Here's a press release from Chance Morgan that announces cooperation between the two companies in the US. Here is the link:

Another interesting development is the Chance Morgan logo now appearing at the bottom of the Unicoaster website. Maybe Chance is working with Bill Kitchen to realize this ride.

Anyone know more about either?

1 horseman down.

3 to go.

But, this isn't a merger, yet. It's a cooperative agreement for the U.S. market only.

The best part of the press release is:

Vekoma Rides and Chance Morgan are pleased to be able to serve the U.S. market with innovative rides and high quality rides and attractions.

So, now making the same POS head-bashing boomerang over and over again is "innovative" and "high quality". Cute.

Yea, as much was we'd like to bash Vekoma, they have done wonders. I would be no amusement ride provider has filed as many patents in the past 20 years as Vekoma, and their pricing has made big coasters more affordable for a wider range of parks.

They really are GOOD for the industry if you ask me

I would beat you up and throw you into a river if I didn't havet o agree that the SLC at my home park is actually fun and enjoyable.

I think Vekoma gets too much of a bad rep on internet boards. I think to the average park goer, most of their rides are fine. I've actually got two Vekomas in my top 10 right now (Deja Vu and Batwing).

^^^With all due respect to the newfound Vekoma appreciation, Deja Vus(at least the one Ive been on at SFMM) still suck.

^scaringly enough, it is... I mean... aren't the most dangerous rides the most interesting and fun to ride?

That's certainly possible. Personally, I'd rather see parks with budgetary concerns build actual good rides with that money, like maybe GCII or GG woodies. That makes more sense to me than investing millions in bad steel. High quality Vekoma ain't.

My coaster count isn't very large so I'm not expecting it to stay there very long. That said, the Deja Vu I rode (at SFoG) was the most intense coaster I've ever been on and that earns it a top ten spot. It did not suck at all, but to each his own.

Don't know about the Deja Vu's but I for one loved Stunt Fall. It was really good, fun and smooth. But that's probably because Stunt Fall is in Europe and it isn't in a Six Flags park

Bah! They make good Woodies themselves, besides there rides tend to take little space and most parks dont have much space while woodies do take a bit of space (And some parks dont like woodies, dont know why )

But I do agree with you, Build more GG woodies

GCII twisters don't take up all that much room. Look at the relative small footprints of Kentucky Rumbler and Thunderhead. Those are both solid rides. Do you think Beech Bend would have gotten any attention this year had they just haphazardly threw a boomerang into the corner? Now they have the best coaster in the state. I personally just don't see what parks gain from installing bad rides.

Or, what about the Avalanche at Timber Falls? That's in my top 10, and they jammed it in around a mini golf course!

I think it might be the maintenance that turns parks off to woodies. It's actually a lot of work, and very few places do it well.

Gravity Group has a nice start. I hope they can get a bunch more rides installed soon.

To who - enthusiasts with hundreds of coaster rides around the world, or the local public?

What I'm curious about is the Unicoaster; the gallery pictures on the website make this thing look like a couple seats hung off the side of a shopping cart. More like a napkin sketch than what the final ride will look like.

To anyone who gets a headache from their "high quality" rides.

I've been on a Boomerang, and it was nowhere near as bad as people say they are. In fact, it was a darn smooth ride! And it was fun! Not even close to headache material for me.

Then we rode the backwards Vekoma that was at SFNO. Not bad at all. About one or two jolts during the entire ride. Is that bad? No! That ride had one of the most intense vertical loops I had ever experienced.

Deja Vu is one of the most intense rides in the world. The towers are two of the scariest moments ever created on a roller coaster, if not the scariest. And that ride has no headbanging either. It's not as smooth as glass, but it's nowhere near headbanging or 'headache' level.

Are these headache-enducing rides? Not from my experience. In fact, I find them to be enjoyable, fun rides. Not top ten material, but fun.

Vekoma offers good products for reasonable prices--far more reasonable than the latest Intamin or B&M. I truly believe that Vekoma is good for the industry. Hopefully with their latest technological advances and this alliance, Vekoma will offer more products in more places.
