  1. Great report Robb, I love the format. Hearing the opinion on Hard Rock from some of the coma pines that sold to it was interesting, loved the little tidbits about the Alton woodie too! Thanks
  2. This looks like a great couple of days! I remember going to the space centre on a family holiday and really enjoyed it. Its nice to see they get the "geek factor" and put these kinds of events on
  3. Wow, what a kick off to IAAPA! Great coverage too, thanks!
  4. Great report David! They're really excelled themselves with the theming and the pictures capture that fantastically!
  5. Ha! I'd be interested to see the scale that they would attempt with this. This franchise has way less traction and longevity than potter. I see this working better as a series of mazes or scare zones at a halloween event rather than a whole park.
  6. Wow, if they pull this off it looks to be the most ambitious "ground up" park in some time. I really enjoyed my visit to Texas this year, hopefully I can look forward to coming and trying all this out in 2016!
  7. Nice! The park looks well presented for the holidays. Does the event run every night or select days during the week?
  8. How many other hard rock rides have been successfully relocated? I find it odd that it's taken this long to get the attractions out to other parks.
  9. Nice! I'm aways a fan of more projection mapping
  10. Glad to see this is finally opening, I can't help but feel it might be a bit f a let down though. I guess I'll have to wait until I ride but a multi-year wait for a coaster that has already had its trump card "trumped" is going to be difficult to ignore!
  11. Thanks for the update, it's a shame to hear that the park isn't really improving in the same way that the others are. Having just been back to WDW for the first time in 6 years I was struck by how well presented the place was and I had a great time there. I fear I wouldn't get the same feeling at Paris, it's been 5 years since I visited and I wouldn't mind if it was 5 years until I go again and it's a shame but I think I'm not the only one! Ratatouille is the only thing that would make me contemplate making the journey but I doubt it will go anywhere for a while so I think I'm of the opinion that I'll get there when I get there!
  12. ^ It looks like you've just finished a round of quest
  13. It's nice to see the project progressing - I'm so excited to finally use this next time I visit the parks!
  14. Its not RFID, its basically a TV Remote. The towers send out the infrared signals, and your hats receive it and react. Was it like the Coldplay gigs where they give everyone a wristband and they light up during the show so the stadium looks crazy? That'd be really cool if they could eventually roll something like that out on a daily basis for shows!
  15. ^ There are some mean people in this world. Great TR Robb - this was probably my favourite day of the trip. Such a cool park to hang out at, a ton of alcohol, great company and a kick ass party (with even more FOOD!) No idea what Adam and William were up to, I'm sure it was totally non-offensive.
  16. Oh wow, is there not some kind of monopoly commission is the states to stop this?!? The hotels are incredibly expensive (seemingly owing to the "value" of free park admission) and there is hardly any competition because he is buying everything!
  17. Thanks for sharing, I just had pizza nostalgia looking at that!
  18. My main addiction the the black pepper and olive oil ones, the were on sale @ 2 for $5 which was fine for me. I had to buy a second bag to get them home though!
  19. I'm not sure I'm sold on the idea of English speaking boats. I like embracing the culture even if I don't understand it. Jaws in Japan was epic and I didn't have a clue what was going on - just really enjoyed being there!
  20. Florida for me. The overall quality of the parks is better and far more of them are year round. The only draw back to SoCal for me is carsland. I'd live to go and visit again some day but I'd always prefer to go to Florida that little bit more!
  21. Ha! I think you're right on both counts. They're shredded wheat biscuits presumably laced with crack. I'm think of starting an international snack exchange where I will ship people random British things in exchange for Triscuits! As a side note on the report, I feel compelled to say that the margarita at Rocco's Tacos was insanely good!!
  22. ^I think everest is a good "fun" ride. It's great for families, has a good story and impressive theming and it's in a massive mountain! I prefer Rock n roller coaster in Paris because the ride room has much more impressive theming, the light show is great Florida's is still fun and I really like the audio package but France is just ahead IMO.
  23. Wow, I didn't realise the stock performance was that good! I guess that guest experience and stock value are eventually linked but I didn't expect to see both do better so early on.
  24. I think we're a good decade or so from glasses free 3D. I expect to see holograms quite soon though. If you have control over where the viewer is I understand it's not too difficult to achieve a good hologram effect with new technology. I'm intrigued to see how this expansion develops, the park is certainly in need of a large investment such as this!
  25. I don't see the cover there, is that an interesting angle or are they doing this in stages?
