Hey all you European disney people...

A mate and I are going to unleash our Australian-ness on Disneyland Paris in a few weeks around Feb 13 for a few days, and I've got a few questions that I'm hoping someone can answer for me...

How long would you recommend for the parks? At the moment they're running a buy 2 nights, get 1 free package, so we've got pretty much three days planned. Looking around the site and knowing what I do from the attractions at other Disney parks I can see myself filling two days, but what do you think?

How busy will it be around this time? We're going midweek, so hopefully that'll work in our favour.

We're probably going to stay at Sequoia - any reasons to definitely stay here or to avoid it? I'm open to suggestions!

Thanks guys

When I went to DLP before the UK trip, I spent 2 days at the park. Disney Studios is easy to finish off in a day, but Disneyland Paris took me a day with careful planning and I missed a few things! 3 days should be fine. If you finish early, you can hit Parc Asterix for a day.

I stayed at the Santa Fe and it was fine with me.

i think in this days there are no people in the parks... i think there are an option that you can repite the rides as you want whith only one queue. The studios are very small but now you can see that they are expand with a lot of new rides this park

We stayed at the Sequoia on the Europe trip...it's a little bit of a walk (but not horrible by any means) to the parks, but it was a great hotel.

The lounge/bar had some good drinks, the "Beaver Creek Tavern" had some awesome meat on a stick food to eat, and the rooms were on par with a Marriot or Hilton (3/4 star).

Yeah and the Sequoia is actually the 3rd closest to the park.

Disneyland Hotel is the closest, then the New York one, then Sequoia, then Newport, then Cheyenne and Santa Fe.

Three days should be plenty. It's a beautiful resort, but not too much to do after two days.

hey guys! Hope you have a great visit there. Me and David will be there in April. I am planning to get myself a Fantasy Annual Pass which more than covers a three days+ visit for myself...

But three days is fine for an all-over visit with the resort. Do a full day with the Magic Kingdom first. Take advantage of the FastPass system. You can now, I have been told, just go around the park to all the fast pass stations at attractions, and use your entrance card for whatever times are (then) available. Up to you if you plan to use them, etc.

Then, start the second day at the Studios, and if you start there at opening time, go with 'AniMagique' (to your left as you exit the Main Stage 1 entrance bldg.). You can immediately follow it by hitting the 'Cinemagique' show, if the schedules work it right like when we've been before. One easily follws the other with little time waiting to be seated and the show started.

After Cinemagique, you are probably ready for the first Moteurs! Action! Stunt show to be running that day.

After the 3 shows, you then work your way back, towards the Studio Tram Tour with Rock'n'Roller Coaster, Armaggedon Spec.EffX show, and the Animation show. Or only the coaster if that's only what you want.

Do the tram tour, pick your "Language Aisle" heh heh... and you're done!

Bonus Points for ya if you go on the Flying Carpets after that, as you'll get a nice "preview" of how the new Toon Studios is looking, from the ride itself if you stay 'high' up there, heh heh.

Fit eating in where and when you can. And if you are in a park hopper kinda 'mood', you will probably end your day at the studios with a few hours to spare for the MK again, if you want to revisit, same day, etc.

Third day could be a combo of both parks, but getting back to stuff you missed, want to do again. And throwing in a balloon ride there at Lake Disney hmmm? PanoraMagique? Think that's what it's called. 12 Euros each for a six minute ride 'up there' I think it is costing now.

If you want to do "The Legend of The Lion King" show in Discoveryland, you will end up using more park time for this than you might want to use - and might not be worth your while this visit 'round. Remember, it's a condensed version of the movie, and not really the Broadway show, although costumes and effects, as well as the whole show itself, are supposed to be great. (we're going to try and catch it this visit 'round, lol)

But then again - this 'package' deal you're getting may include a perk at getting tix easier than us "civvies" who bypass the package format, lol. There are now "Magic Mornings & Evenings" being offered (two extra hours' visit either before opening or after closing of...) some days of the week to those who are staying at the hotels etc. So derfinitely take advantage of that, if you get it which you probably will, depending on the days you are staying there.

Hope some or any of this helps you out. Again, hope you enjoy the parks. And NOT just for the coasters either, LOLOL!

Key to success: Fast Pass

With three days, take two days for Disneyland, one for the Studios.

Day one: Disneyland

-> ride as much as you can, use the park map as a tick list

Day two: Studios

-> you should be able to ride & see everything

Day three: Disneyland

-> ride whatever you missed on day one, and ride again what you like, maybe see a parade

Don't forget the attractions easily missed by most:

Storybook Land, Nemo's submarine, the Robinson tree house, the Sleeping Beauty castle tour, the dragon's cave underneath, Skull Rock, the labyrinth of Alice in Wonderland, etc.

