SharkTums
Whatever they charge for this they'll get. It sounds amazing. I know my parents spent a fortune at the Legoland Hotel in Denmark with my brother when he was younger.
XYZ
I have some photos of my recent LEGO creations I built at Legoland California, primarily in the Holiday Village Build in Fun Town: This was the first LEGO model I made in the Holiday Village Build. Obviously, it's a cabin. I had a lot more ambition in my second LEGO model I made in the Holiday Village Build. This is a giant LEGO open air Christmas tree that stands almost 4 feet tall. It dominates all the models. Seriously, it dominates ALL the models. I checked on it today and it still is the tallest of all the Holiday Village Build models. Here is my LEGO snowman. I created it by building 3 LEGO spheres that can roll around. Here is my LEGO present. The lid can be taken off and there is a compartment in there that can store some small LEGO toys. Today, it started raining, so I built my tallest LEGO model of all time. This one was made of DUPLO and is over 4 feet tall. Yes, it is very tall. XYZ
2013 - Legends of Chima - (1/9/13) A report over at Orlando Parks News mentions an ad found in the free LEGO Club Magazine that mentions a new 4-D movie will be coming to both Legoland Florida and California in 2013 called “Legends of Chima”, a new Lego Universe which looks like a mixture between Thundercats and Avatar. (See a video all about the new Chima line here.) So, it looks like a new 4D movie will be Legoland's 2013 new attraction. I'm not that big of a fan of the existing 4D films at LLC, so I hope this will change my opinion on them. Also, the Bob the Builder 4D film left a few months ago, so perhaps this is to replace Bob the Builder.
Wes
Three things: 1. The mom's head is very poorly photoshopped on. 2. The kid whipping the dad is very 50 Shades Of Gray. 3. The lego monkey in the corner right of the picture seems to be really digging the weird S&M situation. Edited January 9, 2013 by Wes

Xmeister
I can't wait for the hotel! I walk past it everyday on the way to my clock-in station and this will definitely be one of the best theme park hotels in California. (I'd say the only one on par is the Grand Californian.) I've been hearing great things about the Bricks Family Restaurant in Windsor, so I can only imagine how great the one here is going to be. BTW has anyone tried the rice pudding at Legoland? It's to die for, in particular the peppermint rice pudding. Which might be the best thing I've ever tasted.
SoCalCoasters
Update! Woo! I went back to Legoland on Sunday afternoon for the first time in quite a while (curse you school!) and was pleasantly surprised with all the changes. My main reason for attending was to check out the brand new Legends of Chima 4-D show. Legends of Chima 4D-Xperience Review: You may have already seen my review of it on Screamscape, but I'd like to clarify some of the points that I made. The new show was a fantastic effort overall, and thoroughly enjoyed by all the younger kids in the theater. While I personally found the animation to be a little rougher around the edges than past films, the gorgeous sets and fantastic incorporation of 3D elements more than make up for it. The in-house effects are definitely the best of any of the 4D films I've seen in the park. Here's where I'd like to reiterate a bit of a warning to any of those who plan on seeing the show. If you're near the front, prepare to get wet! There's a mounted hose on the floor of the stage in front of the screen, and during the course of about a minute of the film, you're blasted with the hose. That scene also gives everything in the theater a thorough drizzle as well. While it feels more focused on product promotion than a lot of the past films (Racers, Spellbreaker, and to a degree, Clutch Powers), it's still very high quality, and kids are bound to love it. Also if the park reads this, the Bird Character's audio levels were very low during the show, and I had trouble hearing the dialogue for part of it. Construction/General Park Update Park updates in order of appearance: -New Separate Parking entrance being built with two new kiosks (possibly for hotel) -Legoland Hotel Construction Progress: Clock tower is working already! - Front plaza work -Brand new Legends of Chima 4D Xperience + Walk around character and giant character model. -Giant Lego Spider has appeared on the way up to Castle Hill -Playtown Theater is changing into a brand new show? That's all I have for now. Enjoy the update. Last thing: If you renew your Merlin season pass right now you get one of six different $20 dollar value Lego sets free. The Chima one I got was actually quite nice.
