  1. I agree with you in principle- however look at what Cedar Point is doing with Maverick (whether you love the idea or hate it, there is NOTHING else like it) and it will be heavily themed and still be known as a "Thrill Ride" per se. And it's not that big overall, not going to break any height or speed records or records for inversions. But it does look like fun. Disney could do that. They are already good at the fun/theming part. I think what jaded me was that I got stuck on a boat in the middle of "It's A Small Small World" once for twenty minutes----and that was when I was working for Disney. Who Knows? Thanks for the input!
  2. To the post above mine: You can't go wrong with the first six Queen Albums- (though Queen II does take a few repeat listens to to "Get It") Queen Queen II Sheer Heart Attack A Night At The Opera (Best Overall Queen Album) A Day At The Races News Of The World The Hits were hits and the classics still classics, but DIG DEEP- there are many surprises that are often overlooked.
  3. I can see both sides of the fence- I actually worked for Disney for a summer internship. What I'm saying though, is that since they already have a number of family-oriented parks (and I love 'em all), wouldn't it make "financial sense" for them to capture the "Thrill Seekers" as well??? I am really curious, and please if you disagree, I welcome your responses. I am not Anti-Disney, just trying to get a pulse on what our expecations are from the Magic Kingdom and related properties.
  4. I had precisely one nacho chip today. Other than that haven't had one for a couple weeks. How many flour tortillas have you consumed this year?

  6. What with all the land that Disney has in Florida, should they build the next chapter of theme parks, with a "land" devoted solely to rides a la Six Flags/Cedar Fair- or should they keep the "Magic" alive and cater more towards the "Family" theme. My opinion is since they already have the "Family-Themed Experience" down pat, they should build a park with "Rides" for the Thrill Seekers. Just my .02
  7. Some of the Best Queen Songs You'll Rarely Hear On The Radio. I was going to say NEVER, but I have heard most of these at least once at one time or another: Liar Funny How Love Is Tenement Funster/Flick Of The Wrist The Prophet's Song (every bit as good as Bo Rhap!!!) White Man Drowse It's Late (awesome) Get Down Make Love Let Me Entertain You Don't Try Suicide Calling All Girls Hammer To Fall Was It All Worth It? Let Me Live
  8. Lots!!! Every single park I've been to that's had one I have ridden. How many times in the last week have you not eaten what you had a taste for??? AHEM . . .I'm talking foodstuffs only . . .
  9. The "What If Game" is fun when you are single and on the prowl, but once you are in a relationship . . . well it can cause problems. I agree, my exes are my exes for a reason, BUT, just because we are not together doesn't mean any one of them should be an enemy or avoided. I was attracted to them and vice versa mutually and for a reason, and just because we can't be with each other day to day in a working relationship, it's nice to know they are out there, and there ARE some really great memories. It's just a matter of when you let the past be the past and move on.
  10. I love Queen but they lost it at the end. They kinda lost all the bombast and over-the-top-ishness that made them stand out in the 70's, although I do own all their records. And STILL play them regularly. I was the only kindergartener who knew all the words to "Bo Rhap" the first time around in the 70's. Thank my brothers who are ten years older than me and got me hooked. Their first 6 albums are classics. No contest. They had some great songs on all their albums from that point on, but "A Night At The Opera" is one of my 10 Best Albums of all times. I Wish Freddie were still around, but I am glad that they picked Paul Rodgers. He is as stated, "Not trying to be Freddie" but making songs his own to sing. They (Roger, Brian, and Paul) are supposedly recording again. YAY!!!! I for one can't wait.
  11. Absolutely not. Kid Rock needs to learn grammar and verb tenses. Have you seen lightning strike an object within a couple hundred feet of where you stand???
  12. As a kid growing up in the early 70's it was Sauzer's Kiddyland in Schererville, IN. (They had THE BEST mini Train ride ever). They are listed on Roller Coaster DataBase Once it opened, Marriot's (later and still) Six Flags Great America, is my HOME park. Parks I can get to in 5 hours drive: Indiana Beach (about the same drive as SFGA but different direction) Cedar Point King's Island Holiday World Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom
  13. No but I plan to go next year. Have you ever heard "Holiday Road"? by Lindsey Buckingham from National Lampoon's "Vacation"??
  14. Most of my exes have moved on, married, had kids and the whole shebang. I wish them all well. Usually it's easier if I don't see them for a while (example, I didn't literally speak to my ex-wife ((not out of animosity, just because)) for 2 and a half years) and now we can be in the same room and enjoy each other's company again. We both know that we aren't going home with each other on any particular night and I think that that makes it easier. At least I don't think we are going home with each other!!!
  15. When the occasion arises that you run into your "EX" whether it be significant other/ former spouse, how do you react? I invited my ex-wife out tonight with some friends and we had a great time and I even remembered what attracted me to her in the first place and why we enjoyed each other's company MORE SO than why we broke up. However, I cannot be in the same room with the woman who I dated for a couple years after my divorce. We have no earthly reason to be together, but if we are, there's such a strong chemical reaction that we end up together- again- only just to break right back up. Most of my EX's (pre marriage) and I are still on good terms and generally enjoy each other's company. Just wondering where every one else stood?
  16. Blue Streak at Cedar Point. The first time that I got to ride it was in 82 I think. We all looked at it and went "Wow" what a tiny little thing, but since it was there, we got in line. And what fun it was, especially since at that time the only restraint was the two-seat ratchet bar, lots of airtime. Surprised the heck out of all my family at the time. It's still fun, even with the new restraints, but it's not quite the same. I WILL however still wait in line no matter what. Same thing with Viper at Six Flags Great America- when they installed it I was like "Why build a smaller woodie that you already have????" And now I like it even better than the American Eagle. Viper is awesome, YAY for the double down!!!!!!!
  17. On rainy days when I'm off (fall and winter) I'll read, go online or cook.
  18. Olive green Kohl's sweatshirt. Dark U.S. Polo jeans. Black Socks- (I almost never wear white socks) Dark Blue Froot Of The Looms. However, I'm going to bed now which means boxers and an old t-shirt.
  19. While Robb, Joey, and Guy were sitting around seriously thinking of forming a new boy band Doo Wop Group. However, their discussion was interrupted by a knock at the door. When Robb went to answer it he was disheartened to find that it was a singing Shriveled Lemon-O-Gram crooning the all too familiar "Citrus Song", thusly Robb . . .
  20. I actually don't chew gum. Kinda weird but I chew very hard and after five minutes with gum my mouth is sore. My favorite gum when I was a kid before I developed my strange anit-gum stance was Bubs Daddy Green Apple Gum ropes. If they still made it I'd chew it til my jaw broke- that was the BEST
  21. I read A LOT- probably get through 3-4 novels every two weeks. Just read a book reccommended by one of my favorite authors James W. Hall called "Dark Of The Moon" by P.J. Parrish - - - -excellent read!!! Went cover to cover thru it in 6 hours because I couldn't put it down.
  22. Awesome!!!! Congratulations and what great news!!! If I am invited to the Baby Shower I will buy you Playskool's new "Baby's First Vekoma" No really, just kidding. Again, I wish all three of you the best !!!
  23. Yay for the extra hour of sleep seeing as how I have to work in the morning. Boo, for losing the extra hour of daylight.
  24. I'll say two, but literally I almost never watch t.v. (really) How many minutes do you program your microwave for, for the perfect batch of popcorn??? I'm talkin' like only four or five unpopped kernals yet not any of the popped ones getting burnt!!!
  25. Sorry no pic, but it was a Goose Island Oktoberfest. VERRRRRRY tasty.
