spacemtfan Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 Since WrestleMania XXIV is schduled to be at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, FL, how will affect the crowds at the theme parks? Will I have a better chance at seeing the wrestlers?
alpengeist04 Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 You'll probably get to see them as they cut in front of you in line.
Wes Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 People who watch WWF probably can't afford to get into Disney.
spaceace12 Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 I was bored and watched Hogan Knows Best he other day and the Hogan family put on fake body parts just to go into parks. If you see any wrestler, it is either them with a bunch of security people around them or if there isn't, they are doing it as publicity stunt.
Carnage Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 You'll probably get to see them as they cut in front of you in line. Â Yeah, they won't be waiting in lines. Walking up the exit on Nitro
spaceace12 Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 I am not into wrestling anymore, but I liked Mick Foley. I wonder if he had mr. socko with him. Lol.
spacemtfan Posted November 19, 2007 Author Posted November 19, 2007 Whoa, you saw Mick Foley!? You're lucky as hell!
Leaping La Ronde Boobis Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 People who watch WWF probably can't afford to get into Disney.  You sure about that?  EDIT: Pictures temporarily removed. Please resize your photos before posting them. They should be no larger than 800x600. -Joey  Sorry about that, but I have a picture of me with Bret Hart and me with Donald Duck. I am a wrestling fan and I can afford to go to Disney. I'll have the pics resized and posted in the near future
sobrider Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 In Mick Foley's 1st book, he said a lot of the wrestlers like theme parks and infact he went to wrestlers court for ditching Jeff Jarret once.
spaceace12 Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 Actually Mick was at Stark Raving Mad one year at Holiday World.
Nemesis Inferno Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 I think I saw Rob Van Dam at USH when I was over going on BTTF...  Naturally, in the Express queue  Dunno if it was really him, had the muscles and such for sure, and was with I assume his family...  Don't mind as long as they don't overally flaunt the fact, unlike the Miami Dolphins did at IOA one year...
jackskellington101 Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 Since WrestleMania XXIV is schduled to be at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, FL, how will affect the crowds at the theme parks? Will I have a better chance at seeing the wrestlers?  Seeing people have the second part down, I'll give you the first. I would expect a definite increase in numbers during that week. The citrus bowl seats around 70,000 people, and it looks like the WWE is capping the number of tickets to around 60,000. I doubt it’s going to stay that way, though demand does seem to be slow this year. As of right now, an estimated 46,000 tickets have been sold, with 41,000 being sold in the first 30 min. I'm sure it's going to be a boost everywhere in the Orlando area, but the biggest boost will be the direct relationship marketing targeted towards Universal Orlando. The WWE, in the US, shows its programming primarily on the NBC cable channels (USA and Sci-Fi). Therefore, in direct connection, Universal Orlando has set up a Wrestlemania vacation package, complete with tickets to the park and tickets to the event. With that, I have a feeling Universal might be getting a noticeable boost during that time frame. My guess, though it may be wrong, is that the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony will probably take place at Hard Rock Live, seeing that's a big auditorium on an NBC Universal owned property.  On the second note, you might have a good chance of seeing some of the talent throughout the park during that time. The only one on semi-current roster that has expressed major interest in the parks has been the aforementioned Mick Foley. I would not be surprised if he himself is found at Disney, as he has noted in the past that he is a major Disney fan, specifically in Winnie the Pooh. The only one at Disney I've seen personally, it was during the CP though I didn't attend to him personally, was Scott "Scotty 2 Hotty" Garland, but he's no longer on the roster. The WWE and Disney also have a very strong relationship with each other through the Make-A-Wish foundation, so I would not be surprised if a Make-A-Wish event featuring both companies happens during that time as well.
CoasterJunkie Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 I agree that the crowds will be high during Wrestlemania week. I atteneded a Wrestlemania in Philly and the crowds were NUTS. Â As for wrestlers in the parks, you may see a lot. Many are big coaster fans, including Mick Foley and Al Snow. I have met them both, the latter at the Wildwood Boardwalk eating a gyro. Â Since I have been to Wrestlemania, I am not shelling out the cash to sit outside in March, at night, with a bunch of smelly Floridians. I plan to spend my money on the Hall of Fame and other fan events going on that weekend.
spacemtfan Posted April 2, 2008 Author Posted April 2, 2008 Appraently before WrestleMania XXIV, Mick Foley, Rey Mysterio, Curt Hawkins, and Zack Ryder headed over to Universal's Islands of Adventures. Â Here's the link to the article: www.wwe.com/shows/wrestlemania/exclusives/gammraid
crazydaveh Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 I was at WM 24, it was fun, and no, it did not mean there were a ton of drunken people in Orlando, it's Spring Break, the drunks are all the parents who are drinking because of the crowds!
