  1. Cedar Fair's not opposed to getting rid of crappy wood. Think Hercules for Hydra. (Sorry Herc ) Hmmm, I smell Hydra: Part Duex....now with more JoJos. Scott "unfortunately, SOB isn't going anywhere" B.
  2. Yeah, definitely. I mean, it would be pretty darn difficult to top the last coaster they put in. As coaster enthusiasts, I'm sure we could all agree that the last thing IOA needs is another world class coaster, right? I could only imagine the anticipointment that would result from trying to outdo Unicorn and the High in the Sky powered thingy, or whatever it is.
  3. Herc, I'm curious as to why? I actually lost what little respect I had for the game after watching some this year. IMHO, soccer has the biggest concentration of wusses playing a professional sport. It was pathetic how the "real" competition consisted more of who had better acting skills than who could bend one inside the crossbar from 80 feet out. If they're breathed on wrong, half of these guys will dive, feign a career-ending injury, and then be up and running again 5 seconds after they see there's no yellow card.....PATHETIC. I'd ove to see these "men" play hockey, american football, or worse....Australian Rules Football. Pansies. End Rant. And watching of soccer. Scott "for the record, I played hockey for years" B.
  4. So what do I win for picking Italia? Congrats to Italy for winning the World Trophy!! Scott "yes, I said trophy" B.
  5. Although he gave me the pc answer about which was his favorite (you know, how they're all like children, how can you like one over the other?) Walter Bolliger's eyes seemed to light up a bit more when we spoke of Nemesis. You can take that for what it's worth, though.
  6. I'd say Holiday World and Beech Bend. Unless the shear number of credits is most important to you, I'd say skip Ohio. Unless you have a huge desire to get a strata credit (TTD), go for the quality wood. I mean, you've got GeForce over there, so from everything I've heard, Milly won't impress you that much. And you've also got Black Mamba, so why waste your time with Raptor, right? (although it still rocks, IMHO). And let's see.....Raging Wolf Bobs and Mean Streak vs. Voyage and Kentucky Rumbler...yeah, no brainer on that one. Plus, regardless of the varied opinions about Voyage, you'd be hard pressed to find anything comparable anywhere else in the world. I guess it just comes down to wood vs. steel, and credits vs. quality. Be warned though, unlike Holiday World, there is only one real reason to go to Beech Bend, so don't expect anymore than that.
  7. No. Can this really be considered a "game?"
  8. LOL. Yeah, um, I'm thinking not quite the same situation there, chief. I'll tell you what; the day I see Christian extremists blowing up busloads of innocent people in an attempt to make a point through suicide bombings, then I'll agree with you. Protests with placards is nowhere near wearing a vest full of C4.
  9. 100% Agreed. There's already a dedicated place for all employees of any job at any place of work around the world to place cell phone calls......it's called the break room. If I'm correct, Disney employees aren't even allowed to carry their phones with them on duty. Correct me if I'm wrong, mouse employees.
  10. You havn't been to Miami. You've never experienced bad driving until you experience it combined with road rage. Excellent point. I managed to survive 28 years of it somehow. But what you forget is that only about 10% of people living in South Florida these days are natives. Where do the rest come from? You guessed it.....the northeast. Well, that and Cuba.
  11. A resounding NO. Did you play the lottery this week?
  12. Wow. I just read through most of this thread, and you guys sure are generous with the term "theme" park. I guess I'm the oddball of the group who thinks the only "theme" parks out there are Disney, Busch, Universal, Dollywood, Silver Dollar City, and on a smaller scale...Holiday World (ok, maybe not the strongest example, but they try hard with what they got). Well, those are at least the most prominent ones I can think of off the top of my head. Everything else, IMHO of course, are basically thought of as "amusement" parks. Sure, some Six Flags parks have attempted to theme various sections and/or rides, but I'm still not willing to completely call them "theme" parks by any stretch of the imagination. I have been known to be wrong on occasion though.
  13. Return Fire, PS1 ( a bit old school, huh?)
  14. Yeah, I agree. That's why I didn't include them in my list. I actually thoroughly enjoyed my visit to SFNE in early June. But then again, that's probably because I've always found (caution, generaliztion ahead) New Englanders to be more hospitable during any of my visits there. I'm sticking with my views on SFGADV though.
  15. ^ Not to make you feel worse or anything, but now that I look closer, that number is actually 14,000+.
  16. I think I left the iron on this morning.
  17. ^ I think that's just the "best foot forward" syndrome. I too was inspired by the potential turn-for-the-better after attending SFOG's Goliath Media Day early in the season. As it turns out, I was stupid to believe it was nothing more than the park going through "event mode." Now I know there are good examples of Six Flags operations scattered out there somewhere across this great land, but for the most part, it's just a strange annual vortex or something that the biggest parks (SFMM, SFOG, SFGADV) are pulled into from early June through late August. Subsequently, the weather heats up, line jumpers break out brass knuckles, ops begin to not care, parks catch on fire, gang fights rage out of control, drive bys start to happen, and Looney Toons characters punch out early. It's like the Santa Ana winds, hurricane season in Florida, or any other predictable annual occurance. Not to worry though, because at least everything will be suger coated again come season pass appreciation day.
  18. Isn't that a bit contradictory? If you like to ride 'em, then you know the point is having fun while riding them....right? Anyway, besides the DBH, once you have the opportunity to leave Florida for once, it may become a bit clearer what the point is. I think the northern states may hold the key to your full understanding of wood, my friend.
  19. Unfortunately, any country stupid enough to have them is also capable of being stupid enough to use them as well.
  20. ^ Yeah, but we are talking about Six Flags here. I'm not exactly sure where that free water is coming from. It could be the garden hose out back, or overflow water from the river rapids ride for all we know. Seriously though, are you saying the restaurants give out free water in small cups? Is that what you were referring to?
  21. Wait, you mean you weren't distracted from the horrible customer service by the super duper neato new "family friendly" parades this year? I figured that, and not getting shot (like Lou said) would make you happy. I guess nothing works these days.
  22. I'll preface this by saying I don't believe you are one, Nicole. But, yeah, I'm gonna go out on a limb with this one and say that having your breasteses grabbed on numerous occasions for 12,000+ worldwide members to see over the last 6months probably didn't help matters any as far as impressions go. It's cool that you can laugh about it though.....that's more than most could do. Scott "I'm just sayin'" B.