XYZ
LEGOLAND HOTEL OPENING DAY TRIP REPORT (and a general park update) 2nd part of the update can be found here: http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=218&start=166 This is what this update is all about! They moved the captain from the front entrance to Crossings Road so he can be hit by cars. Look at the hotel! Look at it! As you can see, nobody was here today. YOLO! Vroooom! Legoland Hotel's entrance. Let's go inside! Inside of the hotel is a giant play structure. Legoland did a very good job with this as they really didn't need to do it. Here is the indoor portion of Minis Lounge. Angry ogre! Why can't the ogre be nice like Shrek? Looking UP! That isn't gum on the bottom of the blimp. A reminder of what building this is. You know, some people walk into buildings without knowing what the heck the building is. Some random theming that is very random in the most random location, though it looks nice. Here is the entrance to Bricks Restaurant. Here is a table at Bricks Restaurant. It looks really nice and you don't need to give kids a coloring sheet, the whole table is one! In case you don't know where the heck anything is... SMASH! The weather cooperated well today. Here is the clock tower at the entrance of the hotel. You can kind of see the pool. I could've gotten a better picture, but I didn't want to look like a stalker. Two Flags > Six Flags This is the outdoor portion of Minis Lounge. The back of the hotel used to be very bare during construction, but Legoland put a ton of theming onto it to make it look great! Heading into the park. The sign was recently repainted. When I came today, two new models were put up that I didn't see on Monday. Here is the first one. Here is the second model of a bull/ox/something that gives Coast Cruise another model to look at. Build and Test was recently re-themed to LEGO City Build and Test. New wallpaper was put up around LEGO City Build and Test. Las Vegas Miniland re-opened recently after a long five month rehab. Most of the models were replaced with new ones and some of them were sandblasted to make them look new. Look at shiny Treasure Island! The Mirage volcano now spews a lot more water out that it can actually get you a little wet! A close up on Tropicana! You can see how the model was just sandblasted rather than replaced as the bricks are a little worn out. High Roller did not survive the rehab. The two red buildings in Washington DC were sandblasted or replaced recently. The two Smithsonian Castle buildings were also recently sandblasted or replaced. Here is the first one. Here is the other Smithsonian Castle building. It looks like this one is made with new bricks. This is why you don't go to Legoland on Spring Break. The Thinker returned! He used to be above the Model Shop and he is now in Fun Town. Here are the models I made at the LEGO Clubhouse. (I didn't make the car) The water park is now open! Single Rail Technic Coaster! Since everybody loves Mack mice supports, here's a close up on one of them. LEGO Chima 4D-Xperience opened four weeks ago. The film is good, though I wouldn't recommend seeing it unless you have a lot of time on your hands. Here is a LEGO model of one of the Chima characters. Here is a "ride sign" for the 4D film. As you can see, LEGO Chima 4D-Xperience sure has a lot of showtimes. Though, it usually has less. Aim for the sky! A rare photo of Coastersaurus' first drop! Oooh! As I was walking out of Legoland, I saw an ad of Aquatica on a bus. This is the end of the update. Thanks for reading and comments are wanted! Xmeister
Today was a great day to be a Model Citizen. I got to work in the Lego Clubhouse today teaching classes, so I got to talk to a lot of guests and there was a lot of excitement about the hotel. There was a definite excitement in the air with the hotel opening and I really think the resort is looking the best it ever has. One of the things I think Legoland always has had going for it is the food. The breakfast buffet at the new Bricks Restaurant was not only the best buffet I've ever had, it was the best breakfast I've ever had. So don't miss it where you're here. Renate told me a few weeks ago to make some creations on the "Cool Creations" shelf, so I have been building something there every time I visited Legoland. Xmeister
I can see why she did! Have you thought about building any more ride models?
