Just got back from my mixed non-sanctioned league. Opened up with a 226, then followed it up with a 170 (yeah, kinda procrastinated on that adjustment), then ended with a 238 for a 634 scratch series.

Just got back from our new "Monday Night Bowling" routine we just got into doing. Slowly, I'm improving from scoring a 47 last session to 71. Still have a ways to go but getting somewhere. And I was rolling 16 pounds, which yes it's heavy, but yet, going back to a 12 pounder, I throw it too far and feel 'out of control.' Lastly, I think the Wii got the better of me because I almost released the ball as it was behind me...thumb slipped 3/4 of the way out of the hole.

My average is like 69...hehe. I need the bumpers up when I bowl! Watch out, I tend to throw the bowl behind me numerous times! Hehe...

That sounds about right for me and my average. I suck at bowling which is weird because my grandfather was a phenominal bowler and I am using his ball.

Alright, let's see.....

My father has owned a small bowling alley in Port Jervis, NY for almost 30 years now. It is an old house with wood lanes and very old Brunswick machines. There are now 18 lanes. There are 2 other lanes that were operational back in the day, but my dad put them behind a wall and started using them for spare parts because his intentions were to put in virtual golf, but he had some financial troubles with the place back then and it never happened. Now they are just sitting there behind the wall and being used for storage.

I haven't been an active member in a league since I moved out a few years ago, but when I was I think my last established average was a 207. Last year I was going home fairly often and working once in a while and would sub in the one league and was averaging 218, but only got 15 games in so it wasn't official. When I went home for Christmas I hadn't bowled for about 6 months and a team needed me for a game because a dude was late and somehow I pulled a 258 out of my butt.

Minisink Lanes, my dad's place, for sure isn't an easy place to bowl. On average about 3 guys average in the 200's for the year. There are a lot of pretty good bowlers there that go out and average an easy 200 other places in the area. It is just a mix of the wood lanes, the old sideboards and the inconsistancy of the lanes that make the place hard. People have nicknamed it "The House of Horrors".

Hmmm..... I have had the same ball for probably the last 5 or 6 years - Danger Zone. And it was used before I even started using it.

I used to be into bowling a lot, but it just got old. I guess that is just what happens when you grow up in a bowling alley.

My dad is getting older and planning on retiring soon. I think I'm going to do a PTR of the place when he decides to give it up and give everyone a backstage tour when I have the chance.

I'm not a bowling enthusiast, but I really enjoy it when I do manage to hit the lanes. This just caught my eye, because I'm going bowling tonight for a party.

Here's hoping I can get above 150.

I'm now sitting at John Wayne airport, with a 2 hour delayed flight, to go bowl my sweeps in Vegas. I have already entered $250 worth of brackets, and another $100 in sidepots.

Sitting in the airport stinks!

Well, I guess the trip to bowl in Vegas was worth it.

I bowled a 639 scratch, that netted me $522. So far, playing Blackjack ($10) I'm up about $400. I just don't feel like going back down to the casino right now. Too crowded.

I'll try again in the morning. More than likely, I'll dump $500 in an hour, eat lunch, and head to the airport all pi$$ed off, then find out my flight is delayed for 2 hours.

Oh joy.

I'm on the bowling team for my school and since the first match I had a great time! My average can be anything from 120 to 150, but my highest game is a 196. I'm getting better.

^^ Nice series, JJ! My wife bowled a 695 once. She was so close to the 700, but didn't quite get there.

It'd take me about nine games to bowl what you did!

Whoa, how did I miss that we have a bowling thread?!?!

I'm the most inconsistent bowler ever, though I just bowl for fun every once in a while. I like to brag that my high is a 224, but that's mainly because I managed to bowl five strikes in a row. Haven't really come close to that score since. I'm usually between 100-150.

This is pretty much me too!! My high score is like 170-something, but it was a total fluke. I generally bowl 120-140 these days... I'm really erratic, and tend to be in the extremes, either bowl really well (by our group's standards I mean, not by you guys ), or else REALLY badly.

One of my favourite things to do though, I love to bowl! Sucks it's so damn expensive.
