robbalvey Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Hey everyone! Since we were out getting pics of Blackpool, we decided we'd head over Camelot and see if the rumors were true. Is Kobe Portipialand's BMR-X sitting on site there? Click here to find out: http://www.themeparkreview.com/camelot2007/camelot1.htm Ahh, hell.....we'll just show you a photo or two anyway! Does this answer the question: "Hey, everyone! I'm Lou. The high class british porn star! And I'll make you a GREAT deal on a stack of used tires for your car!" Although, quite a lot of the pieces didn't look in very good shape. I do hope this is really in "storage" and not in the "junk yard." Anyway, click here to see the rest of our little adventure...and you can even win a night in a cheap motel room with Lou! http://www.themeparkreview.com/camelot2007/camelot1.htm --Robb
BarryH Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Excellent photos! If Lou sat in the coaster train, is that a credit?
GMAN962 Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Hey Robb! Nice pictures. Did you ever get that double decker.....? Yes.....?......You gonna eat that? -Mike
cfc Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Double Deckers rule! I'd like to think that Camelot didn't ship all that track to the UK just to let it rust away in a field. Looked like it was a fun ride in Japan.
Ccron10 Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Why did they keep those park signs, not that many people in England read japanese! One thing's for sure the coaster's a fixer-upper. I don't understand.
BeatleBen Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Definitely liked the nod to Michael Nesmith's Elephant Parts. I'm surprised someone else has seen that video. I even own it. Quite possibly one of the funniest videos ever!!!
robbalvey Posted January 31, 2007 Author Posted January 31, 2007 Why did they keep those park signs, not that many people in England read japanese! Did you READ the caption? They were using the signs as packing material. Definitely liked the nod to Michael Nesmith's Elephant Parts. I'm surprised someone else has seen that video. I even own it. Quite possibly one of the funniest videos ever!!! I'm actually shocked someone else got that too!!! --Robb
DenDen Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Well darn, I'd play "Guess that track" and email Dan, but I'm a flamer. Lou's boobs would do me no good in a cheap motel.
XII Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Cool. Glad to hear BMRX is getting a new home. It looked fun.
robbalvey Posted January 31, 2007 Author Posted January 31, 2007 Well darn, I'd play "Guess that track" and email Dan, but I'm a flamer. Lou's boobs would do me no good in a cheap motel. You could probably have Dan instead. I'm sure he wouldn't mind!
Shockwave Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 That ride doesn't look like it's in much of a state to get fixed. But stranger things have happened. Lou on the other hand...
thomas2 Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Haha the first photo is like as if a train crashed. And Lou is enjoying it Seriously this ride looks good on the POV so it nice to see it saved. Plus it's a Schwarzkopf so it should be preserved!
Louise Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 ^ I was balanced very precariously.... Stupid Robb actually got both Double Deckers in the end I think, I never ate mine!! And if Old Jeff is reading this, check out the socks, that picture was for you!
crazyrider06 Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Great pictures Rob! So Lou I can use some tires wanna sell me some lol
bgwfreak Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Poor Lou. Any woman besides Elissa that can put up with him, I have a lot of admiration for.
Scaparri Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Its the Gauntlet, the old looping star! I WIN!!! I WIN!!!! Now when do I get to redeem my prize!?!?
Louise Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Poor Lou. Any woman besides Elissa that can put up with him, I have a lot of admiration for. LMAO, Elissa deserves medals for bravery, I can put up with him for like ten hours max. She's been doing it for YEARS. On a serious note actually, I do owe Robb a thank you for the crazy track-searching, it was kinda fun. Cheers dude! ^ LOL Scott!
Jayjay719 Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Great pictures guys! Its awesome seeing a coaster being saved. But Lou does looks like the train crashed and she's liking it lol.
BeemerBoy Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 ^ A couple things here. At over 2,600 feet long, Knightmare is one of the world's longest roller-coasters IS being constructed at the park, and will open 'late spring 2007', in time for the summer season. Really? Looking at those pics, I'd have to stop and seriously consider placing a bet on that. I hope I'm wrong, but, hmmmm. Camelot don't really want any local media to see the ride just yet Can't imagine why. It's just really odd to see a coaster which just finished #36 in Mitch's poll lying in such a state of seemingly "disrepair."
Shockwave Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Sad and Pathetic, dude. And that's all I'm saying on that matter. But all the best to the park, because it's gonna take a lot of hard work to get that thing ready for the summer!
niiicolaaah Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 That article is so stupid. At over 2,600 feet long, Knightmare is one of the world’s longest roller-coasters and is one of only two of its kind in the world. Let's look at this claim, using RCDB. The world's 10 longest STEEL coasters are all AT LEAST twice as long as that. The 10 longest steel coasters in EUROPE are all longer. So does that make this like... one of the longest Schwarzkopf coasters in England? And one of only two of its kind in the world... One of the only two Schwarzkopf coasters that have been relocated from Japan to England? One of the only two Schwarzkopf coasters that originally opened in 1987? I'm so confused.
Shockwave Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 That's marketing for you! We know what parks are like for promoting their rides. Let's face it, no-one really cares that the longest steel coaster is about 4 times the length of this. Not even me. I really don't care what they say, as long as this ride does what the park need it to do, and help the park become a success again.
Carnage Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 That's marketing for you! We know what parks are like for promoting their rides. Let's face it, no-one really cares that the longest steel coaster is about 4 times the length of this. Not even me. You should care though. Don't you realize that next May you'll get to ride the worlds longest steel roller coaster. (Dragon Mountain @ Marineland)* *20 years ago it was, but Marineland STILL uses the "worlds largest steel roller coaster" advertisements.
robbalvey Posted January 31, 2007 Author Posted January 31, 2007 Apparently there has been an official press release made: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=327275 Although it's kind of odd that it wasn't released to the newswire. --Robb
cfc Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 They saw your update and thought, "Oh, bloody hell! Better make an announcement!"
