coasters 4 me Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 They have brought out a new Kit Kat which has peanut butter in it. I love it, it is so nice. I also love Aero, Crunchy, Whole Nut Dairy Milk (Basically all Dairy Milk), Mars Bars and Galaxy!!! I actually like Hersheys chocolate. My friends tried it and they said it tasted like crap, but I like it.
dandaman Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 I think Canada gets the best chocolate because of both its proximity to the States, and its history with the UK. Jolly Ranchers and Nerds are on the same shelves as Aero bars and Smarties. The only 100% Canadian-made bars I can think of are Nanaimo bars and Simply Delicious, both of which are JUST that.

But One chocolate bar I like is the Strawberries and Creme ones. Im not sure if anyone else has had one but they are tasty.

Due to loosing 1/2 of my teeth (a very sweet tooth) I have cut down a lot. When your visiting England, check out Cadbury's World nr Birmingham, they give out "free" choc: http://www.cadburyworld.co.uk/en/cworld. Last time I was in the US was 2000, I can't remember if I had any choc, but your Wendy's Triple Burgers and Cedar Point Ice Cream is amazing, the coke and pepsi is sweet and I can see why it's addictive.
Golfie Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 I had an Aero bar once. They're designed with tiny bubbles packed inside the bar so it feels like you're eating more than you actually are consuming. It tasted pretty great, but I won't be having any more candy bars until April 8th.

Wendy's Triple burgers....*Homer Simpson style drooling* I love those things. I go to Wendy's about once every week and get myself one or two of those things. You hear so much about McDonalds in this country, and Burger King, but I'm all about Wendy's. I'd go to Hardee's/Carl's Jr too, if we had one in this area.

Yet you guys think the same about our chocolate which we consider to be average compared to yours! I've found very very few Brits that prefer American candy bars. Most of them tell me "it's crap!" As I said it's really weird, all my friends who have tried both tend to like the American stuff more! Why i'm not a great fan of normal Hershey Bar's, I would gladly trade virtually any British chocolate (bar Matchmakers)for the Cookies and Cream flavour anyday! Also Jolly Ranchers and Nerds are two things I wish I stocked up on when I visited the States last Summer! God no. I dont know ANYONE who likes Hershey, it tastes waxy like baking chocolate! It is surprising with how fat America is seen as being (hey if you can insult our cuisine, we can call you fat! ), that they dont have very nice chocolate. I don't know why they are so good, but I guess as Elissa said, it is because they use better ingredients.

Actually, we have excellent chocolate. It's just that you have to buy premium brands that go for for ~$3-$5 for a smallish bar. If you go for the $0.79 crap at Quik-E-Mart, you're probably not going to get good stuff. I'm curious to try this British chocolate. I'll give it a whirl next time I hit up World Market. At least we don't call Sprite "lemonade".
reg Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 I guess being a Brit I take our chocolate for granted, but I must admit that I found Hersheys to be pretty bland, and not tasting very chocolaty at all. A few years ago I went to the Hershey factory in Oakdale CA, and had Kisses fresh of the production line. They tasted a little better, but still lacked a certain something that UK choccie has. I have friends who live in Everett, WA, and since their first visit to the UK a few years ago, Lisa fell in love with Penguin bars. Hence I shall be taking a 20 pack of Penguins to the USA this year!

Yeah the UK tend to call Sprite/7-Up "Lemonade", and not just those, the UK "Lemonade" is what the Spanish call "Gaseosa" literally meaning sugary fizzy drink, and the cheaper ones dont taste of lemon at all. What the Spanish call "Limonada", and what you guys call Lemonade, we call "traditional lemonade" or "cloudy lemonade", and the stuff you call Lemonade that isnt fizzy, we call Lemon Barley Water.
