Update

Year 43

From last year:

NEW FOR HERSHEY'S HAWAIIAN ESCAPE - YEAR 43

Hershey prepares to bring back a classic with a new twist. Mine Mountain: Excavation will be the worlds first coaster to feature an "obtuse dive", coined by B&M mastermind Johny Canon. The dive will be the steepest in the universe, at over 100 degrees.

The ride will stand 16 stories over the park, becoming the tallest coaster at Hershey's Hawaiian Escape. B&M have featured several of their best products at the park and they feel this shall be no different.

The ride will soar through an overbank before roaring into a twisted mas of steel, dodging in and out of the new Mine Mountain. The park intends for this to be the classic revision of the ride that closed decades ago.

Hawaiian Escape opens for its 43rd season soon.

Mine Mountain: Excavation - my new favorite.

This ride contains everything that makes up a great thrill ride.

Yeah, this is how Hershey does "beyond vertical".

Recognize this shot?

The ride is classified as a B&M Hybride Mine Train, much like Gladiator at Geboldi Earth.

The beyond-vertical sensation is crazy.

The overbank is nearly a true inversion.

From the entrance plaza...

Into the mountain the train goes.

The train hits a MCBR after the overbank to slow down for the "mine mountain" section of the ride.

More soon!

Update

Year 43

The second half of MME is as crazy as the first!

Lots of airtime right here!

Never-before-seen shot!

Here you can see what little the park had to work with, hence the odd-looking "mountain".

The ride speeds out over the entrance area.

...And it's back into the mountain.

There are a few helix-moments inside the mountain.

The "terrain" section isn't that terrain-y.

Park overview.

Another park overview.

Large lift hills are needed at this park...

More soon.

MM:E is sorta underwhelming to me. The first half is good with the crazy first drop and overbanked turn, but the second half, while it probably would be fun in real life, isn't very interesting. I was expecting more inversions aswell, and more theming.

It's a good ride, but definatly not a truely excellent one.

Update

Year 43

Cresting on Solar Flare.

Hershey's Hawaiian Cascades is having more success than the park (at the moment).

The park uses GTRR, (guest to ride ratio). They see how many guests are entering the gates with how many attrations.

I wouldn't be concerned - the park has had a ton of stuff ripped out in the last decade; they need some time to replinish.

Solar Flare marked the park's comeback, in a way.

The waterpark's mega-success won't last long, they have no more room to expand and if so what would they add?

The park has enough "gaps" that it can expand for a few more years without having to remove any major attractions.

But there isn't much the park hasn't had/doesn't have.

43 years of adding/removing has finally caught up with the park.

The waterpark was something that should have opened long ago, IMO, but I'm afraid they would have tried to place it in the actual park itself like HHE's sister park.

But as long as they have a steady stream of cars into the parking garage, all will be good.

More soon.

^ If anything, its foreshadowing the "ride park" demise. Which personally, I would not mind. I would love to see a huge, heavily themed water park. It would be something I have never seen in RCT3, and would be a nice breath of fresh air for this park and thread.

Other than that you are doing a good job on the parks, keep it up!

That would suck if the park closed, there have been plenty of huge heavily themed waterparks, go to ataricommunity.com.

Update

Year 43

[THE PICTURES OF MME IN THIS UPDATE WERE TAKEN BEFORE I 'FIXED' IT]

Sun sets on the Bay Lake Boardwalk area.

Kaena Point Falls always looks good at dusk.

Mine Mountain looking great as well.

There's still a good amount of room to expand back here.

The park seems to glow at this time of day.

The Volcanic towers over the horizon.

Wanna stay here? You'll have to book about 9 months in advance.

More soon.

Update

Year 43

Short update for today... The season's coming to a close and things are slowing down.

Solar Flare is still holding the spot for the favorite ride at the park, even with MME!

The Cascades weren't too busy today...

You're looking at over 4 decades of "history".

Where will they expand next?

It'll be interesting.

Tantalus might have to go, but I hope not...

The Skylift got stuck! Thankfully no one was hurt.

The park should be announcing Year 44 plans any day now. Don't look for anything big, though.

More soon.

Year 44 Announcement

HERSHEY ANNOUNCES SEVERAL ADDITIONS TO HERSHEY HAWAII

Hershey promises to greatly increase it's customer satisfaction to an even higher level.

POINTE RESTAURANTE

Greeting entering guests, the new water-surrounded restaurant will serve hawaiian cuisine along with well-known American favorites.

EXTENDED HOURS

Hershey's Hawaiian Escape will extend each operating day by an hour during the Year 44 season. The park will now stay open until midnight on all weekends, all season long.

PLATINUMPASS

Hershey is also releasing a new pass that will allow guests to visit all hershey entertainment properties including Hershey's Hawiian Escape, Hershey's Hawaiian Cascades, and Hersheypark.

This year is focused soley on you, the guest of Hershey!

I'm really starting to like the new entrance plaza, even though I still miss Tidal Wave.

Surf continues to please the guests.

What a shot...

One of the few "Year 1" attractions still remaining.

Phoenix is another that still remains, but in a different spot.

Surf signage. Nothing else here.

The skylift is back to normal after last week's incident.

The Boardwalk was looking somewhat empty today...

Tantalus. Kissing Tower. In one shot.

They've widened this pathway connecting the entrance plaza and the boardwalk - it looks alot nicer now.

More soon.
