So Hasek is considering a comeback, huh? I know he may still be active and in good physical condition, but he's 47 years old. 40 is pushing it in hockey. I know that being a goaltender would require the least amount of physicallity but still, I think his hockey days are over. If he does come back at all he will probably end up like Forseberg and go back into retirement after 2 games.

This pretty much just speaks for itself...what say you?

Both arguements have valid points, but personally I like a fast paced highly defensive game. I understand Tampa's strategy and can see why Philly was just standing there, a well played 1-3-1 defense can be a bitch to get through haha. But that being said, lets play some hockey and not stand there with the puck.

^ I played goalie for 14 years growing up and loved it, I'm actually considering joining a league a few co-workers are part of. I found it's more mental than it is physical. Sure you need physical talent but it takes a lot to tell your body to stand in front of a slapshot when the natural instinct is to dive away. I played defense a lot as well but prefer goalie, my fat A$$ isn't made for long distance . I'm good for about 60 meters rather than a mile haha.

^^ A friend of mine was a fighter pilot, but I wouldn't comment on his job unless I also had experience with it. Just sayin'.

But I've played 'em all too, and it's my personal opinion that goalie requires just as much, if not more exertion (both physical and mental) than every other position. You're on the ice for all 60 minutes, you're wearing sweat-soaked equipment, your knees and lower back (by nature of the position) take a beating, and you are the last line of defense...which in many cases means a lot more responsibility than say, random 1st line forward or 2nd line defenseman.

And just a little more food for thought.....it could be easy for Grant Fuhr to say he had it "easier" too. Think about it.

I guess every person has it differently. Some people might find goalie an easy position and some might say the opposite. I guess it is all a matter of personal preference. Still, saying that goalie is just as physical if not more physical than the other positions only backs up my main point that Hasek is too old and worn for a comeback.

Sharks fail. Smith played amazing, 31 shots saved. Sharks are my team but I'm a goaltender at heart. So when I went to the wild game I was happy backstrom was playing.

THAT'S RIGHT!!! GO YOTES!!! Sorry, I have to rub it in a little after this severe beating you guys handed us earlier this season . I haven't heard much out of Backstrom this year, how's he playing?

The media is RIPPING the Sabres players for not doing enough after the Lucic hit on Miller in Saturday nights game. They're calling the Sabres players soft for not going after Lucic (or Thomas) after the hit.

Being that the NHL wants to crack down on hits to the head, you would think this guy would at least get a one gamer and/or a fine for intent to injure a goalie - even if Miller was out of the crease. I can't believe all he got was a 2 minute penalty & no penalty or suspension. Even though he didn't raise the elbow, he clearly followed through with the hit and made no attempt to let up.

Shanahan is a douche in my book...no consistency with rule enforcement and suspensions and you're going to have too many players that won't know what they can and can't get away with when it comes to hits.

My (and the medias) biggest amazement was that the team barely reacted to the hit and now Miller is out indefinitely with a concussion...second one in eight months.

All I got to say is Lucic better be watching his back when they play here on the 24th...karma can be a bitch & now I think the Sabres players feel like they are going to HAVE to do something to get redemption for their hurt goalie.

I want someone to explain to me why Crosby is on the All-Star ballot when he hasn't played a minute on ice yet Tyler Seguin who has 11 goals and is +14 isn't. I'm not hating on Crosby in this instance but come on. How can you vote for someone who hasn't played and might not play for another month or more? I also want to know why Brian Elliot isn't on the ballot despite having a .947 save percent and 1.49 GAA. I also want to know why Mike Green is on there and not Dennis Wideman when Wideman has twice as many points as Green.
