I don't ride Bizarro anymore, but I'm sad to hear of its inefficient operations. I remember by mid-summer of 1999, Medusa's first season, the crews were top notch and really worked with a sense of urgency. The line would often fill all three switchbacks and maybe another 50 people were beyond the entrance, yet the line rarely exceeded 35 minutes. Jim I ride Bizarro for the ride. The crew is the worst at Great Adventure. They could get a full time job at any Cedar Fair park and fit right in.

Ha I probably saw you Saturday, I saw at least 40 people with ACE shirts throughout the day. Great day at the park, the first 2 hours were amazing since the early morning rain scared everyone away. I was on like the 3rd train of the day, front row on KK, and was able to stay on a few rides (Toro, Nitro and B:TR) without getting off. I'm no longer a member of ACE and I don't wear ACE shirts anymore. I was at Nitro for 14 rides for ERT on Saturday. Yes, the rain possibility kept people away on Sunday. Great Adventure is my #2 favorite park - 6 Flags Magic Mountain is my #1. FINALLY got my Green Lantern credit too, though I rode it as Chang back in 2006. Delivered more forces than I remember, but still found it a bit uneventful. Just never liked the stand-up gimmick. Oh, and Nitro was running FANTASTIC. Rode it in borderline-pouring rain and it was a helluva lot of fun. Toro was amazing as usual (though I hate how they slow it down at the top of the lift now...it takes a lot out of the first drop, and a little bit out of the 1st camelback), and since it's been a year, riding KK was awesome in the front row. I wish they'd just replace those trains, though, and go with the slicker trains on TTD. The restraints don't bother me, but I think the bulkiness of the trains just don't do well at those speeds, and it makes for an earthquake-like ride in every other car besides the 1st.

El Toro - 1 train operation. I was at Great Adventure the last 2 days. I was at my only ACE event (don't boo me) "Riding of the Bull Cuatro" yesterday. The event was amazing, but not as fun as the TPR events! The A train is off the track and they're only running 1 train. This was true even during out event. The entire top of car 2 is off, so all you see is the chassis. Always the staff hustles on that ride, but 1 train operation is unbearable! I know they're only open now Saturdays and Sundays until Fright Fest begins, so this was maintenance problem was puzzling. I hope it's back to normal for next weekend's operation. El Toro my #1 Woodie

^^^^ Beautiful pictures of the park and peninsula. I see finally the Space Spiral cabin is on the ground. It's been stuck in the middle for a long time. That should disappear soon too. -

That's a fair assessment in relation to the article, but taking everything else into consideration, SFMM lacks flats, whereas CP has some very nice ones. Also, CP is more vacation-like to me. It feels more like a park you spend a few days at than SFMM. Just my opinion though... Thats how I always look at this situation. People who are die hard fans of both places "swear on their lives" that their park is better. Honestly, the only way MM even compares to Cp is simply their coasters. CP has them beat in every other category. How do people see these parks as similar/comparable beyond coasters? This remains a mystery to me.. True C.P. is more of a "vacation destination" than the Mountain. I grew up in Cleveland (so this was my home park), and know how good the employees have been (past tense) at C.P. I go to M.M. more frequently now because of the rides, and personally I find the employees much better and very hospitable. I know many will differ with me, but things changed at C.P. about 4 or 5 years ago and have never been the same. -

I was at the Wonderland for several days this past week. I've never seen a park soooo busy and I travel all over. The only good ride time I got was the early entry for season pass holders on Thursday. I got 11 rides on Behemoth. I was visiting from American and I found it very strange that with all the flags at the entrance -- no American Flag! Are these Canadian Provincial flags? It's owned by an American Company -- Cedar Fair. No US flag anywhere in the park even in the International Expo area. WOW... -

My first trip to Canada's Wonderland was tonight. I was only there for 3 hours and had 2 weather delays. My first ride was on Leviathan, and I love the speed and first drop. I'm amazed no mid-course break. I preferred Behemoth over Leviathan. It's a lot longer, and a lot more airtime. I'm a B&M airtime junkie. The evening show was quite interesting. I was amazed at the mountain at the end of the fountains as you enter. The closing show projects images on that mountain, and it's done quite well - eh! -

