I haven't watched in years either. Weren't these awards completely voted on by the public (every 11-17 year old under the sun) this year? I thought I remembered hearing that somewhere. Or was that some other pointless "awards" show? Scott "How can they keep giving out Video Music Awards with no videos on the channel anymore?" B.

Yeah, I know about the Speedway rumor thing. I'm just trying my best to not think about it actually happening. And the million dollar estimate....yeah, I really should've eaten breakfast this morning, huh? Clearly I wasn't thinking straight since that number would make no sense by today's standards. Regardless, it's not something the company would be needing a loan for. If it cost them 200 million, it'd still be worth it by my estimation. Hmmm, it is too late to hold a garage sale for M:S?

^ Well, that's a given, regardless of what it is. Just look at the Griffon thread. -
Concerning skyrides, does anyone know what the lifespan of the cables is, and what they cost to replace? As far as the Disney monorail system goes, they've talked about expanding that for years, yet building a 100 million dollar death machine is far more important than improving the transportation system. Honestly, considering the complexity of the "world" in which they operate, the bus system is highly effective and efficient IMHO. With that said, they certainly need to consider linking MGM, AK, and several outer band hotels to the loop. If memory serves me correctly, the current length of the track is around 14 miles long. When I asked a monorail driver several years ago, the cost to build new track was estimated around 1 million per mile. Now I ask you, unless a 5th gate was secretly in the works or something, why wouldn't they take measures to expand that rail system for maybe even a 1/3 of what it cost to build EE or MS? Seems logical to me, but I guess that's maybe why I'm sitting here typing this rather than occupying a corner office somewhere with a view of the park. Who knows?

Wow. I leave to play poker, and this is what I miss? By the way, why photoshop Mean Streak disappearing? You should be banned for teasing us like that. -
I hate to wish ill will on anyone, but for comments like that, I hope your home is the first to go when a "show" does arrive one day. Have you, and others not watched any coverage of disastrous storms in the past? And did you not live through Wilma last year? I know for certain that my Mom lived without power and fresh water for a week or so after that one. That's just a power outage, but enough to mess up your life for a while. Do you people not quite grasp what it'd be like to literally lose everything you own? Wow. Sorry for the rant, but stuff like this still amazes me.

Not for those who like yachting and golfing. Glad you guys were spared down there though....for now, at least.

And if I remember correctly, WDW's quit operating after a CM fell to his death from one. He was sweeping the station in Fantasyland and was forced to grab onto the bucket as it was leaving the station. He held on until somewhere near the first post, then sadly fell. I doubt that was the only reason they stopped operating (high maintenence, stopages in high winds and lightning storms), but it probably was the straw that broke the camel's back. I always had a love/hate thing with skyrides. They offer great views, but always made me uneasy at the same time. Even so, I still wish more parks had them. -

Exaclty. Those 90% don't realize that Disney needs Universal as well as Sea World, and even BGTamprica. Do they need them to actually survive? No. But competition is good for business. It turns the area into a "vacation destination," so why continue to bash each other? And let's face it, when you're talking about central Florida theme parks, is there really a "bad" one? The only complaint I've ever had about any of them are the steep prices. Other than that, they're all great in so many different ways.

^ "Put 2 & 2 together" is clearly pointing towards the "2" in H2O. Which would definitely explain that this is an aquatrax. It certainly has nothing to do with any proposed track layout or elements. That's just crazy talk. -

Can't get enough of that retro goodness. It's amazing to see how clean the parks appeared back then. I guess that's when Americans still had a few morals and ethics about visiting places. Anywho, how tall were those skyride towers? Maybe it's just me, but they look freakin' huge! I'm trying to picture all the other skyrides I've ever been on (Magic Kingdom, Disneyland, BGT, SFOG, etc, etc) and it just seems like none of them were that high up. Maybe I'm wrong, and it just looks different. Can any skyride fanatics out there clarify that? It just sort of caught my eye for some strange reason. -

Nice job, Shari. Liberty Tree Tavern...mmmm You're actually the first person I've heard comment on the castle's gold ornaments. Does anyone else like 'em? Personally, I wish they'd leave it the way it looks in your avatar, but that's just me. Although, anything's better than the cake. Scott "anxious for more WDW pics" B.
