dr.gumbo Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 Prepare to embark on a journey ... a journey you'll never forget ... glide through the meadows, soar over trees and reach beyond the clouds .... let you imagination run wild in the 'Flyer'. This is my first official ride since Christmas and I believe my NL skills have improved vastly over the months. The ride itslef isn't perfect but I'm still proud of it and I hope you enjoy it. Special thanks go to: -Tanks4me - Testing it out and telling me where I could improve -KPWoCkAxX - Making the logo in the waterfall. -TPR users - For giving me advice and telling me 'it looks good' a lot. All 3ds were made by myself using pre-made textures. Enjoy! -------------------------------------- (I know that this thing has evacuation problems but such things were un-avoidable due to what I had in mind and NL limitations) -------------------------------------- _Flyer_ (DR-CZ) .nlpack Flyer AD.wmv
KPWoCkAxX Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 ^^ Thanks for the credit, And don't worry we will hold it against you Also love the small print in the Coming soon poster! Can't wait to see this ride completed!
KPWoCkAxX Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Here's the thing dr.gumbo. I imagine evrything you say in the voice of Scruffy, The character in your avatar. It's really odd I think. But once again, Can't wait to see this coaster when it's finished!
jason10 Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 I'm liking what I'm seeing! I love how the terrain and the ride just slot into place!
Team Thriller Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 This will be very hard to pull of. There is so much hype on your Nolimit coasters. So far, I think you'll live up to it. --James
dr.gumbo Posted August 19, 2008 Author Posted August 19, 2008 ^ Wow, I didn't know I was so highly regarded. I hope I meet expectations with this. Well, heres a photo of the half-loop (unsupported)
DBru Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Hmm, I'm having a problem with that lift... Since the track is upside down going up, then an evacuation would be nearly impossible. Remember, Vekoma's *lay down* into the flying position, they don't lift up (like B&Ms). Other than that, looking good!
jarmor Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Other than the lift that was just mention I like the drop out of the station
dr.gumbo Posted August 20, 2008 Author Posted August 20, 2008 Hmm, I'm having a problem with that lift... Since the track is upside down going up, then an evacuation would be nearly impossible. Remember, Vekoma's *lay down* into the flying position, they don't lift up (like B&Ms). Other than that, looking good! I knew someone would mention that sooner or later. I had no intention of making the lift face upwards mainly because it removed the feeling of flight. Just imagine that it can fold up both ways if it bothers you.

I don't really bother for, since the B&M fler isn't available in NL
DBru Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 ^Actually, I didn't catch that. I was just pointing out what I saw...LOL
dr.gumbo Posted August 21, 2008 Author Posted August 21, 2008 Nearly done now, all I have to do is finish whats left of the supports, add a few 3ds and a custom station.
Kalepi_Konei Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 This looks so freaking sweet reminds me of a Nemisis sorta thing with how its in the hills.
Team Thriller Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 ^ And how the drop isn't long. It kinda just picks up speed. --James
Loefet Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 You probably should lower that roof a bit, to make it a bit more proportional. Other then that, I must say it looks pretty good for an AHG track.
dr.gumbo Posted August 21, 2008 Author Posted August 21, 2008 ^ I've already packaged the ride but I'll fiddle around with it and see if it looks any better. EDIT: Done it!
AlmereStars Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 okay here we go! + Custom supports / 3d's + it's really flying, instead of laying on your back + smooth as a baby's bottom - the pace, it takes some turns quite slow. but i'm a pace freak, so that could just be me - short lay-out really good coaster, with nice custom stuff (station looks cool). But I'm dissapointed that it's quite short
