  1. OMG I was laughing so hard when I read that... I feel like such a horrible person. But seriously
  2. Heck yes they should. Support the US where tourism is cheap as chips. You can fly to the US for less now and even stay in all sorts of places for less than you probably would in europe. Who knows in a few years you will be able to wipe your nose with our currency... Yep I see good things in store for the dollar... :?
  3. The whole selling a prototype seems to be fairly typical business at Vekoma these days. First was the Stealth at PGA (now the Borg at Carowinds) which was determined to have too low a capacity because of slow load and unload times so most future versions had a dual loading station. Second was the Giant Inverted Boomerangs which became the Deja Vu's (no sure on the ride names. Third I believe the Booster Bikes were sold as a production prototype to Toverland. I believe the tilt coaster is also being shopped in the same way. I honestly wouldn't want to be the first with a tilt coaster either... Can you imagine all that could go wrong on that... Remember though that most companies don't build full prototypes ever. There are often problems when the first ride goes into service. Arrow has some classics that were pulled out because they didn't work. Intamin built the Xcellerator as a prototype as far as I know. So it isn't limited. I think B&M has some that are technically prototypes too. But realistically their main vehicles haven't changed much nor has their track.
  4. I know this sounds sick and all but you remember those marble coaster executive toy things... Well what is someone made a hamster ball coaster... I mean you sit in a giant ball with the seating weighted to stay near the bottom then you just kinda roll down some crazy layout... I know it is completely impractical but hey it would be kinda neat. (Plus elissa would hate it because it could spin... I kiiid I kiiid)
  5. Can someone tell me whats up with that speedlimit sign? I mean seriously 37 1/2 mph? Probably some pop culture reference or something that went straight over my head... Wouldn't be the first time...
  6. I've never really done a trip like that so I really have no idea what the sort of costs would be involved are. Would it be your typical ideal of a couple parks a day or a typical persons 1 park a day? I guess if I am interested should I just submit the survey without the cash amounts? I would love to do that sort of trip as I really want to try some of the crazier coasters even around the US and really have little skill in planning myself.
  7. Not for sale what that says is contact with iTunes from the affiliate link... IE the person must buy the song within 24 hours of being linked to it from the link on the affiliates site. Not that they can't get money from someone that has already got iTunes. A “Session” is either (a) a period of 24 hours from the time of a Customer’s initial contact with iTunes via a link from the Affiliate’s site or the Engagement expires or is terminated or So they just need to actually purchase within 24 hours or before closing link to the store it sounds like. Not too bad IMHO. BTW I like to own my music memphish
  8. Ok now this is serious... How many people have played Silent Hill? Seriously they could so set a Silent Hill in that park and it would be damn freaky... Remember Silent Hill 3. Hell Konami should buy the park. Make it like theming. Get all the geeks there. Great stuff though. Super Ghetto.
  9. If you don't mind can I ask what scares you? I mean it would be easy enough to post the links even without doing the affiliate program. Say you wanted to go to the Green Day Single "Holiday" you would simply use the link: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=56752016&selectedItemId=56752023 Yes it was on the front page and I am lazy...
  10. Looks like a nice day. Super empty days are always the best.
  11. Now I know that it would only work for the US version of the store but it would be great for those of us that aren't up on the music scene but enjoy the music in your videos. Plus it could mean a bit more money for the site and for trips. Seems like a win win to me. If there are any issues I guess I don't see them. http://www.apple.com/itunes/affiliates/ has the details. iTunes is the most popular online music store and it has the best selection so it is kinda a natural choice in that way too. Well tell me what you think. Actually looking at the terms there might be some issues but I don't really know enough about the legal stuff.
  12. Yep you guys got screamscaped... lol... Well if you get any plans going in CO that would be cool. We are just right smack dab in the middle of the empty area of the country. Granted we have some stuff to do but it is a hell of a long way to anything else.
