SharkTums
Baby's first rollercoasterBy JENNY EAGLE Published: 08 May 2008 ALTON Towers theme park plans to build a rollercoaster for babies. The ride - called the Babycoaster - comes with teddy bear-shaped carriages and travels at 2mph, designed to replicate the motion of being pushed in a pram. Codenamed PROJECT GIANT GURGLE, it was revealed by theme park chiefs today after designers put together the finishing touches. The ride is for babies over the age of six months, is 60 metres long, and each circuit takes 67 seconds to complete. Bosses at Alton Towers, Staffordshire, which attracted more than 2.4million visitors last year, said the new ride is perfect for parents who want to give their little ones a treat. Morwenna Angove, Sales and Marketing Director for the Alton Towers Resort, said: As the UK’s No 1, we are constantly evaluating a whole host of ride and attraction concepts to complement the fantastic combination of experiences already available at the Alton Towers Resort. Project ’Giant Gurgle’ is the latest concept to be considered and would fit perfectly amongst attractions already aimed at our younger guests, such as the Driving School and Heave Ho. The Heave Ho is a rocking boat ride and Driving School teaches kids under the age of 10 the rules of the road as they drive around a circuit in mini-cars. Mum-of-three Rachel Sutherland, 32, said: My little one will love it. It’s the first ride I’ve ever heard of that is just for babies. Alton Towers, home to Nemesis, Europe’s first inverted rollercoaster and Oblivion, the world’s first vertical drop rollercoaster, opened in 1980. Ok, so this is obviously some sort of joke, or bad rumor, but it's too funny not to post! I hope that you have to be under 3 or accompanied by someone under 3 and I will pay for KidTums' college by whoring her out!

downunder
I have visions of credit whores dressed as babies trying to get the credit. ^^^^Elissa, when KT is big enough to ride must have a kid coasters, you'll probably make enough money to send her to Harvard Medical or Law School from all us credit whores. alpengeist04
There's no way that's a roller coaster, and if it is considered a coaster, then so is The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride at IOA.
niiicolaaah
LOL!!! "Project Giant Gurgle" !!!!!! Elissa, I will pay you 50 pence (half a pound? How do you Brits say that?) to ride with KT. I have some left over from the last UK trip! That's like a dollar US!

natatomic
Awww, I opened up this thread thinking there was going to be some sort of update for Kidtums' next "coaster" (you know, "Baby Tatsu" style). Instead it's an actual Coaster. For. Babies. Man, what a let down.
ebl
Maybe they could call it "My First Credit." Eric
downunder
That will be awesome if KT is still young enough to go on this one the next time R & E are at Alton Towers, she'll have a credit mom and dad will never have. Maybe she can do her first POV video.
TheRapidsNerd
So do you get gram crackers at the end or what?
larrygator
^I didn't actually edit that post just hit the wrong button, trying to make a quote. Sorry about that. I was going to make a joke about how small a "gram" cracker would be, but I did it wrong.
TheRapidsNerd
^Larry, no worries, but thanks. You know, I thought I spelled it wrong (grahm), but was shooting for graham (MS word spell check). I picked the wrong "correct" spelling in TPR's spell check. Oops! Should've said zwieback in the first place. (chuckling)
