krazekiddd
From my grandparents house I can see the beach and I am goign to take pics of it coming in then going back to my place 2 miles inland. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard! Have you ever been through a hurricane? Things can change so fast and not to mention micro-burts and tornadoes. You are going to be one of those people that get killed by flying debree. Here's to a future Darwin Award recipient!
alpengeist04
At this point, I'm really not concerned about Hanna. Living in Winter Haven, it will probably be about the same for us as it was with Fay. ...Steady to moderate rain and 30 mph winds. Now Ike is the one to keep an eye on. Ccron10
When Hanna hits Myrtle Beach, SC I will be here to witness it. I will be taking photos and videos to show yall after it is over. I am going to go to beach when it makes landfall to see it come in. YAY me. Good luck to me yall. There WON'T be any beach! Ever hear of a little thing we call Storm Surge? NO luckly got spared the worst of Gustav. If it was a couple of miles closer, the Industrial Canal would've been swamped.
sccoasterfan
Well If I die I will die having fun. It doesnt even look like it is going to hit Myrtle Beach head on now anyway.
Kalepi_Konei
Dude your a complete idiot if you do that. And on the subject of another storm Josephine is now out there, that's my main concern it's got ALOT of water to cover which means BIG power when it gets to land. terrancew_hod
Well If I die I will die being an idiot. It doesnt even look like it is going to hit Myrtle Beach head on now anyway. Fixed. You don't want to be on the beach when you see several feet of water come crashing in: To be totally honest, your big butt won't be able to outrace this thing coming in, so stay home and away from the beach! krazekiddd
^Hahahahaha. That's the exact reason why we MISSED you on the East Coast trip!
terrancew_hod
^Well I'll be on parole from my exercise program in October; I need to use my Universal Pass! We can always get the gang together for another gathering like the one last year! But back on getting Miss "I'm going to be stupid and run out in the storm and hurt myself"... I hope that picture gets through to him that you don't want to be near the coast when a storm surge comes in. It won't be just water you'll have to deal with. Debris and possibly downed power lines are hazards you want to avoid. Go inland and be safe to ride a coaster another day! Terry
stingrock23
I made it back to the area after going to Tallahassee for a few days. My house has power, cable, internet, and no damage to it. We did get a bit lucky that the storm didn't get much stronger in the gulf, but it was good to see that the levees held. Hopefully these storms still out there don't come this way. BeemerBoy
Well If I die I will die having fun. Well, since you're a coaster fan, may I suggest jumping off a 30 story building? I hear you get great airtime that way.....better than any hyper or giga on earth. Just be sure to get us a POV!
spaceace12
The remnants of Gustav outer rain bands are producing scattered storms here in Western Indiana. The former storm itself is in Mo.
terrancew_hod
Well, I'm guessing life slowly returns to normal in the Big Easy. I just got an email from one of the gay bars down there telling everyone they're reopening tomorrow at 5pm. You know the gays need their cocktails! What I want to know is how I ended up on their mailing list. I haven't even been down there since 1996! Terry
kraken613
Well Ike is a major Hurricane at 115. Its expected to be a 4 by tomorrow. It sure did blow up! Its expected to go between Cuba and Florida or hit southern Florida then go into the Gulf. Sounds similar to the track Katrina took. It went right over south FL. spaceace12
Atleast they know they can get most everyone out of New Orleans in basically 2 days. Hopefully Gustav got them enough practice.
coasterdude5
Ike's too far out. It could go anywhere at this point. (at least I hope so) EDIT: Disregard that, I didn't realize how close it was.
kraken613
Yeah its going to effect the states! This just means my Dad will have more work! Disasters mean work for him. He's a Disaster Insurance Adjuster.

sccoasterfan
If it evern looks like IKE is going to hit South Carolina I am leaving Myrtle Beach. There is no way I am staying for that monster. But I will be on the beach taking pics tomorrrow morning of the 20 foot waves coming in. They say it wont make landfall till Tomorrow night but It is coming str8 towards us. I will be safe taking pics from my grandparents house but before the storm hits I am going to my place inland. I do not care to drown.
krazekiddd
^Please, for my own happiness, will you please just stand in the water? Seriously, all freaking night. On to other news, working in the timeshare industry is not fun these days. We have 15 resorts up and down the east coast between Miami and Myrtle Beach. Our call center is being swamped with calls and I'm in the middle of helping senior management with implementing disaster recovery plans for several resorts, not to mention, our corporate office. I really feel bad for our call center! They've recevied about 200% more calls today from people wanting to cancel their trips. To bad they will lose their week for the year. Vacation Insurance people, be prepared! [/rant]
Kalepi_Konei
Crap, Hannah's turning a little bit closer to Florida then they expected if it turns any more there's going to be no school tommorow (busses can't handle over 40 MPH in wind.) And as for Ike it's sustaining at a category 4 hurricane. Though its starting to fluxuate, I REALLY hope this dies down AND FAST because again whoever it hits is screwed. Jumboshrmp
Too many storms right now... I have no idea which ones going to come first. I need to go read the storm updates. krazekiddd
^Take that track with a grain of salt. Its basically an average of 12 computer models. I'd give it until Sunday until we all start planning our funerals.
HEADCHEEZ
Does anyone know if Astroworldfan1 is still here? I haven't seen him log on since Gustav. I'm starting to worry.
