  1. Amen brother, and hallelujah! That's why I call it "breaking wind."
  2. I haven't ridden it yet, but comparing it to Kumba isn't a compliment in my book. I can't wait to get to "the Busch."
  3. I have been telling a joke to my friends and family, that the reason it is located right next to the beach is because when the people fall out they would just land in the water. At least that would be a nice soft (but cold) landing.
  4. Rumor has it they're removing the old pirate ride (building only used during Halloweekends), and the flat ride behind Blue Streak. Blue Streak stays!!! I love it.
  5. Here is my text trip report. I posted on the CP discussion site since there wasn't a Coastermania site. Coastermania Trip Report: Extraordinary event especially for the price $0.00 for anyone with a coasterclub id (TPR), and a day pass or season pass. No upcharges! Breaking Wind (aka: Windseeker) still not close to opening any time soon. Work was being done on it all day Friday and Saturday. I did see it complete cycle twice on Saturday at around 7PM. It really is a beautiful ride at night. No work today on Sunday as it's a day of rest I guess. Friday evenings "social hour" was superb. The food was great free drinks and you could buy a beer for less than $4. That beer price was barely more than they charge for a Pepsi at the vending machines at the park . Did I say this was all free except for the booze??? They had 2 kinds of wings, meatballs, and something else I can't remember right now. Oh yea, baked potatoes with the fixins, veggies and fruit too. After the social hour they had a "love fest" for "Big Dick" Kinzel. Of course I didn't participate, but was there. The man has truly done a lot for the park and the Cedar Fair name, but his time has long since past several years ago. Someone asked a question of him regarding bigger woodies. His response was (which I couldn't believe), with the current state of the art the tallest woodie that can be built and maintained was 80 feet! Many people said what about El Toro (of course I was wearing my E.T. shirt), but he just ignored them and moved on. Talk about being out of touch! The film festival was hilarious. You had to be there. If you were, you know what I'm talking about. Friday night's ERT's were super, running as usual well past midnight (closer to 1am). I left at 12:20 since I was to be back on Saturday at 5:30 for the morning ERT. God knows I need my beauty sleep! Saturday we had early morning ERT and evening ERT (which I didn't attend thanks to all the bugs - muckelheads and May flies). I wish there was a way to control them, but they do taste like chicken. Saturday's free lunch had hot dogs, ziti pasta, potato salad, and Hawaiian chicken. My only disappointment was no Toft's ice cream cups. That's been a tradition over the years. I had a great time at the park for the weekend Friday -- today Sunday getting 116 rides in! Just a great time, and next year there will be no "Big Dick." That's worth looking forward to...

  7. I've always been a BIG Jay Thomas fan. Just watching and listening to Bonnie (current park president) speaks volumes (negative) of what is and isn't going on. The president sets the bar for everyone in management and operations. I've visited the park extensively (22 days including Superman media day) this past year, and it's significantly different (worse) under her rein. Jay is a great guy and definitely a people person. In my opinion he's severely missed. Just my 2 cents on this issue.
  8. I was at Carowinds this past weekend (Sat, Sun, and Monday). The rideops on Intimidator on Saturday were EXCELLENT! Even with the line filling all the switchbacks, the wait was no longer than 45 minutes. I also appreciate the single rider line (always by myself), except I see families filling that line and then giving the "line sifter" grief for not letting them ride together. Why do you think it's called a single rider line?? They had 6 rideops on the platform counting the panel person, and were extremely efficient. I just wanted to give credit where credit is due. Most of the posts here on the forums are just bitch sessions. I'm glad to share something positive. This Intimidator is #4 on my steel favs. I guess I'm just a B&M airtime whore.
  9. The author also states that Coney Island has just opened it's first new roller coaster since the Cyclone went in in the 1920's. Could 2 Six Flags parks on opposite coasts open 2 new coasters with the same name??? How could they be different???? The G.P. is so lame.
  10. I was at Carowinds this past Saturday and Sunday and just wanted to commend the staff working Intimidator. They still use a "line sifter" at the top of the stairs , but they do it efficiently . Good staffing and they always hustle. Just a great experience. Thank you Intimidator rideops....
  11. This place is far better and surpasses Cedar Point in every way! I'm excited for them to get the #1 crown back! Hey, where can I get one of those plush pussies for $6???
  12. I'm guessing you're experiencing atrial fibrillation. It's common in older folks, but I'll bet your not. It probably wouldn't hurt to tell your doctor about it next time you see him. He can check it out for you. It's not a fatal arrhythmia, but as I said earlier it could be a problem for older folks. I think this is my first serious post on TPR. I hope it helps.
  13. Just a bunch of FRIGGIN' IDIOTS Busch needs to put up signs saying "No Whining in Line!" Whining is grounds for ejection from the park with no refund. That will make more room for us that understand.
  14. Great ride video. I like "double d's" so I'm sure I'll love DDD! I liked the Matt Lauer joke too...
  15. NICE! I'll be there this season and looking forward to it. I think the lapbars will be great!
  16. Smooth twisty, not fast rough twisty! I can't wait! Looks like finally a new Intamin ride that I'll enjoy! Really glad I got my season pass! Oh yea Robb, great interviews and on ride commentary!
  17. I'm in total agreement with your explanation. I'm not a fan of it and will only ride during ERT at Coastermania once.
  18. Looks great ! I love looking at babes on a coaster Nice addition, it's been awhile for SFOG, got to hit it this year. Maybe I'll meet one of those babes!
  19. This ride looks great! I wish I was home in Florida this upcoming weekend, but I'm up here in North Carolina so I'll ride at Carowinds this weekend. I think I'll really like it from the POV. I too await Rob's version! I'll like the somewhat slower speed of the ride, with the Intamin "signature" quick direction changes (al la Maverick, Timi 305) of their latest rides. Those transitions hurt when you have your arms up to enjoy. I'm looking forward to this one, and a trip to Tampa.
  20. I was at Busch this past Sunday and enjoyed myself. One observation though. Do they normally send an empty row 2 (quick queue) if there are no guests in line for it? Especially on Apollo, that would shorten the line by 4 if they filled it. I observed this on all rides with quick queue.
  21. ^^ I guess maybe I missed it, but I didn't realize there would be full sized cheetahs there! I thought only the cub would be there with the pooch. Nice touch Busch...
