Villain Begins Reconstruction

It looks as though they are finaly working on Villain. They are flattening the track where the trick track use to be so that should make the ride a bit more enjoyable.

I never quite "got" that whole element anyway. Thought it was pretty stupid on both Villian and Shivering Timbers.

The thing is, is that they had it at a section of the track where the train was running at it's highest speed. If they had it towards the end where it was slower, it wouldn't of bashed people around.

That was a very dumb spot for it to be. King Cobra's trick track was towards the end and it was fun. That one looked like it would of hurt

When I rode the Villian back in 2001 it was smooth and very enjoyable but last few seasons it gave me bruises almost everytime I rode it. Hopefully flatening out the trick track makes the villian more enjoyable.

The trick track I will not miss. I'm glad that Villain is getting work, though, as I love that coaster.

I'm really happy about this retracking. I don't even have to go to Geauga Lake to ride this coaster. All I have to do is wait a few more seaons until CF moves this coaster over to PKI. Then PKI will have a rideable woodie again! Thank you Cedar Fair.

I've never had a good ride on Villan. I hope this retracking changes that.

I agree... Never got the trick track thing... Boulder Dash has one and I can't help but think they prolly could have added another little air hill there instead.

Funny story. The first time I rode Villan, I was towards the back of the train and it was dark out, and I didnt even know there was a trick track! I honestly didnt realize it untill I rode in the front row, and I was like "WTF, how long has THIS been here?!?" then I was knocked out. The ride is really fun, but its rough as balls, without those G-Trains it would run a LOT better....

I knew there was trick track there, but I didn't even feel it when I rode it in 2003. The whole ride didn't track well, and I was a little let down that I didn't get to "feel" the trick track.

 

They should have added a small airtime hill instead of just a straight speed section.

i'm so glad to know it was not taken outta the SF park and it's also

got re-tracked for some kind of comfort ride sensations!

 

i guess that ride has lots of painful bumps in the turn.

I actually didn't realize there was even trick track on this ride either. I was too busy desperately trying to brace my neck to notice anything else.

It really is shame that Six Flags let the ride get so bad. It is an amazing, air-filled ride when it's running well. I'm not one to complain about roughness on coasters, but even Villain makes me uncomfortable. I still ride in the last seat over and over again whenever I go, however.

I believe that 'hate' is a very strong word, and should only be used sparingly and when you are absolutely sure it is necessary.

 

That being said, I HATE G-trains, and they should all die a horrible death..

Call me stupid but I rode this beast and still have no freakin' idea what "trick track" is.

Can someone please show me a picture and explain so I can further my roller coaster knowledge.

^It's straight piece of track where the track rocks to the left and then to the right (or vice versa). It's meant to make it feel like the train is breaking lose from the track.

Some of the CCI ones though, like Villain, only banked to one side.

 

Here's a picture of Boulder Dash's, which is very similar:

 

 

It's a pretty fun element, but it doesn't really age well. It either gets flat and you can't feel it, or very rough.

One of the best examples are from one of the Togo standups at the Paramount parks. But I couldn't' seem to find a picture of the trick track section.

Eh, I figured it was easy if you look at the rails, since the left is much higher than the right, but the pic you're referring to is much clearer. The pic I'm assuming you mean is here.

Though on the Togo that element is pretty slow, and not to rough.

 

Trick track on wooden coasters taken at full speed are pretty much just there to rough you up.
