Wes
robb are you going. i just want to know what it is or more how it works Robb won't be there because it conflicts with the TPR Midwest trip. Also, you should probably review the TPR posting rules, especially concerning proper grammar (using capitalization and punctuation): http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21962 Thanks! Guest
Here is how the event works. I am the event planner so please by all means ask here or via PM if you need to. We will have 8 marathoners riding the coasters at Kennywood all day on August 5th. You will have one month to collect donations and pledges. Once we pick our riding teams we will give out stuff for payment information. Kennywood is giving all marathoners and volunteers free admission. We are also trying to work with the park to get us some goodies. We will know more about all the goodies in mid-June. We are giving to both Kennywood Cares and Give Kids the World. On the Coaster Crew's website, click the single riders bar and fill out either a teams application or a volunteer. So, if you are a really good fundraiser and can marathon all day, PLEASE JOIN US!!! Thanks!

imbordisux
How does one go about collecting donations/pledges? Is there a form I would need people to fill out? Also, would it be a flat contribution, or is it a "per lap" deal?
Guest
You can collect donations/pledges a few ways. You can have them fill out pledge forms for people that want to do pledges. They can hand you a check, cash, money order. Or you can direct them to the online donation site. It really is up to them. Let me know if you have anymore questions. Guest
Bump for another update. To date we have raised well over 1,000 dollars. We are still well over a month away and things are looking great. We have met with Kennywood and have ironed out most if not all of the details. We also have invited a few celebrities at the event. We are keeping our invitations secret until they have confirmed they will be making the event. But they are big names! If anyone is still interested I have about 4-5 more volunteer spots open for that day. Volunteers will either be standing on the platform with the single riders as their team judge, a floating judge or just all around gopher that day. Please be aware if you sign up to be a volunteer you have to be in the Pittsburgh area on the afternoon of the 4th to go through the park walk through and do our In the Loop podcast. Thanks for all the support guys. These charities mean a lot to us!
Guest
*Bump* Anyone in the PGH area want to volunteer that day? My volunteers backed out. I need about 2-3 more people. Dailey Enterprizes
Today I went to Kennywood to help out the event by being a ride judge for the Xtreme Team (aka Jeff and Tina). Please forgive me for the lack of typed descriptions and whatnot because I'm very tired. Here are some pictures though... I end this with a dreamy view from the Tbolt station. Thunderbolt station was pretty empty by the end of the night. The Coaster Crew! Blurred, but not too bad for a camera phone. Phantom caught in action! Lost Kennywood fountain! Bunny wabbit! Tried to get all the Tbolt in one shot. The raffle tickets were drawned and a lucky kid walked away with a signed Pittsburgh Steelers Football. The sky looked alot like this for most of the day. Loading times on the Racer weren't as fast as the Jackrabbit's times. The crew on the Racer. My amazingly awesome tally taking skills are showned here. Jeff gives the sign that he's doing fine. That's alot of rain. Jackrabbit See what I mean about the chicken? Some helpers... CoastinKatie Jolly Ranchers, compliments of Coaster Crew. First lap on the first coaster! Yeah, this little chicken became our big focus of amusement for the rest of the day for some reason. Test... Clear! Kennywood Crew cleaning the Phantom's train. Tina and Jeff on the Phantom's Revenge station platform waiting for it to open.
