coasterdude5 Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Nice TR, I like going to dead parks, but this one seemed worse than dead. Too bad Super errr... Ride of Steel wasn't up to its normal standard... Cool photos, too.
ginzo Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 I really hope Derek's theory about Ride of Steel is correct. I'm hitting Darien Lake later this month, and I'll be pretty bummed if my first experience on a real Intamin hyper (MF doesn't count) involves a lot of rattle.
OldJJman Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Btw, are all of them clones? No. The ones at DL and SFA are miror images of each other. The one at SFNE is a custom design and usually consindered "God's Coaster" along with EGF (which really IS God's coaster!!). DL came first in 1999, and then the other 2 came in 2000. JJ
Jayjay719 Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 S:ROS was bad? I've never ridden one but I always thought they were really well liked coasters. Btw, are all of them clones? The SROS at Six Flags New England isn't a clone....and I think better than all three. Ride of Steel at Darien Lake is a mirror image of the one at Six Flags America.
niiicolaaah Posted May 15, 2007 Author Posted May 15, 2007 ^The one at Darien Lake came first. Let's not forget that! By the way, they spelled my name "MICOLE". WTF?!
odene497 Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Nice pics Micole. I really hope Superman gets it's act together, I'd hate to see it go down the road of neglected rides. I hope they get The Predator back up and running too, I miss it. -Nick C.
raptor6 Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 So, ROS was not running up to the usual Intamin standard of greatness. I was looking forward to going there for the first time this summer. ^ odene497, your from auburn? I totally work in the city at TRW.
Carnage Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 I hope they get The Predator back up and running too, I miss it. Really? I put Predator in the "please tear it down" category. That ride is just pure pain.
KingOfNynex2003 Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 too bad Ride Of Steel wasn't running well when you went I heard that it's a really great coaster to go onto at Darien Lake.
EuroTre Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Happy anniversary! Too bad Derek was gone. Also too bad that Ride of Steel was running pretty bad. I like the new station though.
Louise Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Great pictures, Nic, fun TR!! LOL at them spelling your name wrong. No cheesecake factory?
totoro1981 Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Cool pics Nicole. Too bad someone did a Micole joke before me... Seems you had a lot of fun. I'm a little disappointed you two didn't try the water park
niiicolaaah Posted May 15, 2007 Author Posted May 15, 2007 ^^Yeah, we were both mad exhausted and just wanted to go home when the park closed. We ate bagels with cream cheese at Tim Horton's for dinner! ^I rode the log flume, does that get me any points? Christine wouldn't ride cause she didn't want to get wet... but this log flume doesn't even mist you. So I chatted with the ride ops at the top of each hill.
thrillrideseeker Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 WOW! Amazing TR! I loved the pictures of Mind Eraser ... You so should have rode the skycoaster! Anyways... I hope you had a great time! I mean having to wait in lines as long as those must have killed you Again great TR! ~Matthew
californiascreamer1 Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Great job Thats strange that S:ROS went bad, because it seemed to be a great ride. Thats pretty cool that you had all walk ons.
verticalzero Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Lovely Pic's Nicole, Did your friend have a Hang n Bang for her 1st upside down coaster...? if yes very brave.
Goliath513 Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Wow I never expected the park to be that empty. It looks like a very fun and nice park. I will have to get out there sometime to experience it.
odene497 Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 ^ odene497, your from auburn? I totally work in the city at TRW. You work at TRW?But why is your location Cleveland? I hope they get The Predator back up and running too, I miss it. Really? I put Predator in the "please tear it down" category. That ride is just pure pain. I like it because it was my first big coaster. Realistically it sucks, but I still love it.
charlietheunicorn Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Superman was great last time. And smooth. HOw could it have been bumpy and rough?
raptor6 Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 S:ROS should hopefully get better as the season goes on.
raptor6 Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 ^ odene497, your from auburn? I totally work in the city at TRW. You work at TRW?But why is your location Cleveland? Simple. I am a college student who was born and raised in Cleveland. My co-op job is at TRW.
niiicolaaah Posted May 15, 2007 Author Posted May 15, 2007 Heeey, how about you guys take that to PMs. Yes, Mind Eraser was her first "upside down" coaster, and she liked it. I am hoping Superman will run better later in the season, they are probably rehabbing the other train. It was not on the transfer track.
Airtime&Gravity Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Great TR, and while DL looks nowhere as good as SFSTL(my #1 SF park) it looks good enough to be one of my favorites. While Ride of Steel is probably the worst coaster name, the park looks really clean and well run.
Carnage Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Great TR, and while DL looks nowhere as good a$$ SFSTL(my #1 SF park) it looks good enough to be one of my favorites. Funny, I don't mind DL, but I despised SFSTL. SFSTL probably ranks as one of, if not the worst park I've ever been to. Terrible staff, rude guests, dirty park. Maybe I caught it on a really, really bad day. But I don't really plan on going back to find out.
Airtime&Gravity Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 ^ I thought the staff was ok, the park was clean, but there were rude guests.(not even near as many as GAM though). The only reason it is my #1 is that I love the location, atmosphere, and the fact that it has been dead when I've visited. DL looks like a better version of EG (which I like, but it is still my least favorite SF park), and hopefully the new owners can take care of the park. I might go up to DL later this year, so hopefully it is as good or better(hopefully more rides are open) when I visit.