1. You should check the opening hours as Disney Studios is closed earlier than Disney Park and you can always move from the Studios to the other park later.

2. Another thing is that some rides may be closed during winter so check it too. If there are too many closed rides

3. One more consideration is if you are there during weekend as it may be more crowded even during winter.

4. Check if there is any national holiday in Spain or France during your dates. Spanish love this park so much and if there's an holiday park may be crowded.

About the hotle. After spending the whole day walking from one place to another non stop, I did't care too mcuh about my hotel. I just took a hot shower with the rest of my energy and went to bed, so I don't think the Diseny Hotel is an issue as long as it got a bed and a shower.

If you want to get the Diseny Breakfast which is free, order you place in advance !!! places are takes very fast.

I thought it was Hunter's Grill that did the meat on skewers thing?

I'm gonna be at DLP for the first time on 1st and 2nd of February and that's where we were planning on going for dinner. Can anyone confirm which restaurant does the meat on sticks? I take it I should be making reservations for that meal before hand?

Also, when you get a Fast Pass how long do you have to wait before you can get another one?

Thanks nev for starting this thread as it reminded of a couple questions that sprung to mind earlier that I would have probably forgot to ask before!

If you stay at any DLP hotel, you can take the bus from the hotel to the parks and back. Some of the offsite hotels nearby also have a shuttle bus.

I doubt you'll need to use fastpass I went last year in January and the parks were totally empty. Walk-on on every single ride and attraction. By the way... it was a blast!!! Have fun!!

Also, when you get a Fast Pass how long do you have to wait before you can get another one?

Word I have read is, you still cannot get a second immediate FastPass from same attraction machine after getting one already. With the same passport.

But - you CAN go around to all of the attractions in the park that offer FastPass, take your chance at getting good (and separate) times and you've got them all - or at least the ones you want to get. And use.

They have got them all working individually from each other, from what I make out. So it's just a matter of every machine spitting out it's 'share' of time passes per hour, etc. untill it runs out of "times" lol. S0eparately.

All a question of timing, with each attraction's FastPass machine you get to, etc. hmm?

that's interesting to know that Paris' fastpass system is entirely 'disconnected'. anyone confirm this? I may actually try the park in summer if that's the case!

Posted

If it is true, I definitely intend to "try it out" one of the days I am at the park.

From March this year the Fast Pass system will change and will be connected to each other like it was at the beginning .

i don't have any dates of those changes .

^ Oh well.

And I must ask you - is it also true that you can ONLY use a one-day passport as partial payment to pay for an Annual Passport like the Fantasy or Dream Passports?

I have one day's entry left on three separate park-hopper passes. One is a two-day pass. The other two are old three-day passes. All of the passes are still good till mid-October. I thought I could use one of these as part of my payment in getting an Annual Fantasy Passport... but no?

If I can't use either of them, I will still buy an Annual Pass as after three visits to the parks, it has paid for itself, lol.

Thought I'd ask, since you (^) live right there by the parks, yes?

(EDIT: Post #3053! It's a random numbers things with me, lol.)

uf you still got the receipt you can try to get an annual pass but DLRP are extremely strict about this.

I Think it's the day that you bought one day park hopper ticket but i as said i'm not sure about their rules .

^ Thanks anyway.

I intend to take the park hopper passes along, get over to the Customer Service desk there at the right of the park's entrance... and find out.

Here's where I can find out.... before I head into the park.

Hi all,

Im new to this board but thought i would give some advice as Paris is my 'local' Disney!

Fastpass is now connected across the parks. I visited new year and they have switched to the Floridian system of printing 'you can get another fastpass at......' and the systems don't let you get another until your current one is used up.

Hope this helps!

Thanks heaps guys... really looking forward to it now...

Lou - get on a train and come, you know you want to

Cheers

Pfft.... uni.. lame excuse methinks

Nah gotta still get Tokyo... but we all know that's coming up soon!

Yeah stayed at hte Sequia lodge a few years ago and it was gorgeous.

Makes you fell like your in a real log cabin. I'm going back there again in MArch for Paddys day. Can't wait.

The minute you get to the hotel ask for your smart tips book and read it throughly cause it tells you times and places for getting early in the park and meets and greets and such.

things are cheaper in the village than in the parks especially food.

Definitly fastpass buzz lightyear cause he'll have the biggest queue. Oh make sure when you go in the castle go up the stair case on the left and walk around the upstairs of the castle.

Also get the train around the whole perimmiter cause you see some cool shots and certain things when going through tunnels.

I'd advise only 4 or 5 hours for the movie studios.

My advice would be Anetts diner over planet hollywood. It is a rip off and not nice food.

anyway enjoy

Enjoy
