal a laptop just to pawn it for drugs or money? Or to actually use it for his own benefit? That's just crazy talk.

If they broke into your house and messed with, then stole your computer, why didn't they steal everything and then do everything later, instead of taking their time at your house going on the internet and messing with your accounts?

 

And after going over all of the evidence Wes has uncovered, Kraken could be a lonely, geeky, 50 year-old, coaster loving, pedifile hoping to score with some lonely, geeky, 10 year-old, coasterloving little boys.

Well....if he's anything like me when I lied about having an injury over the internet...(not going further into detail...and no it wasn't on this site) then he's some 12 year old kid posing as a 14-15 year old....but he is pretty mature for IF he was 12...I'd say he tells the truth about his age but basically lies alot....pathological liar....? I was once a pathological liar too, and I still lie sometimes....but I try not to...last time I lied was....I don't know 3-4 weeks ago...ehhh...something like that.... Anyways...so are you guys deleting his account? I don't think you should because I enjoy his parks....but this is all a little iffy...

This whole thing is just dissapointing. I really love the community feeling that TPR has (so much more then other places I post), and things like this really just bring it down.

^ I hear ya...It's one thing to be stupid and register a screen name to eff with the votes, but it's really creeping me out that this kid potentially lied about getting into a car crash and his subsequent injuries. Well if your goal was to seek attention, then you've achieved success.

 

The way I see it, you have some choices to make.

 

One, you can stick to your 'story' (about break-ins and whatever) and face the Wrath from TPR members whom have read through this thread.

Two, Confess!!! And still face the Wrath from TPR members, except you can take some solace that you came clean. Plus many people (though not all) would probably overlook this error in judgement of your behalf, if you just apologized and admitted the truth.

 

Lets face it, you have almost 2700 posts on this site, you obviously like it here. Under the TOS your account could be stamped with the infamous Bantron. Which unlike this thread, you'll actually be dead...........for good.

 

Here's hoping you make the best choice.

I just thought about something - the moral of the book And Then There Were None is about NOT lying. All ten of the people in the book lied about not murdering someone that they did (directly or indirectly).
