Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread

I'm just worried when all these "fans" start cutting the cheese! Sometimes you've got to take some pain with the pleasure. If you can't take it don't ride it again. Without riding it yet (hopefully in the next several weeks), I can't wait. As my signature says, I live for the airtime! I know this will be in my top 10 and probably in the top 5. -

I've never been to Fun Spot. I typically don't visit these types of parks. I need to make an exception on this one! I'm a BIG GCII FAN... -

I've tried to find out this answer through research unsuccessfully. Does anyone know the cost of El Toro my favorite woodie??? -

I vote yes, on that note. The only good wood at C.P. is Blue Streak. -
Just a bit of information regarding chain wide parking. Yesterday I was at Great Adventure in New Jersey, and purchased a "Go Park" sticker for my Magic Mountain thrill pass. It costs $20 to park here. They should give you a car wash for that price! I bought this sticker for my MM season pass for $55. I used discover and got 5% off. I also got credit for my $20 parking to get in in Jersey. Now, I won't need to pay to park at any park in the chain!

I'm thinking it cost more, since there are no others like it here. It's amazing that after 6 years (happy birthday to the Bull soon), you don't see any replacement wood on it. Obviously, it was built to last. After work yesterday I got 10 rides before closing, even though it was quite busy. Just a great hustling crew.

That baby is really hauling a$$. Maybe I'll finally like one of the new Intamin coasters. It's all in the restraints... or lack of! -

Good thing there is no OTSRs. I do see one direction change on the twisty hill thing before the final small bunnyhill, but if I'm correct your talking about the transitions between flat turns like in the beginning of Maverick and on I305. El Toro has those transitions too, but because its just lapbars, there's no possible discomfort! You are correct sir! I love El Toro, it's my #1 woodie. I can't wait for Sky Rush! I'll be there the end of June. Not sure if I can wait that long... -

Correction: Twisties! I don't mind "twisties," it's the quick one direction then a quick turn in the other. For me this creates too much head banging / neck crunching into the OTSR. -

Looks like a GREAT RIDE, thanks for the video. Looks like lots of airtime everywhere, with none of the usual Intamin (QDC) Quick Direction Changes (eg. Maverick, I305) that I don't like. I can't wait... -

You've got that in the wrong order. Just reverse it Mean Streak, Iron Dragon, Disaster Transport. Mean Streak must go!!! -
I can tell you again, when Jay was there he was always walking the midways with his trash wand speaking to guests and picking up trash on the ground. He enjoyed being with his guests. The same is not true now. In fact 9 times out of 10 I would see him at the entrance gate before the park opened. He was so fanatical that he wouldn't let fallen leaves stay on the midway during the fall season. He had his people picking up what nature dropped. His departure was a great loss.

For me I know I'll like SkyRush better than I305. I do love Intamin, but not a fan of the quick direction changes of their rides now (I305, Maverick, etc.) I'm really more of a fan of B&M lately... Baby I'm ready to goooooo... Lightning Racer is my #2 wood fav., and don't forget about Fahrenheit.
