Erik Johnson Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 I certianly was not planning to go to 5 different parks today. I pretty much just set out to hit Universal/IOA to get a start on my annual Halloween Horror Nights construction updates. One thing led to another and I ended up hitting 5 parks. There are a TON of photos in this update and they are now all posted! Ok, that finishes the HHN constrction update, much more to come. Yet another area that will take days before Satan can move in. Pumpkinhead dude +1. Pumpkinhead dude. Trust me, this will look a lot different at night. Oh I wonder if those weird tennis shoe critters are coming back? This must be some sort of scare zone they are building. Scary evil Florida Spanish Moss. More scary HHN construction. Bye Bye BTTF store. 20 minute wait for a final ride? Ummmmmmmm, no thank you. Bye Bye BTTF. Last chance to take train pictures through the bushes/trees. Sure, I don't mind waiting 5 minutes for this one. That is right, Bill and Ted is going to be here this year. This is going to get much better in a few weeks. More HHN construction.....no wait. After capturing Number #6, these will be used for showing scary movie clips during HHN. OoooooooooOO....scary! Becareful of the Evil Pallet of Death. Ok, I found some HHN construction. It will be days before Satan as any power in this area. No love for Jimmy today at Universal. But that is ok, Pyy can handle these crowds. Boy, Blizz must really be in trouble. They have that little turn around section right after the express pass entrance closed off. They cleaned up the grounds underneath the coasters. Blizzrock forgot to take out the garbage, so he is grounded. Pyyrock has nobody to play with today. All nice and repainted. Oh heck yeah! Though it takes 10 minutes to walk the entire queue. That was so yesterday. I guess many people complained, so you can see what made it back on the menu. Quandary is a good word for this place. Especially when it is closed. Q is for Quan, Quan is for Quandary. More outside action. Wow, the animatronics look so real down below. This side has more dark ride moments than the other. Where should I go today? Yes, a driving machine. I needed the other Driving Machine credit. The Hulk looks to be a Florida Gator fan. I love Florida parks in September. I know HHN is not at IOA this year, but I want to ride some coasters. Just another excuse to drink beer I guess. I did not go inside. Bubba Gump's opened a few weeks ago. Yeah, more HHN ads. "Would you mind guarding my car today Ms. Tums?" "Sure, have a nice couple of hours at Uni/IOA." Hooray, the have put up the new HHN billboard.
Erik Johnson Posted September 11, 2006 Author Posted September 11, 2006 Sea World Orlando Well, I am in preferred so "HA! HA!" I guess they have not been fed in a while, this stingray was very hungry. Please no jokes that are considered bad taste, thank you. Oh, it is just the place where you spend $5 for some feeding fish. Oh wow, this attraction must be great. Look at that line! These people take pictures of your "Dolphin Experience". Please do not feed the dolphin your cell phone. Journey is still down... Jedimaster1227 wanted to say hello. Kraken is still in my top five steel coasters. I really like this one. Yeah, I guess I can go ride Kraken. I could not do Journey, it is shut down. I wonder which way I should go. Sea World Orlando. Yeah, its going to be the new Sea World waterpark.
Erik Johnson Posted September 11, 2006 Author Posted September 11, 2006 Ok onto Epcot and Disney/MGM. This is the final post in this Photo: TR. Thanks for reading! So we went here instead. Thanks for reading all! We tried to get Soren this credit, but it was already closed for the evening. It gets really spooky around 9:40 at night, nobody is around. Hooray for fire! Epcot at night! Sure, since it is a walk on today. It's true, the human captains have been fired. They are being replaced by machines. While it does not spin, I think people will still like the ride. It is a good idea to have a choice. See what I mean? Less intense Gary. Ok lets try Green now. Orange warnings. Same old Gary, still wondering when Wes was coming back. I first rode the original version, which is now Orange. No more single rider line. You now choose you intensity setting. There is no excuse for anyone not to see these signs. Yeah I had to go check out the revamped Mission: Space. New Test Track photos. You can also put it on your photo-pass now. Weeeeeeeeeee! Or is it...Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii! Uh-oh! No love for Test Track today I guess. So empty. I can't remember the last time I have seen it like this. Looks like they are adding some new stuff to Spaceship Earth. See! Spaceship Earth is so a credit. I took the bus back over to Epcot. It has been a while since I have seen this section empty. No flash passes needed today. I love Florida parks in September. I love Florida parks in September. Tower of Terror meets HHN. I can only call this one the "original" tower. Since I have yet to ride the other ones. I felt like going over to Disney/MGM for a few hours. Random rodents. TPR loves Epcot. There he is. I bet Soren is somewhere around this place. Mmmmmmmm, I can't wait!!! Soren zai na li? The band in Norway started playing the"Expedition Soren" theme song. I decided to ride those later so I could start "Expedition Soren" No Soren in Mexico. Oh wow, look I got an extra "surprise" fast pass. Wow, my Fast Pass for Test Track looks different. You know I got a fat head since I can block Epcot's landmark.
