noyzz
Ok, as we get closer for our trip, we have a new problem. Since my GF has a new job and can't take more days off like she wanted to for our original plans. We have to fly the weekend were going now which is fine but my question is? Is Newark the closest airport or the best? and how far is the airport/hotels from the park? I've found some great package deals online so far but if you guys have any great places to look for packages by all means........
ECZenith
I'm alm 100% positive Newark is the closest (any only airport you can fly into) and it is approximately a little more than an hour to SFNJ. Hope this helps, enjoy El Toro!

downunder
I'll be there on monday, can't wait to ride El Toro myself, if I can get the Kingda Ka credit which eluded me last year I will be very happy but I think I will ride Batman side of Chiller in the TPR video. DATman
^ The Chiller is closed for the season... Hopefully El Toro isn't taking 4 minutes to load trains when you go! Use Flash Pass!!! I regret not using it when I went, as it was crowded beyond belief.
TheArchfiend
Both Philly and Newark airports are about the same distance from the park. Philly may be a little closer but I'd go with Newark since you won't have to deal with tolls and it's more of a straight drive to the park from there. Just don't ask any pedestrians for directions until you get atleast 20 miles away from Newark.

larrygator
I was shocked to see FreeFall operatinfg on Monday afternoon, but it was. Newark is much closer to SFGAdv than JFK, The Philly Airport is probably you best bet after Newark. Traffic congestion from JFK to SFGAdv will not be pleasant. NitroRider
What about Trenton Mercer? Thats only like 25 miles/30 minutes.

Hercules
First comment - Newark sucks overall. In this case, it is probably the best option though. It is the absolute worst airport I have ever been to. Second comment - So they aren't going to rip down Freefall? Damn! Now I'm completely confused. larrygator
Herc - have you every been to Kennedy or LaGuardia? Newark is much better than either of them. All NY airports blow both at least the traffic around Newark is bearable.

I regret not using it when I went, as it was crowded beyond belief. When I went i would have considered 4 minutes GOOD The average time for one train to be loaded and sent off was 8 minutes when i was there! ECZenith
^That's crazy! They had them going out every 2 minutes or so in July, the wait only got to be about half an hour at its busiest.
Tank6585
You should definitely get a Flash Pass, its only $45 for two people.
sixflagstloldschool
What about Trenton Mercer? Thats only like 25 miles/30 minutes. Well the only option you have is EWR or PHL, if you want to fly. 69 from PHL 62 from EWR To fly to TTN Trenton, would mean a connecting flight and the only airline that serves flies there is PANAM. And flying out of ATL, NO WAY, connection hell even if you found a flight or Agency to find you a flight into Trenton. Fly into EWR and then rent a CAR. 62 miles about 1.5hours and then Seaside Heights, NJ is another 27 miles and you can do that at night and get 4 credits a looper a mouse and another family coaster then they have a kid dragon mini , Thats if your lookin for Credits, There are also a few in Brooklyn, and several credits you can get if you do some planning , depending on your time schedule. RCDB is your friend if looking for nearby coasters around EWR. Good Luck on your trip. . http://www.rcdb.com/locationresult.htm?parkname=+&pstatus=&location=0&nearlocation=14604&nearrange=&search=Search

Tank6585
Philadelphia is the anyones best bet. Its cheaper, and only about 1 hour from Six Flags.
sixflagstloldschool
Philadelphia is the anyones best bet. Its cheaper, and only about 1 hour from Six Flags. ??? How do you figure cheaper. 69 miles from philly and still about an 1.5 hour drive The same time. Southwest does not fly out of ATL and again connection hell for the cheap rates, you wanna get there or take the risk of layover. More flights in to EWR than PHL out of ATL. Does not matter, Its going to cost money however they plan.
gmoney422
If you get Flash Pass, go gold. It's worth the extra $$$. We got one last Monday and only waited 15 minutes at most for everything, and the place was jam packed!!! Good luck and have fun riding 'Da Bull'!!!
