^^You're right! OMG!!

Even more reason that this has to be a mistake.

^I don't really want to get into all of that now. Let's wait and see how this height restriction thing plays out first.

Fair enough. Interested to find out.

I mean a boycott of Magic Mountain?

No one suggested a boybott of Magic Mountain. I asked that none of the "families" of Theme Park Review support this ride, and instead bring their kids to Disneyland to ride their version of it.

We have a lot of families here with kids that are 35" - 41" who would probably LOVE to ride this roller coaster.

And they can.

At Disneyland.

How about we have somebody contact the park and ask about this rather than go on complaining here? I'm fairly certain this is a mistake. I know the kind of people that update the site probably aren't the kind that pay attention to details like height restrictions. That has been my experience with a lot of data entry workers I've managed.

Otherwise, there's probably a good reason for this restriction that goes beyond the park. I know vague federal laws have been slashing at the industry for ages now.

What a waste of money and efforts if this stands. They should have used these funds and efforts to go toward a Kingda Ka clone for 2011.

Not only do we get a "family" roller coaster that nullifies the family aspect of it all, which makes the ride practically useless.

Parents and kids alike will love our newest ride, Mr. Six's DanceCoaster, named after our iconic mascot of fun. Opening May 29, this family-friendly ride will be Six Flags

Magic Mountain's 17th coaster.

Located near last season’s newest innovative thrill ride, Terminator® Salvation™: The Ride, Mr. Six's DanceCoaster is 679 feet long with a 28-foot lift hill, reaching up to 21 mph — the perfect speed for young thrillseekers in training.

Too funny......the perfect speed for young thrillseekers in training??? I guess kids in California "train" slower than those in Texas and New Orleans as Robb pointed out. Good way to show consistency Six Flags!

Road Runner Express (Six Flags Fiesta Texas) by the numbers

Height Restrictions min. 42"

Ride Category Thrill (More like this)

Flash Pass Yes

Elevation Nearly 8 stories

Length 2,400 feet

Duration 2 minutes, 24 seconds

Introduced Spring 1997

Manufacturer Arrow Dynamics

^^You gotta be kidding me? I read this and I thought this would be the first time me and my little brother would ride a roller coaster in my favorite park, I forgot it was Magic Mountain. This is just stupid and I think it's just logical to think it's a mistake but then again it is Magic Mountain.

Wow, I'm totally shocked at this height requirement, and I REALLY hope it's some kind of error on the website.

I know we all have been generally excited about what the park has been doing the past few years even though some things we want them to do (Parking lot under Scream, lower height requirement on Gold Rusher, more flats) are slow in coming. I think we were ALL willing to give them some time.

But ... seeing that this is a new coaster to the park, with an already existing 36" height requirement, it seems absurd to raise it to 42".

Merlin's Revenge - Castle Park - 40"

Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom - 36" w/ Adult

Six Flags Mexico - 35"

Vapor Trail - Sesame Place - NO HEIGHT RESTRICTION (rider must be 3 years old)

Yeah, this HAS to be a mistake. I'll make a call to the park tomorrow to find out for sure. It just can't be right.

Yeh it does have to be a mistake however...this is Six Flags we're dealing with here. They're still touting Boomerang at SFFT as "nearly 20 stories" but another Boomerang at a different SF Park is only 12 stories.

Boomerang

At nearly 20 stories high, the Boomerang super-coaster sends riders through multiple loops and a corkscrew — and then does it all again, backwards.

*

Ascend 20 stories, then plunge into coaster insanity

*

Fly through two inverted loops and a corkscrew

*

Rocket through the whole harrowing ride a second time — backwards

Boomerang by the numbers

Height Restrictions min. 48"

Ride Category Thrill (More like this)

Flash Pass Yes

Length 938 feet

Elevation 125 feet

Top speed 60 mph

Duration 1 minute, 44 seconds

Capacity 750 passengers per hour

Introduced Spring 1999

Designer/Manufacturer Vekoma

And the same Boomerang at SFDK has somewhat of a different description.

Boomerang Coast to Coaster by the numbers

Height Restrictions min. 48"

Flash Pass Yes

Top speed 48 mph

Elevation 12 stories

Length 935 feet

Duration 1 minute, 48 seconds

Capacity 28

Introduced March 1998

Manufacturer Vekoma, International

That's okay Robb, we'll go to Six Flags Great America, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, or Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom and KT can ride their Roller Skaters at 36''. Or heck, maybe Six Flags Mexico with a 35.4'' restriction!

Or you know, any other good park on Earth that has a roller skater.

EDIT!! OMG!!! Even Cedar Point "Capital of no kids rides" roller skater has a 36'' height restriction!!!!

Dont forget about Freestyle Music Parks roller skater

^I think that's a very good point. The reason this debate is going so strong is that so many of us wouldn't actually be *that* shocked to see the park do something this dumb and annoying!!!!

This is what has me worried the most about the situation.

But then again, this could be a mistake of some sort. Why would a roller skater have the same height requirement as Ninja?

Okay, good! I was going to say- PLEASE DON'T CANCEL WCB! But I agree here- the height requirement makes no sense at all. Is there anything that anyone knows of that might make this roller-skater different from the others (such as restraints, the train itself, etc.)?
