BrownStreak Posted November 9, 2006 Author Posted November 9, 2006 Not all of us have significant enough hills for skiing or tubing- this post was started kinda as a joke
Carnage Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 ^ You live in Cleveland, you can't be that far away from some sort of ski or tube hills. /guess the joke went over my head.
cprocks22 Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Up here in Michigan, there is a 60 foot high tobbagon ride with 2 airtime hills, and can go over speeds of 40 mph. That thing is so much fun, i need to go again this year. I go sking, possibly learining to snowboard this year. Theres a ski hill (Boyne Mountain) near my cottage up north where theres an awsome run with some very very nice airtime going down
benzo41190 Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 I snowboard at a resort by my house. I also, go down this big ass hill tubing next to our high school which is really fun. It is in a valley so you don't have to walk that far at the bottom of the hill We also go driving on some good airtime hills by my house which is fun. We go in my friends jeep which is REALLY heavy. So when you go over them, you get tons of ejector air. We tried it in a car, but it was just like weightless which isn't that fun. Once we got a pop (in the jeep)that was compared to hades, last seat, second hill on the double down, before the lift. It felt like -2 Gs......FUN FUN!
jamesdillaman Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Anyone who's been knows the words: Boa Squeeze! That's all there is in the winter. Even had an ACE meetup there once. Hilarious and sad at the same time. -James Dillaman
Gnome Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Lets just say it involves a 2-liter soda bottle, paper clips, a lamp shade, and a whole lotta Vaseline! -Jahan What do you use those paper clips for?
IceDragon Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 idea: you will need 1) rope (lots of it) 2) skateboard 3) car/bike 4) yourself (or some other stupid idiot to test it) method: 1) tie rope to back of car/bike 2) sit on the skateboard 3) hold on to the rope for dear life 4) get someone to pedal/drive really fast over hills, etc. or... get 2 friends to hold onto a length of rope. find a hill or something and sit on the skateboard or whatever. place rope (with somesort of padding) on your back. get your friends to pull really hard in oppoite directions which will launc you foreward. hold on and ask if they can bounce you to and fro for more fun
Satoshi Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 let ya slide down from hill's top is a good example o' blowin' steams off in winter when you're not willin' to ride on coasters!
Movieguy Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I'm a little too clumsy for skiing, but there are a few spots here for toboganing I think.
coastervekoma Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 RIDE COASTRERS !!!!!!!!! I am sooo glad i live in CA.
Tömmioh Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 Snowblading is really great in Winter, especially a 'semi-off-ride' area on my nearest ski resort, as there are lots of made hills and turns, which pretty much gives the same experiences than on a coaster. Though, most of the time in Winter I have quite boring times. In terms of coasters, I watch some videos, look at pics and just 'dream'.
jedimaster1227 Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Ryan's home-made Vekoma might work. You'd have to ask to borrow it though...
BarryH Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 I've said it once and I'll say it again... I love living in Florida because... 1.) No snow 2.) No state sales tax 3.) You can ride roller coasters in winter Besides, I can laugh at my friends up north when they're knee deep in snow and I'm enjoying 80 degree weather! You can also move to SoCal...
