Groteslurf
Unlike last year, when we included Mirabilandia in our schedule, we (my oldest daughter and I) decided this year to stay near the Gardalake and only visit Gardaland & Movieland Studios. More TR parts to follow later on. The exit of I Corsari must be the one thing at the park they forgot to theme. I Corsari : inside there is one of the most amazing darkrides in Europe. Gardaland's lockers policy. Why didn't SFMM think about this. Sequoia Adventure shot : this must be one the most pointless coasters ever. Airtime hills. My arm got stretched in the meantime. Dare I say it ? It's actually my favorite coaster in Gardaland. The amazing Ortobruco Tour coaster. Some of the flat rides. ^ Coca Cola cooling station. La Valle del Re : an average darkride. Most of the time it feels like a simulator ride. In the building, there is a great 4D ride. Time Voyagers. Magic Mountain and Sequoia Adventure. Blue Tornado : Gardaland's SLC Fuga and the Jungle Rapids. ^ Mammut taken on the Flying Island. Mammut has 3 lifthills. ^ The rides is very average though. Well themed as everything in Gardaland. Next up : Mammut Splash. Good thing (imo) is that you don't get very wet. ^ ^ It's a great ride. Fuga really has impressive theming. Us on Fuga. As you can see I don't have very long arms. First attraction of the trip : Fuga Da Atlantide. ^ My daughther couldn't resist. ^ ^ Gardaland entrance This day was a normal weekday and although I feared the worse at the entrance, there were only light crowds in the park. Except for Mammut, all rides were walk ons. On Wednesday we decided to visit Gardaland. The view right in front of our hotel. We stayed in a hotel in Peschiera del Garda. at about 3 kms from Gardaland and 7 from Movieland. These were our wheels in Italy : a Fiat Panda. My daughter called it 'our rollerskate'. After getting stuck in traffic jams near Brussels for 90 minutes, we arrived at the gate when boarding just started. As we checked in online we got a free priority pass and although we arrived at the gate only 25 minutes before take off, we still could board before the other 90 % of the passengers. This was one of the 2 times we got a 'fast pass' during this themepark holiday. The 2nd one was on our flight back.

Groteslurf
Gardaland Part 2 Gardaland Part 3 to follow later today. ^ ^ ^ ^ Some more Fuga theming. Halloween knight ^ This show was quite entertaining. Knight show. Random flat ride There are a lot of these things. Carrousel Kiddie free fall tower. Fantasy Kingdom. In this tree there is a mad house to be found. Better again. See what I mean ? Tunga : I guess that's Tarzan in Italian. I'm getting better in this. Tunga boatride Gardaland's people mover. My daughter was happy though after hugging one of the iceskating characters. Especially not when male dancers are wearing pink. Next was an iceskating show. I'm not really into watching dancing iceskaters. ^ ^ The show was ok but nothing special. We had to pay euro 4 per person to attend this show. I was so flappergasted that we had to pay to get in, that I .... just paid. Due to the light crowds, we had sufficient time for some shows. First show we attended was Palablu (which in our language is umbrella in Chinese).

Groteslurf
Gardaland part 3 Tomorrow Movieland Studios TR ^ This is for sure one of the nicest places to eat that I know. In the evening we went for dinner to the centre of Peschiera. Flying Island & Space Vertigo from a distance. Last attraction of the day. At the same probably the worst attraction I did in the past years. It's a mix of a simulator and 3d movie but it is really very bad. Btw, there are different movies playing. This time we saw some kind of ice monster truck movie. random theming. ^ ^ ^ I told you there are lots of these. Bonus helix fun Blue Tornado Ice cream while watching Blue Tornado Bonus helix stuff ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ Jungle Rapids ^ Blue Tornado

Groteslurf
Thanks everyone.  Have you been to the waterpark or was it still closed?  It was a pitty that it only opens end this month. On Friday temperature was nearing 30°C so it would have great to spend that day in the waterpark.  Boy, if you're used to all this theming...Kings Island will be a smack in the face! Haha!  Probably, although I'm warned not to expect too much by all the TR's here But don't worry, coasters are the most important in 2 weeks Btw, we still to see how we will meet up in 2 weeks. I will pm you later this week.  I didn't notice the levitating dolphin trainer until you guys mention it. That's a 'lucky' shot  I'll try to post at least part 1 of Movieland Studios tonight. Steffen_Dk
I miss Gardaland And why was Fuga broken when I was there? That's just unfair, cause the theming is fantastic.. Seriously; it must be one of the best themed rides in the world.
matteocrepaldi
^ I really like Fuga too even if it gets a little bit boring at the end. Â Â I can't wait to see the Movieland TR!

