I think the height will be the factor. Everytime I look down, my heart pounding twice more than it should be. But I love roller coaster and height is a must-factor in every coaster.

Height doesn't bother me at all.

Que lines scare me. There's always someone who used too much perfume or that overweight person that hasn't seen deodorant in years much less used it. Then there's the kid who has to sing Millie Vannily. Then there's the person who ate Taco Bell and is farting like crazy.

I don't like que lines....

It's not the hieght or the speed. I love the speed! but tis more the suspense given to you by the lift or pre-luanch that mke you think "what am I doing on this. and it's to late to turn back". Nitros lift which is long, slow and loud scares the SH** out of me. Or on KingDa Ka the voice that says Enjoy your ride on KingDa Ka is really eery and bring more suspense especially becuase you don't always launch on Que.

I haven't been on many coasters. But whenever I ride a coaster, I'm always scared of going up the lift hill, because I'm always thinking that it'll just start to roll back. Or on Kanonen, the heartbeats you hear before the launch is so scary, because I always count them, so I know when to launch, wich is scary >.

Wow... waiting in line usually calms me down. Seeing the coaster go by a few times makes it less scary... unless you're in the station for V2... that's a whole other story.

Anyways, the height and/or waiting for the coaster to launch is very intense.

The unkown is kinda scary. I was shaking pretty bad before I rode Dragster for the first time. Not knowing what to expect can be a bit frightening. Especially when you are going over 100mph

It would have to be a huge drop. The longer, or steeper, the better. Nothing gets the heart pumping like looking down at a drop and realizing you are goin down!

Its short lived, cause by that point, you are flying through a loop, or helix, or up another corkscrew, but the deeper or more alluring the drop, the better. I love the drops into darkness. as small as the Tennessee Tornado is, I still like falling into darkness and emerging upside down into a loop. It was my first official steel coaster ride, and holds a spot in my coaster pics for the drop in darkness. Its still scares the bajeebers outta my kids, and they squeal everytime!

Oh, I completely agree with the huge lines, smelly persons in said lines, and those who know they will not fit on the ride, but take line anyway, and some of them, are said odiferous persons ( they got some ripeness)

Anticipation during potential-kinetic transfer: I find chain lifts and pre-launch areas bring out the most anxiety in people riding coasters.

Speed: Lots of people skip rides because they are too fast and think that coasters with high speeds could be uncomfortable to them.

Chaos/Unsafe Feeling: For several minutes, your life is in the control of an automated machine on a hard-to follow twisting layout. Not knowing what could happen next makes some feel threatened.

Inversions: I've heard many say they're not going on (insert coaster name here) because it has too many "flips". Most likely the fear of becoming sick.

Sound: Yeah, sound. I always ask my non-enthusiast friends that don't ride why... and one of them mentioned that the "click clack" of a chain lift makes them feel a bit uneasy about riding. Then there's the B&Ms and other coasters that "roar" A huge machine that roars like a beast is enough to turn someone away.

Visual impact: Sometimes the ride just looks too damn big for some people and they would probably ride if some coasters were smaller.

Funny thing. My first hyper was SROS at SFNE and all the way down the drop I thought, "Why isn't this drop ENDING?"

Large drops.

Chaos is a big thing too. The Premier LIM bowls are intense because they combine Chaos, Headchoppers, and a launch.

Anticipation is good. SROS has a slow-ish lift, so n00bs get scared.

First drop into a tunnel.

Headchoppers.

Watching a shuttle coaster roar through the station is awesome. However, watching people watch shuttle coasters roar the station is better.

About shuttle coasters... Atomic Coaster (Meisho shuttle loop) goes forwards out of the station, up a lift, back down the lift, through the station, down another hill, and into the loop. That is weird.