Hey Pal, thanks for the update. I'll be at the park for the first time Tuesday -- Thursday. I hope the lift motor is up and going by then. I'm looking forward to my visit. I've not been there before. I'm a big B&M fan, so I know I'll have a great time. -

I've never been there before. I'll be there next week for a few days, as long as I don't need to fly home to prepare for hurricane Isaac hitting the Miami area. Hopefully it'll miss, and head to the gulf coast. I've been reading this thread and I'm ready. I won't buy the Fast Lane on general principles. I've paid enough for the platinum season pass, so I'll be waiting in the queue lines when I'm there. I like all you people using / recommending Fast Lane since I'm a stock holder in Cedar Fair, and that's a huge money maker for the corporation! -

Hmm that's a good idea. I've already hit all the CP credits, but I have not yet been to Kings Island. Perhaps I'll make the loop. For those that have been, can KI be accomplished in a day? And is the ride to CP about four hours? I was planning a Monday to Friday trip, but I can just as well push that from Monday to Saturday. As others have said, the trip is < 5 hours. I was at K.I. today, and the local schools started back today, so the park was empty. I left at 5PM (including 9am early entry with season pass) with 32 rides for the day. During the summer it's busy, but you can get it done using Fast Lane. I never pay extra, but that's just me. -

Don't hold your breath on the RMC comment. It's already been addressed by management last year at Coastermania as too expensive. -

There are still no quick links this morning. I think this leak was a mistake last night. We'll know officially in 31 or so hours. So far to me it looks great! It's a B&M, so I should love it. No Intamin QDC's - quick direction changes. All I can say is it's about time for a new coaster at the Point. -

The only proper way to ride should be to sit down and enjoy. There shouldn't be any work done to properly ride a coaster just so it can be enjoyable. I agree, I like to ride with my arms up and not have to think about or anticipate the ride. I like to let the ride "have it's way with me." Maverick was the first ride of this type that has the Intamin "QDC - quick direction changes." I'm not a fan of those at all. Yes, the I305 restraints would be an improvement for Maverick. Can you imagine how painful this ride could've been in it's original configuration? There was some QDC coming right out of the acceleration tunnel that was removed before the ride was opened. Intamin re-profiled that curve so it "wouldn't be too rough on the trains." What would that have done to the riders??? I've got high hopes for the new ride being announced at the Point on Monday. I didn't like their last coaster - Maverick soon to be almost 6 years ago... I thought the heartline roll was the only part that was reprofiled, the tunnel exit is already one of the quickest direction changes on the ride and I can't imagine it being any quicker. Is there any news/pictures about the "QDC" reprofiling out of the tunnel? I only remember the ride opening was delayed and Intamin was working "overtime" to make it rideable for the "trains." I'm very sure it was the release from the LIMS at the end of the tunnel. Why did you guess the end of the tunnel? Don't you know the heartline roll was redone? How do you know about the end of the tunnel. Also, I think Maverick uses LSMs, not LIMs. Here's your proof from Wickipedia. On May 8, 2007, four days before Maverick was scheduled to debut, park general manager John Hildebrant announced that the ride would be delayed until early June because three 40-foot (12 m) track sections after the second launch needed to be replaced. These sections made up the heartline roll element and put excessive stress on the trains, which also might have caused discomfort to passengers due to high g-forces.[4] On May 17, 2007, the heartline roll was removed and was replaced with an s-curve.[13] The s-curve transitions the existing track from a banked right curve to a banked left curve. Installation of the s-curve was completed on May 24 and final testing and licensing of the attraction resumed.[14] On the same day, Cedar Point officials also announced that Maverick would debut on May 26.[15] -

I see Cedar Point has added a front gate cam! The anticipation is building for Monday... They've also cleaned the lenses of the other 2 cams - yea... Here's the link http://174.121.245.214/cp/PagodaCam_1024.jpg -
The last car has great airtime on the first drop! With the lap bars and no stapling it's good. Also the hill after the picture (before the MCBR) has sustained airtime of nearly 6 seconds in the back! Maybe I'm giving away a secret, but I'm tried of all the whining about no airtime at the Mountain. Also "Pocky" has airtime all over the ride. Again I like it in the back car. That's why I love GCII woodies.

The live video cam is back up this afternoon in the same location. No relocation yet so we could watch the demise of Disaster Transport and the Space Spiral.