Groteslurf
^We stayed at the Hotel Al Fiori. (link). Â It is a good hotel : quite but situated excellent at 10 minutes walking from Peschiera centre, 5 minutes walking from the beach, and only short drives from the 2 parks. Very friendly people. Rooms are average although the bathrooms could use a renovation. Also important is the huge hotelparking. Breakfast is just ok, not more than that. Groteslurf
Movieland Studios  On Thursday we decided to visit Movieland Studios. Movieland Studios is one part of the Canevaworld Resort. The other 3 parts are the waterpark Aquaparadise (which was still closed), Medieval Times (a knight dinner show) and Rock Star Restaurant (an all you can eat buffet restaurant). TR's of these last 2 will follow after Movieland.  So Movieland : this is a special park. It's small, it doesn't have a lot of attractions, there is only one kiddie coaster but despite all this, I (and so did my daughter) like this park better than Gardaland. And we loved Gardaland already. Probably it's because of the number of 'actors' in the park and because of their many one-of-a-kind attractions. I only wonder how they do manage to have all the brands in their park. To name only a few : Peter Pan, Alladin, Tomb Raider, Rambo, Back to the future, Batman, Zorro, Terminator, Jack Sparrow, Freddie Krueger and so on. Anyway, Movieland was the surpise on our trip last year and I still very much love this small park. On to the pics. Tomorrow evening part 2 ^ ^ We were invited by the high school actors for a ride on their quads. Entrance of the big stadium This was welcome. Batman High school actors The Dukes' car. I love to take pics of this tower. Practicing again. First attraction : Magma. Magma is becoming Magma 2 this year and the main attraction is still under construction. Other parks would close the attraction till it's finished. Not so in Movieland : an alternative route has been set up between the park and the waterpark (in stead of the back of the park where the main attraction of Magma is). This alternative route was still great fun. Overview. Terminator joined too. So did some High school actors. Zorro joined Opening show on mainstreet. Hollywood Tower Another view on the slide tower of Aquaparadise. Terminator 2 : 5D Mainstreet overview Horror House : the best maze I've ever been in so far. There's the other half. Hollywood Tower with some theming. Waiting for the park to open with a Blues Brother in the back. Hollywood Tower Entrance Movieland ^ Some of the waterpark rides. Aquaparadise entrance Overview of the Canevaworld resort.

Groteslurf
Movieland Studios part 2 Tomorrow last part Movieland + Medieval Times + Rockstar Restaurant Magma trucks. Peter Pan stage Alladin didn't like the Gardaland hat my daughers was wearing. ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ I don't like to ride these type of attraction but it's great to watch it working. Choices ^ What Kings can't do, Movieland is doing without any problem. While my daughter did the Scary House twice, I had time to take some pics of Tomb Raider Machine. Together with the Scooby Doo crew, the kids wander through the maze searching for Scooby Doo. Unfortunately it was a kids only attraction. Grrrr. My daughter loved this attraction. During lunchbreak of Freddie Krueger, Jason, etc, the Horror House can be entered by the kids and it is then called Scary House. The Zorro horse. the Zorro show was playing. while in the back ... Time for lunch .... ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ The best show in the park. Next show : Indiana Jones ^ It was an ok show. We found a spot on the front row. Time for the Blues Brothers show. In one of the shops you can buy this cool jacket. I'm sure if I wear this here on the street, I will have problems. Cast members ? The coaster of the park. Back to the future ride. It's blue. The poncho comes in handy on the logflume right beyond the corner too. A poncho is recommended. Great ops btw. One of the best attractions in Movieland is the submarine attraction U-571. First you enter a bunker with a submarine in the water in in it. Suddenly an air-attack is simulated. You then have to enter the submarine and take place at one of the sides in the submarine. The submarine gets hit by bombs and water is leaking into the submarine. I really love this attraction.
Team Thriller
The show looks a lot like Water World with Indiana Jones stuck in it. But still looks cool. Â Nice pictures. The park doesn't look like a coaster park, but the rides seem to make up for that. Â --James

Groteslurf
Movieland Studios part 3 Final shot. Thanks for reading. Ice cream. The food was ok. Rockstar seats. ^ Nice music and ok theming. This is an American all you can eat buffet. So back to the hotel and to the beach in the afternoon. In the evening we went to the Rockstar Restaurant at Caneva resort. Lake view So this was the closest we got. Somewhere I missed the turn to the mountain. Stop over. I really enjoyed that moment. Only insects could be heard and a lonely biker. Our goal ^ Great views. As we had seen everything in the parks and I expected the parks to be very crowdy that day, we decided to head to the mountains. Next day we woke up and the weather was great. Our knight Hell, I had fun. Probably because of the non stop refills of my wine glass. Our knight won ! Desert. My daughter had big fun. Knights Mine Main dish Us with the king & princess Competing Our knight Soup ^ Starter ^ Stage Wearing our crowns. Our table. My daughter is a little bit asthmatic but no 'bad' smells inside. Something I was really happy about. Inside. Entrance. I never before went to something like this, so I was a little excited. That evening we decide to have dinner at Medieval Times. ^ ^ Tomb Raider Machine again. The operator 'decides' the ride by randomly spinning the stone. Overview Some more theming. My daughter found Scooby in the meanwhile. The Nutella guy. I've been thinking about a better caption for this pic since our visit. I mean really, who wants to wear a Nutella sweater ? ^ Italian Sylvester Stallone. ^ Italian Rambo I saw the full Rambo show last year and it was similar to the Indiana Jones show, iow great. ^ The Rambo show was not ready yet so there was only a trailer version shown. Do I have your attention ?
hansrubens
Really some great pictures of the Garda lake. Â It really is a great place for vacation. I mean great parcs, great weather and a nice view. Â Â See ya in about 8 days for our US trip.
Kennyweird
That Medieval Times attraction is very similar to Dixie's Stampede. It has the same seating arrangement, heck, even the same food! The only difference is that it's medieval themed. Â Nice TR, BTW. It's a shame Movieland Studios didn't have any real credits for you to ride (unless of course you're Jeff Johnson).
