Erik Johnson Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 My wife Leanne is a HUGE Spderman fan so we decided to do this. Islands of Adventure is having an early morning Passholders event on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in which $19.99 gets you a screening of Spiderman 3, breakfast with Spiderman, as well as express pass for all the attractions until noon in the Marvel Comics area. They will do the same thing with Universal Studios when Shrek 3 comes out in a few weeks. Here are some photos from the Spiderman event: For the 245th time Mythos, bring back a good menu. Mmmmmm.....Dragons. The Flying Unicorn was on its way to the Candy Mountain. It looked like they were letting everyone on the flyers coaster today. Since they want to talk about sex, the show is leaving IOA soon. While the express line took 10 minutes, the normal one would have taken 80. Ever wondered what the Hulk looked like from this angle? I have never seen the park as crowded as I have this day. The express line would have taken at least 20 minutes, so we deicded to wait 30 seconds instead. The world's best single rider line is for this attraction. Nobody knows where it is! Another angle. There was this strange cylinder TV monitor showing off the new movie. One of the many new shirts for sale. Lots of Spiderman activity in the park today. It would have been an 80 minute wait without our express pass. Oops, I guess this is the real Spiderman ride. I think that the Spiderman ride is WAY over rated. Food for coasters. According to the man himself, the one in the movies is an actor "playing" Spiderman. Captain America deserves some respect. Please build a hyper coaster in his name, IOA. More food. Looks like there is food. This was our express pass until noon. It was good for all 3 Marvel attractions. Yes, they checked your tickets before entering. After the movie, we walked over to IOA to the Fantastic 4 cafe. I can't think of another time I went to the movies at 7:30AM. It looks like we are in the right place. Our Breakfast ticket. Our Spiderman movie ticket. Since you had to buy the tickets over the phone, you had to pick them up here. We have never been here this early. I guess they do not open the parking garage store until later in the day. Leanne LOVES Spiderman. At least the parking lot was open to let us in at 7AM. Yeah, its freaking early in the morning. Since option #3 was already sold out, we had to pick option #2. Oh cool, its a Spiderman event. Looks like we got mail from Universal Orlando.
spaceace12 Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Somebody looks happy in the Spiderman Picture! And it isn't Erik's significant other!
Erik Johnson Posted May 6, 2007 Author Posted May 6, 2007 I might as well do a small Universal Update. I guess they "updated" the Nascar cafe. Our last attraction was the Lucy museum, which we had never done before. They are coming to get you Jahan. The dog from the Men in Black movies. Cool monkey trick. Lots of birds. Another animal/human act. This is how they make birds fly for the movies. Stupid human/animal tricks. We have never seen the animal show before. It looks like Universal hired Knott's proofreader. Check out the word, "tickets". So is the car. In my opinion, I really do welcome the change. They still have the express pass ad. The store is still open. It looks like they just spray painted over some of the old lettering. Simpsons ride, here we come. Yes, Back to the Future is now gone. We rode Men in Black a couple of times. Again, the single rider line rocks! The monsters seemed to really like the ladies. BJ just hanging out with Frank. Dead cheerleaders. Monster rock stars. It certainly had some of that PG-13 humor that is found in those other shows. This show did have some things in common with the Bill and Ted show during HHN. The Mummy covered all the rules while watching the show. Well its true, he is still alive. I have never done the Beetlejuice show before. Still the best dark ride/coaster around. Sorry Mystery Mine and Everest. Oh cool, it looks like a new Horror channel is coming out. They built a new gate to seperate the two areas. Tons of new stuff that involves the Blue Man Group. October was the last time I walked into the Studios.
ginzo Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Captain America deserves some respect. Please build a hyper coaster in his name, IOA. Â Yes!!! I still don't understand why Florida doesn't have a hyper yet. Who is going to do it first, Universal or Busch? My money is on Busch.
