pagemaster_b
Please, remove your mind from the gutter! Especially since it was two guys who got in trouble, and this isn't (wasn't) Brokeback Toad! They were doing stuff like throwing trash between cars, trying to slap hands with oncoming cars, and touching the scenary. Typical sophmoric behaivor. Oh, geez. It was a lot more funnier when it was left to the imagination!

IceDragon
^ That's great. But the GP would have no idea what it means since the coaster in the movie used CGI to make it look much larger than it really is. True... I'd still worry about it, especially if it were the same model... *shudders*. The Corkscrew at Alton actually opened a click while the ride was in motion... True it barely reaches 40 odd mph, but the airtime hill was crazy!

ChiDan1972
Worst thing I ever heard was at Geauga Lake when it changed over in May of 2004. I was strapped in on Dominator and we weren't moving. One of the ride ops asked the girl working the control what the hold up was. The response from her was awseome. "I don't know where the other train is?!" Not exactly what you want to hear, but I did offer up that it was most likely on the mid course breaks, which is was.
Reality15
Seen as how I worked on a ride, I have my own list of things I liked to say whenever the ride broke down... "One, two, three, four, five... where's copper?" "Hehehehehehe..." And then there's always the good ones to make guests give you a weird face, even though nothing's wrong... "Harnesses have been released, and are now locked. Please recheck all harnesses." "105, 20, 10, 95, 105, 57, 2, 8, 70, 400, 4250. I'll let you figure those numbers out." Sometimes people freak out about the little things. I once had a lady that was going crazy because the train stopped before going up the lift (it's supposed to do that). She ended up getting off the ride because she thought something was wrong with it.

Heh, I did that with Air... it stopped on the lift hill and we got stuck for about 10 seconds, but it started moving again. I also saw these kids running up to us with full water pistols... Thank God we were well out of firing range when they arrived

Something similar happened to me on Steel Force on a crowded hot day at Dorney last month. Something had evidently happened earlier in the season to cause management to encourate the crew to get trains out faster, because they were really pushing them out fast. They were yelling at people to open the magnetic gates and get in the train as soon as they unlocked them. Then if the guys checking restraints took too long, the guy at the controls would start counting off the seconds they were wasting after the previous train had cleared the block! In fact, when they did manage to get a cooperative load of riders without a bunch of crap to stow in the bins, they would get trains checked way before the block was clear. I was in line late at night when the guy at the back of the station started yelling and waving at the person at the controls to NOT dispatch the train because he didn't know where one of the previous ones was. (It had got stuck on the brake before the bunny hops. Evidently a bad sensor or some other hardware malfunction was involved, because they didn't reopen the ride the rest of the night even though they kept running empty trains.) I would hope that the system wouldn't have let them actually dispatch another train, but the way he was yelling about it didn't inspire confidence! Maybe it would've stopped it on the lift and he didn't want to have to deal with evacuating multiple trains.

lil jimmy norton
My friend and I were sitting on Top Spin 2 at Coney Island. We were sitting waiting for people go get on, and the op points towards us and says, " You guys should move down a seat, there's something wrong with that one. " If I tell you, the poo almost came down my pants. I moved over about three seats. It turned out to be a great ride, but that comment made me a little uneasy. CycloneMan
^I can tell you as a forme Astroland employee, those seats on Top Spin 2 are always having problems! I've been stuck in my restraint twice, and I've seen all the lap bars come down first. That ride is screwed up! -Dainan "Don't ride it" Rafferty
