I will go with his listing.

Off topic what was the uproar over the name about?

Something about Banshees being demonic or related to death or something stupid like that. Cedar Fair took the politically correct route with the name. Banshee would have been better than Mantis, IMO.

^^I'm guessing Demon has been there long enough that it hasn't been an issue so far. If they had ever considered changing it for the above reason, they probably would have done it by now. But, the changes I keep seeing in the latest TRs of The Demon as The Emo do make me wonder...

What does VooDoo represent then? It looks like evil possession to me. I guess the politically correct route is out the window now.

Maybe they should just get a huge sign outside of the ride that says "if you find things offensive then get the heck outta here."

I got my Rollercoaster! magazine in the mail a few days ago and it has an article about stand up coasters. There's a thing about Banshee in there.

Banshee means: a banshee wails around a house if someone in the house is about to die.

Legend has it that, for five great Gaelic families: the O'Gradys, the O'Neills, the O'Briens, the O'Connors, and the Kavanaghs, the lament would be sung by a fairy woman; having foresight, she would appear before the death and keen.

When several banshees appeared at once, it indicated the death of someone great or holy.

No, the ride was renamed "Mantis" because of a feminist group.

They stated that the word "Banshee" was demeaning, because it's definition is a woman who wails around when someone is about to die.

I forgot the feminist group that was going to file a lawsuit towards Cedar Point if the name wasn't changed.

I managed to bid for the T-Shirt for something like $40 which is £25.

If I go back to Cedar Point, i'll be wearing it. Wonder if someone would complain.

I take a Small / Medium size t-shirts so an XL will be super massive on me..