arrowfanman Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 The Flying Unicorn was on its way to the Candy Mountain. Â This caption WINS! Â Â Â Â They are coming to get you Jahan. Â This caption FAILS! Â Â Â Â Â Â Thanks for the PTR Erik! They're great as always! Â -Jahan
Erik Johnson Posted May 6, 2007 Author Posted May 6, 2007 ^^ What was funny was there was a group of kids walking over to the Flying Unicorn doing the whole Charlie and the Candy Mountain bit.
coastercrazed49 Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 ^^^Well technically it does, Sheikra is 200 feet tall so i guesse that that qualifys. Â Â BTW Nice Trip Report.
alpengeist04 Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Nice TR. What a difference a couple days makes.(...and yes I know the Spiderman event wasn't going on yet. ) The Hulk had a 10 minute wait most of Wednesday, along with Spiderman and Dr. Doom. Â ...oh and while I didn't have breakfast with Spidey, I did see the movie Friday at downtown Disney.
Superman06 Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Spiderman rocks! Â both the ride and the movie! Â i loved the universal parks. cant wait to go again
hemmy Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Too bad Spiderman 3 was a HUGE disappointment and they made him a retarded emo kid. Â http://parkerpanic.ytmnd.com/
carolinacaniac Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Did the trains start going "La laaaa, la laaaa, la laaaaa." each time they passed? Were you shown the way by the magical leoplerodon? Â Sorry, I couldn't help it. So what did you think about the movie? I thought that the story lines they had could have been better done in two movies. It just seemed like there was too much happening
Stuart-J Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 i saw spiderman 3 yesterday it was awesome! and that single rider line u found in dr dooms fearfall is pretty cool right? i asked the guy last year when i went if theres a single rider line he told me that u gotta go ....... erick me n u know where it is it wouldnt be a secret if i posted it right lol
decay1009 Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 Unfortunately, in FL if you have a coaster or any structure over 200 feet, you have to include airplane warning lights. Disney, Universal, and Bush all feel it detracts too much from the theming of a coaster to include them. And technically, Shreikra is 199 feet, but since it goes underground, they say 200 feet+. Â Personally, I would love another independant coaster to break that tradition at maybe Cypress Gardens, or like the Dania Beach Hurrricane...
thefitness Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 The Flying Unicorn was on its way to the Candy Mountain. Â This caption WINS! Â Â AGREED! Â Â The park looked extremely crowded, but it looked like you guys had fun! Thanks for the pictures! I really wanted to go to this event.

Just look at SFoG's Goliath.
BarryH Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 Great photos! Â I haven't seen IOA that crowded in a while. I guess the summer crowds will come soon.
pianojohn Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 I was TOTALLY there on Saturday too! In fact, I was at the 1st Beetlejucie show. Must have missed you! But it was very crowded. Thanks goodness for VIP passes!!
Erik Johnson Posted May 8, 2007 Author Posted May 8, 2007 I was TOTALLY there on Saturday too! In fact, I was at the 1st Beetlejucie show. Must have missed you! But it was very crowded. Thanks goodness for VIP passes!! Â Yeah, the crowds were insane that day, though the Studios were not as crowded as IOA. I think we saw the third BJ show that day.
obeygiant Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Nice photos! The parks seem so crowded! And I was thinking of going soon... Has Universal done this before, for like the previous openings of Spiderman?
missingmusician Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 80 Minute Wait?! We waited 10 yesterday... Â If you're going to the Orlando parks this time of year, go DURING THE WEEK. The kids are still in school, so it's only a few tourists and various college aged locals (like myself). If you go on the weekends, it's a lot of school trips and such. We walked on to pretty much everything yesterday. We did Single Riders for Mummy, though, and had a little wait for front row on the Dragons and Hulk. There was a little wait at Spiderman and...that's about it.
Chrissie Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Awesome TR Eric! My bf loves Spiderman, I wish we could go have breakfast with him!! Â I thought the film was good apart from when he turned into an EMO ladies man...Totally LAME!!
Erik Johnson Posted May 9, 2007 Author Posted May 9, 2007 ^^ Yeah, Spiderman 3 certainly is a step down when compared to the first two movies.
