lazy rivers used to be one of my things to do. Then I lost my chicken status and started riding the slides and stuff. I can't wait to try the torrent river at Schlitterbahn sometime though. I wish Bahari "in action" river was something like it.

Wow, that's lame about the lazy river. I remember many years ago that they let us stay on the river for as long as we liked. I think we stayed in our tubes for about an hour.

 

All the ones I've been on have had one entrance/exit point. I'm guessing the ones in FL are not like that? I've never been to a FL water park. I'd still like to do the WDW ones some day.

Yeah in Florida the Disney ones, Busch ones and Wet n Wild have several entrances and exits and you don't have to wait in line, or be in a tube or anything.

^ Many Point and Shoot cameras can do somewhat long exposures by simply switching the flash off. If you camera has a manual mode, it's even better, as you can adjust how long the camera should expose and such. I took most of my long exposures using my camera's manual mode by using the lowest possible ISO (the "sensitivity" of the light sensor), the largest f-number (smallest "opening" in the lenses), and a very slow shutter speed.

Day 2 started out at Kentucky Kingdom

They had the pink side open around 20 minutes before we had to leave, so few us got the credit

The trains are themed to cars

The first "dueling" element is on the lift

Unlike other dueling coasters, the trains dispatch in opposite directions

Shortly before leaving, they started testing the other side of TS

It is unlikely that it will reopen, at least not at KK

It had closed due to a recent accident

Superman was the park's Intamin drop tower

Remnants of before the Six Flags era?

The only one on the trip that didn't spin

The last credit to get was the wild mouse

I don't think any of us tried this one

I'm sure they're probably road-worthy, though probably not legally

The antique cars (with their "cow theming") were built by Arrow in 1990.

We also had ERT on Deluge (the large slide on the right). Easily one of the best waterpark rides I've been on with some nice ejector airtime.

You could buy a couple of De Loreans for that much money!

The station looks pretty, though it's still an SLC and could use a new paint job.

T2 is the first SLC in the US and the second in the world!

The inclined loop is something that seems to be only on stand-ups

I haven't seen many B&M coasters that go straight onto the lift out of the station. Many will have a small dip, turn, or some other element.

We had ERT on Chang, Twisted Sisters, Deluge, and Thunder Run. Unfortunately, Thunder Run was down, so they opened up the SLC and Greased Lightning for us.

SFKK was surprisingly hospitable to us. Just look at the paparazzi.

This one's the most unique of them all. It looks a bit like Erik's van

There were a lot of hot-rods in the area due to some convention of some kind

Day 2, part 2: Beech Bend

After Kentucky Kingdom, we headed for Beech Bend

There was hand slapping, pounding it, and more

This picture came out fairly well, considering it was quite dark out there

Coaster trains are legally required to have headlights at night

The park management was cool with us taking pictures/video on the rides

It's one of those old style "Pretzel" type rides

Rumbler was our main reason for being here

The wheel assembly is slightly unusual. While Vekoma likes to leave a gap between the track and the side friction wheels, Pinfari leaves the side friction wheels out altogether.

Besides Rumbler, the park is one of those "rides on concrete" type parks, but over the years, I'm sure it will expand with more rides and more permanent fixtures.

This Photo TR hasn't quite died yet, I have ~160 pictures from Indiana Beach, so I will be posting this in parts

The park has a "designed in RCT" feel to it

The fact that Robb can get us to form a straight line is quite shocking

The park charges for admission, which is less than the cost of parking for most other parks

I wasn't sure what to expect from this park. I've heard of it being called America's version of Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Indiana Beach is one of those "grass parking lot" parks

The first ride we went on was the "Bouncy Bouncy Bridge"

Fascination is an old parlor game that is slowing dying out. The game used to operate at Cedar Point and Geauga Lake (removed for trash cans), Holiday World, Beech Bend, HersheyPark, Kennywood, and Canobie Lake

If you're ever in Indiana, make sure you get over to Indiana Beach to watch the "Pirate Show"

The Den of Lost Thieves is one of those old school dark rides, but converted into a shooting ride

Judging by the style of track, this ride looks like a Pinfari

Galaxi is built partially over water

There's even a log flume intertwined with the woodies

It's a fun ride with quick drops and sharp turns

This was my first Flying Scooters credit, and Robb says they are almost as good as the ones at Carowinds, though IB discourages snapping, so I didn't attempt to try.

Oh man, dude, this has got to be one of my favourite updates of any TRs to date! You captured the park so well, bothin your pictures and your descriptions! I also like that the TR was long as opposed to some "five photo TRs" out there.

The Vekoma bus had McD's in South Park, but Arrow had White Castle AND South Park, haha! That has to be the best couple of captions in any Midwest TR to date!

 

I bet despite the pleading from almost 50 people to go to White Castle, Elissa insisted on McDonalds!