Usf geek Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Awesome TR, I so would've waited 20 minutes for a last ride on BTTF!!!
live2tell75 Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Great trip report Erik! I love going to the parks this time of year! I have only done 5 parks in one day once. It was tiring but really fun, like a theme park marathon. If you ever get the bug to do it again, give me a buzz, I'd love to come up and do the Eric/k Johnsons attack all the Orlando parks in one day tour! Glad you you had fun.
ParkTrips Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 So does the "bonus Fastpass" for Mission Space indicate that they are trying to get people back on the ride? Have crowds gotten even lighter? Â btw thanks for the report, it pretty much rocked as usual.
Meteornotes Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Cool pics/report as always. Sucks that another single rider line is gone, more attractions at WDW need a SRL, not less. Â dt
ECZenith Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Wooo, I hope the lack of crowds still exists for my visit Sept. 27-Oct. 1. Hopefully the line for Everest will be as short as the attractions seen in your TR, I haven't yet been on it.
SharkTums Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Wow, you used to get 'Surprise Fastpasses' for crap like Honey I bored the audience! Now Mission Space?!?! Â Great TR Erik! Â BTW, I'm still sad that the rodents were hanging around and no one was with them. =(
Sir Clinksalot Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Nice TR. I hope the parks are that empty next month!!!
coaster_dad Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Great TR! Loved the reference to the Prisoner ... "I am not a number, I am a free man!
mcjaco Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Nice TR. I hope the parks are that empty next month!!! Â I was thinking the same thing. Â Soren better get ready, there seems to be a TPR exodus to WDW in the next four to six weeks. Do we get to count Expedition Soren as a credit?
jedimaster1227 Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Actually, its Jedimaster1227 *cough*cough* Â It was great getting to meet my first TPR member "in the wild!" Erik, you now hold the credit as my first TPR member-meet-up! Â Hopefully I will see you on the Midwest USA Trip. Â Oh, and if I forgot to mention, this is another great trip report!
Wes Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Man, the parks were nice and dead! Hope that keeps up. Â I will return to Gary's loving embrace in exactly one month.
dandaman Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Wow, you used to get 'Surprise Fastpasses' for crap like Honey I bored the audience! Now Mission Space?!?! Great TR Erik!  BTW, I'm still sad that the rodents were hanging around and no one was with them. =(  Don't worry, Elissa. Once I get around to posting my TR, you'll see a lot more of the pair.  Regarding that first part, truer words were never spoken.
bgwfreak Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 A Carraba's that closes at 9:30??? Â What's up with that!!! Â I think I might have to go to Florida during hurricane season next time. lol
Schmoofy Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Nice report! Did you by chance, head into The Living Seas, and check out what is going on with the Pixaration in that Nemo fish tank display?
mcjaco Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Man, the parks were nice and dead! Hope that keeps up. I will return to Gary's loving embrace in exactly one month.  How sweet. I think I'm stearing clear of MS, should this reunion get messy.

Yeah I am still tired from yesterday. I seem to always hit some parks at the last minute. Go ahead and PM you phone number and next time we come down I shall send you a message or give you a call.
Erik Johnson Posted September 11, 2006 Author Posted September 11, 2006 Wow, you used to get 'Surprise Fastpasses' for crap like Honey I bored the audience! Now Mission Space?!?! Great TR Erik!  BTW, I'm still sad that the rodents were hanging around and no one was with them. =(  It was in that little dead zone between the Epcot resort hotels and the back entrance to Epcot. They had some love after I walked by that area. I can't think of a better set of Disney characters to welcome people into the most awesome Orlando Disney park.
Erik Johnson Posted September 11, 2006 Author Posted September 11, 2006 A Carraba's that closes at 9:30??? What's up with that!!!  I think I might have to go to Florida during hurricane season next time. lol  It closed at 10:00, plus it was a Sunday so I think they close a little earlier. We did not get there until around 10:25.
dandaman Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Finally, a quadruple post that isn't annoying and has some relevance to it!
