CaseyFish Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 ^^For Real Larry!!!! The B.O.T.B.C. would have fun no matter what, wether it was at the funhouse or whatever. Nicole I think discovered that towards the end when she and Derek began to migrate to the back of the bus and away from the fanboys! We will accept both of you, we promise:) Great Trip Report so far, can't wait to see more. It is neat to see all the different aspects of the trip in so many different views. Take Care, Casey B.O.T.B.C. Charter Member Where is my megaphone?!?!
niiicolaaah Posted June 28, 2006 Author Posted June 28, 2006 Yeah, we totally would have had more fun had we migrated back earlier. And not had to worry about people stealing our seats!
niiicolaaah Posted June 28, 2006 Author Posted June 28, 2006 Blackpool Pleasure Beach: Part 2 Blackpool may not have the best coasters of any park in the world, but the park has a lot of its own charm. Part of that charm are the many darkrides. I love darkrides almost as much as I love coasters. The ride ends with a small drop that does not get you wet. Inside the river caves Lots of rides at Blackpool are themed to be inside giant rocks River Caves was pretty neat too I love a little chub! Before we rode, we wore these cool hats and ate fish & chips. Someone remind me, next time I go to the UK, to bring some Ketchup with me. Awesome Awesome This is my favorite ride ANYWHERE! We rode it twice (with ponchos, not a drop!) It's ValHOLLER! Oh there he is, accidentally getting in the shot again. Someone should go through my PTR and count how many times he (or his arm or part of his head) is accidentally in the photo. But what's that behind him?????????? This isn't a dark ride, but it could be! Where's Derek? The Ghost Train is pretty cool, with a coasterish drop in the middle of the ride "Welcome to our world of toys!" I can still sing the tune. Oh god.
TheStig Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Welcome to our world! Welcome to our world! Welcome to our world! Welcome to our world of toys! FAO Schwarts rules. Nice photos, and what exactially does ValHOLLER do? Is it just a flume or is there more to it? Colin C
niiicolaaah Posted June 28, 2006 Author Posted June 28, 2006 ^Tsk, just a flume?!?! Hehe. It's a crazy dark ride with FIRE, a backwards drop, awesome scenes, and an ICE ROOM with real snow! It's the best ride ever! Also, the first thing you do is go UNDER a waterfall, so unless you're wearing a poncho you WILL get DRENCHED!
methylene Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 ^Tsk, just a flume?!?! Hehe. It's a crazy dark ride with FIRE, a backwards drop, awesome scenes, and an ICE ROOM with real snow! It's the best ride ever! Also, the first thing you do is go UNDER a waterfall, so unless you're wearing a poncho you WILL get DRENCHED! Sounds like a weekend with the inlaws! /rimshot
niiicolaaah Posted June 28, 2006 Author Posted June 28, 2006 Well, I just don't get it. Obviously I have no inlaws!
Carnage Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Also, the first thing you do is go UNDER a waterfall, so unless you're wearing a poncho you WILL get DRENCHED! Only if you're in the first or 2nd row though. The waterfall turns off as the boat goes through it, that way the back of the boat can laugh at the suckers in the front.
niiicolaaah Posted June 28, 2006 Author Posted June 28, 2006 Oh does it? I didn't know! Oh well, if you're in the back you're gonna get wet on the first drop! God, I love that ride!
TheStig Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Ahh that sounds awsome! Now I have a really good reason to go to Blackpool one day! Is anybody going anytime soon? Can I slip into your duffle bag please?!?!?!? Colin C
JimmyBo Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 You rode it twice WITH ponchos!! A couple of us rode it once without ponchos and found a little dry spot on our butts so we rode it again to get fully drenched. That ride truly some major butt. And the best "WTF is this doing here on a water ride" room goes to the ice room on Valhalla!
gmoney422 Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 Great pics, Nicole! I'm very jealous! << If it was, sorry, I had to do it...!
Louise Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 The first time I rode, I got soaked to the skin apart from one big dry patch, which I was sat on... Somehow I got convinced to ride a second time which eliminated that dry patch. I think we all owe Jody a huge thanks for not riding and sitting there with 40 pairs of shoes and socks. Did they not have ketchup where you had lunch, or was it just bad ketchup?! Great pictures so far Nicole, and thanks very much for putting the damn song back into my head again. Still not as bad as the Small World theme though...
niiicolaaah Posted June 29, 2006 Author Posted June 29, 2006 Blackpool Part 3 And I leave you with the most awesome drink known to man, Irn Bru. I LOVE BLACKPOOL and there is a 100% chance of me returning one day The Gold Mine was another awesome dark ride. And it's totally a credit. This said something like "To see the World's Stupidest Animals look in here" (I can't remember what it said exactly) Noah's Ark was fun. Here is a cow that farts when you step on this thing Why they are keeping this track, I have no idea.
Jew Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 It was fast and intense, but over way too quickly! Derek, sounds like you got some explaining to do... Oh, you were talking about the coaster. Sorry.
onemorenightwithyou Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 Nice Photo TR... I have quite a few beefs with PCW, especially after going to better managed parks... I can honestly say that the only time (out of dozens) which was memorable about PCW was when there was a school "physics" trip to PCW, and we laughed at the kids that actually had to do work because our teacher "forgot" to photocopy the assignment.
martinb Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 Valhalla is such an awsome ride, I'm glad you lot all enjoyed it, I think the music plays a big part in the ride. If you don't have a poncho, that freezer room is bloody horrible. But did you guys know that on the last drop, when all that fire explodes etc, a tank of water above is opened so you can't really avoid getting wet(unless you have a poncho) -Martyn

OK! Enough talk about PCW! I don't care about PCW! This trip report is about the UK! Sheesh!

TheKlockster Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 ^ What is Irn Bru like? Is it really the BEST drink in the world?
niiicolaaah Posted June 29, 2006 Author Posted June 29, 2006 ^I like it. It smells like bubble gum and I have no idea how to describe its taste.
TheStig Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 ^Orgasmic? Or rancid? Sound like the beverly, but thats always going to be rancid.... So how does megaphobia compair to your wooden coasters at PCW??? Colin C
niiicolaaah Posted June 29, 2006 Author Posted June 29, 2006 ^Irn Bru is good. I really liked Megafobia. We only rode it twice, so I didn't have enough rides to really "take it in". Having said that, I'm having a hard time ranking it. I'd probably tie it with Thundercoaster at Tusenfryd (which I also only rode twice! ) for #2 woodie. It's really hard for me to rank coasters cause I'll like whatever I've ridden most recently... lol
