I wonder if there could ever be a way for parks to incorporate a system like at SFoT, with the zippered baggies, but in a larger form for backpacks. I'm sure that most trains wouldn't have the room, but some could like PTCs. Or it could be somehow mounted to the backs of cars and/or seats, but there could be a fear of things getting caught in the wheels or the chassis.

I went to the park yesterday. We left Sudbury at around 6 30 AM and arrived at the park at 10. Leviathan was running smoothly and Behemoth was a little shaky but not bad at all. The lines were decently long but not too bad. Nothing noticeable was in Skyriders old plot besides the flags and a broken yellow construction stake. We went on Psyclone, Shockwave, Minebuster, Leviathan (x2), Behemoth (x3), Windseeker and maybe another ride (I forget). We did the mini putt which was really fun. We also went to the water park to try out Typhoon. While in line to get a tube for Typhoon I looked towards Minebuster and there were yellow flags beside this brick building. There were two of them. I don't know what they're for though. Typhoon was alright, after Typhoon we headed to the Body Blast. While in for the Body Blast there were a lot of red flags underneath the slide. I also looked at the huge dirt pile behind minebuster and saw two orange markers on it. I also say them from Behemoth. I also spotted a flatbed truck behind Minebuster's turnaround and I had something on it covered but a green tarp. I couldn't make out what it was. I went on minebuster to get a closer look but still couldn't make out what it was (there was a piece sticking out). We left the park at 5 30 and headed to Mandarin for supper, after supper we started our journey back home. Just outside of Sudbury on highway 69 we hit a bear, everyone was alright besides the car. We don't know what happened to the bear it just disappeared. I was able to call my dad and he came and got us (the front end of the car was pretty bad). I got home at 1 AM. I had a really good day at the park and at Mandarin. The orange markings and the Flatbed truck excite me though.

This is definitely the first trip report I've ever read that ended in bear collision. Holy crap, that's horrible. So glad to hear that the humans were ok (poor bear tho).

Haha, we're certainly lucky. I think the bear is ok, us and OPP couldn't find it. There was blood and fur under the car though.

The flat bed truck is for the fireworks it appears every year and someone thinks its a coaster however the markings in and around Minebuster are new, there were no yellow markers and no orange stakes before just orange flags in a dirt pile in a complete straight line.

That's probably what I saw the orange flags if we're talking about the same dirt pile.

So are orange flags for the fireworks ?

Also, as one of the mods on CWMania pointed out, CP looks like they might be only a few weeks away from their "announcement". If so, CW may announce what's going on soon after.

Just a quick update on Slingshot. Due to the quality of the on ride video, they are no longer selling the video to riders. This is really unfortunate and I am sure it'll get resolved as all other Slingshot's seem to have had any audio/video issues resolved shortly after opening as well. While they may not be selling the video, they are allowing you to film the footage using your cellphone or camera off of the computer monitor there.

Clearly there is going to be a loss in quality there but it's still better than nothing and the price is definitely right.

Why you won't see a coaster at Canada's Wonderland until probably 2018 at this rate.

The Canadian economy is crashing hard and has been for a while now but it is at an all time low. A 30 million dollar B&M coaster would cost the park 40 million dollars with the US conversion rate. Not including the other fees. That is way way way out of the budget for a park for one coaster in a seasonal park for Cedar Fair.

They are also losing a ton of money on the conversion rate with sales as they report sales, just read their quarterly results and yearly results last year alone 63 million dollars was lost in the exchange rate at Canada's Wonderland. (yearly results)

^They won't be spending that much money for a while, they didn't even on Leviathan (28 million)

Canada's Wonderland just has too much potential for Cedar Fair to ignore them. They're definitely getting a coaster soon to seal the deal of being a major destination park.

They were probably going to get one in 2016 but due to tough times here in Canada they are losing a lot of income, Ill post a link to the exact numbers canadas wonderland lost in revenue last year due to the poor economy.

Yeah Canada's Wonderland may be the most attended park in the chain, HOWEVER;

1. We don't make extra income on hotels like the other parks,

2. Our minimum wage and cost of doing business is really high compared to other parks especially when ordering cross border parts and attractions,

3. We lose a ton of money in currency exchange rates, especially with the economy crashing right now!

Stop expecting a 2016 coaster its been DELAYED for financial reasons and for those that still think our park is producing tons of extra cash for Cedar Fair and will get a coaster go read the 2014 annual financial report on Cedar Fairs website!

I can agree that the economy isn't in the greatest shape. It is funny however, that you only a few months ago was so sure that we were getting a coaster.

actually anyone that has seen my posts here and othe rplaces know I've been strongly suggesting a 2017 coaster...

None of us know whats actually happening, or not happening, until it's announced. Although I agree things can change, most parks are set in a certain 3/4/5 year like plan. With money saved this year by buying and installing used waterslides to the low budget for WMG, there is a chance money has been saved up before any of this for things like a 2016 coaster/attraction.

I get we all like to talk about the rumors and stuff like that, but none of us on here are paid Cedar Fair or Wonderland employees therefore we do not know what's actually happening. Telling people to not be optimistic for next year is like telling a kid that Santa isn't real (spoiler alert ).

With parks starting to tease recently, I am sure it'll be made public one way or the other if we can expect a large investment or a small next year, until then, why don't we talk about some of the amazing stuff happening this year like the Lumberjack show, the Rubber Duck fundraiser for Sick Kids Hospital or the new version of Dimensions?

^Yup, very good point.

So, has anyone had a chance to see this years Dimensions show? I saw it last week and it was good, but not as good as last years iteration.

Some of the bullet points i have from it are:

- The two clowns that start the show off by getting crowd pumped are not as funny/energetic as last years.

- There really seems to be a lack of any overall story. Last year was the clowns adventures through different dimensions as they searched for "Marcel". This year, "Marcel" isn't introduced until midway or later

- There is one scene, that without spoiling it, reminds me of Peter Pan or any Kung Fu movie ever and just felt a little disjointed. It was more on the line of the laser guy where it looks cool, but doesn't "shock and awe" like some of the other performers.

Overall I still enjoyed myself watching the show but it, to me, was below last years show and definitely below what Cirque Ambiente (now Cirque Imagine at KI) ever did.

Just got back from the park today and they had signs saying no show today for Dimensions even though their poster says daily until labor day... weird!

So while at the park today I noticed something.. THE PARKING LOT WAS FULL, like full. had maybe 50 empty spots left. It was a Wednesday so what about hot sunny weekends? I wonder if this is going to become an issue?
