  1. Thanks for your response. I'll probably be at the Mountain next weekend and hope to ride it if it's running. My only thought is I liked riding the original Superman (and all coasters) with my arms up. If you're on an end seat (which I like) you can't do that with these new restraints. The exception is the first row of 2. Is that correct?
  2. Trust me Mean Streak is terrible and getting worse every year. One woody you need to ride is Blue Streak. I absolutely love it. Gemini is also fun and Sky Hawk always scares the $hit out of me every time I ride it. One last one if you like "ear boxing" - Mantis by Millie. All those rides will keep you busy.
  3. I found with the trims in place that the 3rd hill yielded the best airtime. Now that the trims are off, please don't add anymore.
  4. Get out your snow shoes and bundle up you So Cal folks. Here it comes again...
  5. I remember being at a Coastermania event and Monty Jasper - (I'm not sure of his exact title) Director of Maintenance for all Cedar Fair parks made a statement that Rebel Yell will never run backwards again. For me I could care less. I don't do coasters backwards unless you're talking the New Superman at Magic Mountain.
  6. I love Rebel Yell, and can ride it all day and have I get there in the late summer to ride and find it great. One disclaimer, I ride it in the front seat only. From personal experience Hurler is brutal (I can endure only 1 ride) , and Grizzly isn't too bad although this past summer I rode it at night and read a post here on TPR about hitting your fingers on one of the over passes. It was dark and guess what - OUCH! For me Rebel Yell gets my vote.
  7. I'll tell you one thing. Cedar Point won't let another coaster in the chain (Cedar Fair) go faster then Millennium Force. I'm predicting 92 MPH. That will work...
  8. Okay Robb, I guess I'll call you the "Coaster Grand Poo-Bah!" I guess now I'll need to stop calling it In-Trim-adator. We'll see what it's like this year !!! Besides you can't spell listen.
  9. This is a L.A. thing! Now it has become a "Cedar Fair thing." They put one in at Knotts last year, and they're always busy.
  10. Do the arm guards include the last row? I can't really see from the picture you posted, but I'm guessing yes. I hope not since I always like to ride with my arms up. Looks like that won't happen anymore on Superman. Oh well, at least the backwards launch, increased speed 100+, and to the top hopefully will make up for that. Middle seats look like hands up!
  11. I'm curious, anybody been on Superman yet for the "rehearsals?" I hope the rain stays away so some of you can ride and post. The suspense is killing me
  12. You must be on drugs liking Mean Streak at all. I pray for this ride to end on the rare occasions I grace the seat with my but. I say burn it down!!! They've unsuccessfully tried this several times recently.
  13. Nice pictures Steve -- thanks. Looks like this will be a different ride this season. Time will tell.
  14. I haven't ridden the hurricane in a few years. It was great in the front, which really surprised me. Do they still have an all you can ride special on the hurricane? That Chick-fil-A is near my home in Pompano. I recognize the sign and I can see the Goodyear on Copans.
  15. Great pictures! Too bad Cedar Fair neutered the Beast several years ago with all the new trims that ruin it's pacing. I love their (K.I.) Intimadator much more than the Virginia (Kings Dominion) In-trim-adator We'll see what In-trim-adator is like this year with the re-profiling. I'm sure I'll still like this B&M version better.
  16. That's so sad if it's true. This was a great idea of Brandon's.
  17. This looks good, but time will tell. Let's be optimistic for now. I've not been to this Dallas 6 Flags, so I've got to plan. Dallas isn't my favorite city, but to ride I'll do it.
  18. I actually approached the park about this too. The response was: They are confident that if you pony up the cash, they will deliver a top notch event! If Jay Thomas was still there and in charge, I'd believe that statement. With this new regime in place, I'm skeptical. Why? How much time has the new band been together to make you feel strongly one way or the other? Jay left this past fall I think. You could always see him anywhere in the park on any day smiling, laughing and speaking with his customers. The park has changed significantly since then and not for the better. I've been at the past several WCB's and the ERT included all rides! That's a tremendous commitment to us if nothing else in staffing costs. I've been to the park this year 3 times and tomorrow will make 4. Things are not equal to or better than last season.
  19. Looks great , this ride was in definite need of help. I was there for a few days after Christmas, and it was brutal. Let's hope the new GCII trains here, make it better than the new trains on Wildcat (Hershey Park).
  20. I actually approached the park about this too. The response was: They are confident that if you pony up the cash, they will deliver a top notch event! If Jay Thomas was still there and in charge, I'd believe that statement. With this new regime in place, I'm skeptical.
  21. I actually approached the park about this too. The response was: They are confident that if you pony up the cash, they will deliver a top notch event! Okay Robb, if you notice I didn't blame you. I'm just disappointed that the normal WCB shirt is $10 more on top of the $53. $63. for a day at the park is getting expensive!
  22. Is it possible they removed this statue during the Green Lantern clearing process: Yes I think that looks like the statue I spoke of earlier. If you've got a picture of it from the back look at it. If not look to the left as you go up the lift hill on Pocky. What is that a statue of???
  23. I see the prices are posted for WCB. The Mountain must really be putting it to Robb this year! $53. without a shirt. I guess 6 Flags is really trying to cash in on this one. All I can say is Coastermania at Cedar Point has always been free if you have a season pass. They haven't posted pricing yet for 2011 only the dates. I still love the Mountain, but they're starting rape us enthusiasts.