  13. LOL... Of course he is fake... But Viginia there is a Mr.Six...
  14. I love around the six minute mark the ride with Mr. Six happens... Guys just looks freaky...
  15. What no mention of the Holy Handgrenade?
  16. Well I dunno if you have been on the vekoma hell that is the boomerang here in CO. Now granted I may be a bit biased because my knees are physically crused by the seat in front of me and the restraints don't really fit me but seriously... I mean how does the ride manage to jar you 3 times on the chain lift? I swear that I can't imagine how a TOGO ride would be any worse.
  17. Truth be told this would make impromptu gatherings at parks easier... Either that or maybe make a sign to print out... I mean just make a sign people can print out on a inkjet or something then carry to the entrance to meet with others then they can just throw it away upon entrance. I think a T-Shirt would need to have a TPR someplace on the shirt. Robb how hard would it be to setup some sort of contest and just make sure someplace on the shirt in fairly large lettering they have TPR and themeparkreview.com. I mean couldn't you just put the stuff on cafepress? Extra income potential there...
  18. OMG does that thing go over a cliff or something? Can you imagine going over something like that in a dive loop. It would be insane. That original post ride looks amazing. I bet they could actually fit that in Elitches... We so need some crazy rides... It would make the park seem slightly less depressing.
  19. I honestly doubt that they are pulled down period. It would be hard to control comparitively. But the ride does accelerate you faster than gravity would. I guess honestly it is really hard for me to even guess how they did it as the ToT rides are one of the most unique drop rides anywhere. No other drop ride accelerates you as far as I know. (Although I guess technically that doesn't make it a drop ride but more of a fall ride or something... But it really doesn't fit in the mould of a drop ride as it doesn't simply drop the ride carriage.)
  20. This sounds like you might have a bit of a misconception about how the rides work. There is a damn good reason that launched rides are carefully throttled. Honestly though I won't get into all that. A launch is completely computer controlled and has to be because the amount of things happening in that short span of time is way to much for any human to monitor. The ride ops just push a button and then it is all up to the rides computer. But on the other hand there are times when gravity propelled rides (ie chain lift) run faster. I have found that some run faster when it is hot and humid and wooden coasters I believe run faster in the rain (if they are operating). If I am just completely wrong please correct me.
  21. Can someone link me to this thread? I didn't see it...
  22. Honestly consider that there is almost no way these can flip. They are much larger than the rafts and heavier. The track is also seriously tight so there is no where for it to go. Sadly enough people do dumb things and the park operators have to do something to stop people. Unfortunately this is the price of having to share the parks with the GP.
  23. That video is just such complete and utter crap... There are plenty of games for the Mac. Sure it might not have every game but there are more than enough to keep most people happy. I mean that might have had some truth back in like 1996 when the mac was really having issues but the mac marketshare is larger than ever. There are quite a few companies that keep brining quality ports to the mac and they keep managing to release more titles each year. Ultimately though Mac users don't choose it because of games so a pure gamer isn't going to game on a Mac. Mac users like their OS and will defend it. Of course lets be honest here the PC game market is gradually going the way of the dodo. Consoles are often the lead system now with PC versions of a game simply being ports. If that isn't a bad sign I don't know what is. Oh and Real you must be a graphics whore man... I don't know what PS2 games you have played but many of them rival the X-box games and if you were at all openminded you would see that in a second. Look at things like God of War, Zone of Enders 2, Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3, Final Fantasy X, Champions of Norrath, and the Silent Hill games... I mean seriously if you can say those are ugly you are either blind or you are way to biased to be realistic.
  24. Congrats Elissa on stopping at 666 posts... I still don't understand how some parks can keep getting rid of coasters and call it progress... Yeah talking about BGW.
  25. OMG thats so sick Elissa... I can't believe he didn't do anything. I've never been to a park quite that bad. I dunno but honestly the worst experience I ever had was a ride op pressing me into a restraint me complaining that it was quite painful as they did it and still dispatching... I can tell you that wasn't my favorite ride ever ... Someone need to tell the ride ops the restraints should be snug but not cause physical pain... Stupid inverted vekoma restraints (yep some of them click in just the wrong place for me...) Most of the time if I say something the ride ops are cool enough to release the restraints and try again... Still I've never encountered a protein spill (right term right?) or any of the nasty things that people normally have complaints about.
