PhishyBrewer Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Sorry for this stupid little post, but I'm trying to find out when Solace is for next year. I start picking my 2007 vacation days in couple weeks and needed to know the dates. I couldn't find anything through google, yahoo or even the ACE website. Does it usually happen the same time every year? Thanks, Wally "The drunk yelling at the ACER's during the Solace dinner" Weiss
CoasterFanatic Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Not a dumb post. Catrina and I want to know also. Anyone out there got any info. I know that they used to announce the date pretty far in advance.
methylene Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 From my research planning next March's SoCal trip, Solace is always the second weekend of March, putting 2007's on the 10th. I'll be in town for Solace but will be at diznee that weekend- I plan to have a bit quieter of a day at Knott's that Thursday (the 15th). Matt
CoasterFanatic Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 ^ It was the first weekend in 2004 (March 6).
methylene Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Either way I get to avoid the fatties by waiting until the 15th. Matt
robbalvey Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Solace is never the same time of the year. Lately it's been in March, but I've seen it as early as January or February, and I'm pretty sure it was even 1st weekend of April one year. I would just wait for Knott's to announce the date. --Robb "It also depends on if Easter week is early or late too...." Alvey
PhishyBrewer Posted September 23, 2006 Author Posted September 23, 2006 You know Ted, if you guys do make it out again next year, we'll have to make a little side trip to Stone. You have to try the Arrogant Bastard onion rings.
Coaster Palooza Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Sorry to bring this up from the dead, and I hope that this is correct. I found the following information at this link: http://www.aceonline.org/events/ Winter Coaster Solace. March 2-3, 2007. Knott's Berry Farm (Buena Park, CA). I don't see anything on Knott's Berry Farm's site though.
PhishyBrewer Posted October 16, 2006 Author Posted October 16, 2006 Thanks Rick! They just must of added it that to the site. Karen, Gavin and I are going to make it down for '07. How about you and Gwen?
Jew Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 I hope they go back to actually trying for the event...
PhishyBrewer Posted October 16, 2006 Author Posted October 16, 2006 ^What do you mean Joey? Just curious. I've only done it once so I don't really know what to fully expect.
Jew Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 They went from speakers, exhibits (coaster trains and what not), backstage tours, and special events for hotel package guests only to the same bland itenerary of "ERT, Food, Raffle" and an extra dinner+extra ERT for hotel guests...Hell, they even have mixed solace in with another park buyout!
DerekRx Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 ^Yeah, nothing was worse than the year the "special hotel ERT" was shared with the honor students celebration. They may be smart and get good grades, but they're still really obnoxious and stupid when it comes to amusement parks! Needless to say, that was the last year I did that event with the hotel stay.
SharkTums Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Looks like I'll book the cool new rec room for the TPR Party!
PhishyBrewer Posted October 17, 2006 Author Posted October 17, 2006 Looks like I'll book the cool new rec room for the TPR Party! Last year was a Tatsu themed party, what will 2007 bring? Deconstruction party???
SharkTums Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 ^We can only hope!!! Seriously though, I have a theme in mind...we'll see!
PhishyBrewer Posted October 17, 2006 Author Posted October 17, 2006 ^Can there be strippers this time... please?
PhishyBrewer Posted October 17, 2006 Author Posted October 17, 2006 ^Be just enough time to get ripped. So yeah... sure!!!
knottslover77 Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 How old do you have to be? How do you get tickets for the event? --Jay
Guy T. Koepp Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 ^Are you offering your services? I'll give out lap dances! I should be getting in shape for the Polar Plunge about that time anyway. Should be a good excuse to show off the new bod! Being as I should have just graduated from my weight loss boot camp right around that time. Between that and finishing my laser hair removal treatments in February. I will be a lean, mean, hairless pure sex machine! However, I think I know what theme Elissa might be thinking of. So me grindin' my ass and shakin' my junk in a thong will fit in well. Just my 2 cents.
65skylark Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 ^ TPR wouldn't be the same place without your 2 cents. Wally, Sandi and I were thinking about doing Solace without the kids this year but if your bringing Karen and Gavin along maybe we will bring the kids too. You planning a day or two at Disney I assume?
Coaster Palooza Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Wally, we are definitely planning on being there, but if you and Guy are going to be "shaking the money maker" we might skip out. I still haven't seen anything posted on Knott's website though. I am hoping that the dates are correct! http://www.knotts.com/park/calendar/index.asp