XYZ
Most likely, more ride models will come. The problem with a lot of the rides at Legoland is that they are difficult to make out of LEGO bricks (which is funny since most of them are themed to LEGO bricks). Though, whenever I find something that I can built rather easily out of the simple bricks at the Clubhouse, I usually do it. I'll build something when I'm coming on April 20th or 21st (or earlier). XYZ
Sorry for the double post, but here is some more Legoland Hotel pictures, the main update can be found here: http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=218&start=159 The Legoland Hotel sure likes dragons. There are four total. Yet another dragon. LEGO bricks made out of LEGOs. A hot air balloon at the ceiling. Say cheese! The hotel likes trees. Here's one. And yet another one. The inside of the pirate ship. Yep, this is made out of LEGOs.
Nyteowl
Dang this looks awesome! Sadly, I used to go to LLC alot when I was younger because my aunt lived in the area and got us season passes every year, but I haven't been in probably 4 years now. The new hotel opening and all the other new stuff that was added looks great so I'll definitely have to make my way down there this summer to check it out . SoCalCoasters
Is my model of Technic's Car & Track still on display in the Clubhouse? It took forever to model, especially since the reference picture I used was a tiny one from a Lego Club magazine.

I talked to one of the managers there and he told me that it got busted up by some kids. I built a Sky Cruiser model on Saturday and that particular employee thinks it is a model of Technic Coaster, so I guess it is a replacement. SoCalCoasters
Legoland CA announced a huge water park expansion today! Very excited for this! http://california.legoland.com/documents/press/Press_Conference_2013.docx CARLSBAD, Calif. (Sept. 12, 2013) – Coming off a successful year with the launch of the nation’s firstLEGOLAND® Hotel, LEGOLAND® California Resort General Manager Peter Ronchetti proudly announced another big addition for guests to enjoy next year: LEGO® Legends of Chima Water Park! The LEGO Legends of Chima Water Park is based on the LEGO Group’s newest hit product “Legends of Chima”, where animal tribes battle in a mystical land for control of the precious energy source called “CHI”. Plunging a shovel into the sand to break ground in the new area, Ronchetti discovered a treasure box full of CHI and with the help of lifeguards and Laval, the warrior prince of the Lion tribe, he announced LEGO Legends of Chima Water Park is opening in summer 2014. “2014 is a big investment year for us. A great corner stone to the Resort’s success is listening to our guests and striving to increase the value of their experience,” said General Manager Peter Ronchetti. “We are excited to build an entirely new Water Park based on the LEGO Chima product line immersing children and their families into an interactive world of play!” Four of eight main areas of the 3 acre Water Park were introduced today: Lion Temple Wave Pool – The centerpiece of the new Water Park where guests make their way through a LEGO® archway and into an interactive wave pool designed for families with young children. Water cascades down an iconic 30-foot tall floating “Mount Cavora” which shows the eight animals representing each animal tribe. Cragger’s Swamp - This hands-on water play area invites guests to ride water slides, blast water cannons and jets and slide through the head of a massive crocodile. Eglor’s Build-A-Boat - Following in the unique interactive play experience introduced with Build-A-Raft River at LEGOLAND Water Park, Eglor’s Build-A-Boat gives children the opportunity to use their creativity and bring their imaginations to life. Young guests can build their own boat and learn how to change the currents, build and dodge obstacles and race against their friends. Wolves’ Cantina – This is the place to grab a bite when guests get hungry! Enjoy tasty food surrounded by collectibles gathered by the clever wolf tribe. XYZ
Looks nice. I'm assuming it'll go behind Pirate Reef. I wished that a Polar X-plorer-like coaster would go there, but this is fine.
SoCalCoasters
A water park expansion makes a lot more sense. Something like Polar X-plorer could theoretically be threaded around existing attractions, but the water park doesn't have that luxury as much with its limited land. I'll be at the park for a TEA event next week so hopefully I'll learn more about what this expansion holds.
Hawkman
I don't get why Lego is choosing Chima has the water park's new theme. Chima is on of the lowest selling themes in the Lego system.
gisco
Looks like the park is making good steps on getting people to stay a while instead of just passing through on the way to San Diego or Disneyland.
