coasters 4 me Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Hey, This is my first NL coaster. It is a Maurer Sohne Spinning Coaster with some nice scenery. The G's are controlled well and the speed is pretty good. Also, this coaster features a corkscrew, which is pretty unique. Also, it requires NL 1.6. Please download and comment. Thanks Vertex.nltrack The coaster Pic
music11 Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Can we see some more pics for the people that dont have NL espically the corkscrew?
coasters 4 me Posted December 16, 2006 Author Posted December 16, 2006 Here are some more pics. Enjoy. And another over view. More Track Overbank....Kind of bad picture. Corkscrew!! Random Track... Overview...
music11 Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 That coaster is insane as is that corkscrew. that would be sick if one of these coasters actually had a corkscrew.
Xme3 Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 Imagine how reeeedonkulous it would be if a spinning coaster like that had an inversion!
the sound Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 Nice work! This is awesome stuff Ryan, great job. The scenery looks good to
christianscoasters Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 That is really good! If I had my own amusement park, I would put the same exact spinner in. I would probably add another corkscrew though.
kennywood!007 Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 Wow! That looks awesome. I really need to get NL
coasters 4 me Posted December 17, 2006 Author Posted December 17, 2006 Whao, thanks for the nice comments everyone. Although this coaster is pretty smooth, I sort of cheated with the "Smooth" tool in NL 1.6 But anyways, I will probably make another Spinning Coaster or something. I really like making them. Even in NL, they seem to be different everytime you ride them.
165loops Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Nice coaster, how long did it take to build? also spinning and the corkscrew was cool
Blazen_AZN Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 I already told you this but... Nice coaster, even if i couldn't tell wtf was going on half the time... the way a good spinning caoster SHOUld work.
Satoshi Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 that NL ride's real awesome! good thin' Mack spinnin' coaster's got a new style o' flat spin! but the ride itself is kinda way too spinnin' round cuz i felt some vertigos..... oh freakin' no!
coasters 4 me Posted December 18, 2006 Author Posted December 18, 2006 Nice coaster, how long did it take to build? also spinning and the corkscrew was cool It took me about 2 weeks to build. Including the scenery and supports. Although I only spent about 30mins-2hrs a day on it or so. that NL ride's real awesome! good thin' Mack spinnin' coaster's got a new style o' flat spin! but the ride itself is kinda way too spinnin' round cuz i felt some vertigos..... oh freakin' no! This coaster really differs each time you ride it. The part were it goes into the sort of Wild Mouse Coaster part, sometimes when I ride, it hardly spins at all, and then sometimes it spins like hell going around that. I dunno why....maybe thats one of the unique features of NL, not one ride on spinning coasters are the same. Glad you liked it Mark, even though you didnt know where you where. I was wondering, should I put a video or something up of it? For all those peeps that dont have NL?
the sound Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 ^ That might be a good idea, putting up a video of it.
coasters 4 me Posted December 19, 2006 Author Posted December 19, 2006 I have uploaded the video onto Youtube. The quality on youtube turn out quite bad, But awell. Here is the video anyway. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKVUkvtxO7I
the sound Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 I watched the video on You Tube. It was pretty good, but it sort of lacked a bit of speed heading into the overbanked turn. But otherwise, it was really impressive, especially the drop going into the corckscrew. Nice work
coasterfan200692 Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 There were some G problems, but thats probably because I don't have 1.6. Also, some of the hills that were banked were shaped strange and jerked. not bad though.
coasters 4 me Posted December 20, 2006 Author Posted December 20, 2006 ^^Yeah, the coaster does lack speed in some parts. I really should have tried to make it abit faster. But it still seems to be good with some slow parts. ^There are quite a few pumps/jerks. There is one heading into the first brake, then going down into the drop and overbank, and the drop into the corkscrew is quite bad as well. I sort of rushed the ending part as well. I am actually really surprised loads of people like it. It is my first NL coaster and so many nice comments. Thanks a lot you guys!
jason10 Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Cool coaster. I downloaded the demo of No Limits to see if I could download tracks and guess what? You can't. How suckish. Looks like a good coaster.
Ed Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Corkscrew = Bad. Sorry to be a bummer but it just isn't realistic an a spinning coaster. You could get some really messed up G's going through it. It's a shame cause the ride was really good!
NitroRider Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 That was pretty sweet BUT it didn't really seem like a spinning coaster (in amount of spinning) until the mouse like section.
Calaway Park Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 That was pretty sweet BUT it didn't really seem like a spinning coaster (in amount of spinning) until the mouse like section. EDIT - I remade my post below as I recently found out NoLimits doesn't calculate rotational G-Forces.
coasters 4 me Posted January 4, 2007 Author Posted January 4, 2007 The corkscrew does seem a bit unrealistic. But why not? The Laterals and Vertical G's seem to be fine. Apart from being a bit dizzy. I know someone who made a Spinning Coaster with an Inline Twist. It was pretty funky and seems good. Anyway, I am thinking of making another Spinning Coaster...sort of like VerTex's big brother. Called VerTex². Ryan "Glad People Like My Coaster" Berry
Calaway Park Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 See, the corkscrew is a great thought, but NoLimits doesn't take in the rotational G-Forces on spinning coasters. Depending on the weight imbalance, someone could get hurt.
Golfie Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Haha! That was really fun! The layout is really awesome and transitions very well. You definitely succeded at giving that spinning-coaster-out-of-contol feel to Vertex. ^Rotational G's = Lateral G's when on a spinning coaster.
