My god that was one energetic first ride video. If that was happening at all times this would be one of the most epic rides ever. Maybe not fireworks, but a light show with music blasting and the like. That would be awesome.

Anywho this ride is still extremely interesting looking. The first forwards run looks like it offers some seriously strong g's, some crazy airtime, and one of the oddest layouts for a shuttle to date. It's too bad if it really is extremely rough because this ride is one of those rides that just makes you think 'what the heck' and those are my favorite rides to see built

You're right, regarding to their website I can confirm that the ride is actually down. According to the news entry on the official page, the ride is down for "maintenance" and furhter "optimization", they can't set a reopening date so far... Too sad.

Greetings Ivi

I can't say I'm surprised. I rode it on Saturday and it did its very best to kill me.

Trip report here:

I wonder if you're going to be the only one on here to get the credit. If they can't make a simple shuttle loop work after three years, odds are not good for this thing long term.

Nice job in getting this very hard-to-get credit.

One guy in german forum, shoot a photo from this notice:

i try to translate it:

Cobra coaster, out of buissness!

Dear costumer,

we make some changes on the attraction at the moment to make the ride more comfortable. We hope for your understanding.

Good decision,

because everyone says, it could be a very good ride if the shaking wouldn´t nearly kill you. It has nice and extreme Forces and airtime. One newspaper said that it has forces till 5.5 G`s... so if they really get it smoother maybe it will become a hit for the park. At moment many people said the coaster was most time very empty and all people that came out of the ride had a face wreathing in pain. Nearly no one wants to ride it again. So if they get this fixed maybe it will become ah nice little gem... hope so

I noticed Connyland has taken the closure notice for Cobra off of their website, and replaced it with new ride hours. It says Cobra is open from 14:00 to 18:00 hours daily. Can anyone confirm? Wonder if they got everything sorted out with it this time?

news on this coaster... ConnyLand completely replaced the track between the station and looping and now it seems that the ride is much faster, smooth and fun to ride. So the inevstment finally gets payed off! there is a german article here: http://airtimers.com/conny-land-%E2%80%93-cobra-das-vorletzte-kapitel-eines-russischen-dramas/008820/

But it seems that the park will not stop to improve the ride... next winter they will add new trains. So after nearly twice the money the ride slowly gets better

That's nice! I actually was there when they were building the ride in April 2009 (when I went to Europe for Spring Break). It looks like fun.

Damn, that looks like a really fun ride. The inverted point over the park's entrance is sure a crazy work of art!

Considering the ride's maufacturer is located in Russia, and they really don't have any rides located in the U.S, I don't think any major theme parks here would go for it like they would another shuttle ride. Not to mention, how much of the GP would even think about going on this coaster? I'd bet they'd think it would fall apart while they would be riding it.

Hi folks,

I got off from work pretty early, so I decided to take a spontanious extra hour train ride to give Conny Land and especially cobra a first try. As I mentioned, it was my first visit to the park...

So I checked their website on my mobile: park entrance till 17h00, closure at 18h00. Entrance fee was anounced at 29.- Sfr. I arrived with public transports at 16h58 and the entrance was already sort of shut down.. Great I thought, all the way out here for nothing, what a boomer... But then I saw a park worker passing by and I asked kindly to still enter for just an hour. To my surprise, a few minutes later I was in and had only to pay 12.- Sfr, how cool was that?

So I walked directly towards the entrance of cobra. I wasn't surprised as there was no line - it's kind of a small park, it's a weekday and school isnt out for summer here in switzerland. So I took my first ride in the really front. The ride operator didn't wait for other guests and so my ride did start immediatly. As the car was pulled backwards I felt weird and was prepared for the worst. In addition to that, when the cable pull thing attached to my car some really special noises flew trough my ears, that did not helped at all.. I was impressed by the height of the lift hill and then I was released to the track - prepared with vekoma-brace position. But my expectations were wrong - I actually enjoyed my

ride and it wasn't rough at all. I mean, it's not super smooth, but it's really ok! The coolest element was the upside down part at the end of the ride, where you definetly noticing the Conny Land logo placed at the top of the lift hill. It would be a cool addition, if the sign would be going upside down as well whenever cobra is it - so you would be able to read it "normally"

After walking arround and trying other stuff out (I overall really liked the park, I was treated very well, everyone was really friendly, the food was excellent and there's a lot of stuff to do, especially for kids) I came back for a second ride on cobra and checked the back out. That wasn't actually the best idea of the day, because in the back there was some serious pain directly after the first drop and overall it was a much rougher ride. So I finished my quick inspection with another ride in the front, which was totally ok for me!

So that's it from my part, please notice that I didn't rode it before the track refurbishment etc. so I can't tell you the difference... So long, ivi

That's how to combine a coaster with a parking lot.

Here's a short video of the lift hill:

I've always thought that this one *looks* like an extremely cool ride.

I hope after hammering out the bugs out of this prototype that more will show up....I really like shuttle coasters.

Hey Ivan! That's awesome that you got to ride this crazy looking coaster. Congrats, and I'm glad you didn't die! Thanks for sharing the photos and video (oh and the lift hill cables kinda freak me out).
