map2 Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 I'm surprised that this is not a topic yet, but there is an article saying that a woman at Six Flags Darien Lake came across a store that looked like a Disney Stor. When she went inside, the store was selling Disney products. Honestly, I'm not teribly surpised this happened. Sharpio used to work with Disney, and he probably still has some access to some of the Disney merchandise. But to me it's still pretty pathetic to sell a competitor's merchandise.
goleafsgo Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 But to me it's still pretty pathetic to sell a competitor's merchandise just for money. wy would you sell anything if it wasnt for money?
scruffy Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 The sad thing some people will now think some of the Six Flags parks are Diseny parks.
jarmor Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 No, the sad thing is the people who would actually think that...
gisco Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 I kind of recall a while back that in someones PTR of 6FMM? They had a picture of Disney stuff in one of the stores.
Frade Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 That is truth, yesterday I went to Six Flags Mexico and in the main store, they have a big section of Disney Princes costumes, toys, and stuff.
coaster1 Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 SFOT has it as well .. I see nothing wrong with it .. all three compaines are making money off it .. 1) Disney - Product Liscensing 2) Distribuitor - DUH 3) Six Flags - Mark-Up Not a bad move at all .. since EVERYONE knows Disney and kids eat it up.
Shockwave Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 If it sells, it's on the shelves. Couldn't put it any simpler.
TheStig Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 You do realize that Mark Shapiro is some big wig for ESPN right? And who owns ESPN? Why Disney of course! Colin C
DerekRx Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 I wonder if they sell Disney tickets in those stores. I could use 1 for my trip next weekend, and I'll be up near Darien Lake this weekend. I could just swing by there to pick them up, it'd be a lot easier than going to the mall
WillMontu Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Even SFOG has Disney Merchandise, just down from the Mr. Six merchandise. Erik Johnson was confused too. Note the Goliath merchandise in the background
Gnome Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 why doesn't he sell bugs and daffy toys instead? He's selling the company out.
Blazen_AZN Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 SFMM has a Disney store aswell. its quite comfortable place to sit on the floor and watch some mickey mouse and get away from the crowds.
Astat Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 It's not really that unusual when you think about it...Six Flags is just an amusement park company, while Disney is a huge corporation that makes toys, cartoons, movies, etc...their amusement parks are just one of many facets of the company, whereas for Six Flags, the amusement parks basically ARE the company. They aren't selling tickets to the amusement parks or anything there, so it's really not like selling stuff from a competitor.
bgwfreak Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 So I guess the games departments at Six Flags should stop offering prizes like Spiderman, Shrek and Spongebob since those are not owned by Six Flags? Give me a break. If it sells, I say sell it. Make as much money as you can so you can build more coasters.
