  1. Here is the next update: The Wurzburg Fair with Olympia Looping and Beer! This is what TPR will be riding tonight! Theme Park Review rented out Olympia Looping and had 90 minutes of ERT before the Wurzburg fair began. This ride was just fucking amazing. There is absolutely nothing wrong with these restraints. If you complain about these restraints, please go ride a Vekoma SLC or a Pinfari looper and then come talk to me. It's not quite as intense as Edmonton's Mindbender...but OMG it's awesome!!! Red loop!!! Green loop!!! Yellow loop!!! This is porn for Joe. Lift hill enthusiast porn 1. Lift hill enthusiast porn 2: The revenge of the lift hill. The owner of Olympia Looping took us into the track area to take photos and video. "Hello Joe...this right here is Schwarzkopf track...wouldn't you like to have dirty sex with this?" Send the train NOW!!! And yes we shot an amazing HD POV of the ride! Totally awesome. Random Schwarzkopf photo. TPR loves Olympia Looping!!! Well most of us at least...the cool ones do. TPR spent 90 minutes riding Olympia Looping...now it's time to get drunk off our asses. After riding Olympia Looping we did what you do next at a German Fair...DRINK LOTS OF BEER!!! TPR party in the beer tent!!! It's official! TPR drank beers bigger than their heads. Trust me when I say a lot of beer was consumed. "Hi Miles." This was a real German beer tent...kind of like being at Busch Gardens Festhaus, but for real. Lots of beer... And pretzels! The biggest German pretzels I've ever had!!! And the pretzel girl. Wow. HOT!!! KidTums celebrated with some coca-cola. "Cheers KidTums!!!" And then the food showed up... "I have beer and a chunk of dead animal...awesome!" This was just the "Cheese plate!" OMG! Currywurst! Yummy! This is going to be the best Jager bomb. EVAR!!! It was time for the beer tapping ceremony to open the fair. The German Oompa band was there. The mayor of Wurzburg was there to tap the "First keg" of the fair. The fair is officially OPEN! Free beer until the ceremonial first keg is empty! "Whats better than getting more beer? More beer for FREE!!!" Part of the ceremony is to see who in the beer tent can climb the pole and ring the bell. Can Elissa do it? She's made it pretty far up! She's really close! "DAMN YOU POLE!!!" Doug tries the pole... Ben fails!!! Elissa went higher than both of them! Many thanks to Morgan for helping is sort out this day! No German fair is complete without an insanely fast bumper car ride. Totally random fun stuff at the fair... I'm not even sure what this is!!! The more giant German pretzels the better! Lots of random KidTums rides. Before... ...and after. Did we mention that Olympia Looping was awesome? Fish on a stick! When is Knoebel's going to get this? This is a bizarre game where if you shoot the target and get ten points you win a picture of you shooting the target!!! "I won myself! This is the best prize ever!" "Its a picture of me shooting me! And I won it! They gave this to me!" Vegitarians look away NOW! I'm not sure what Psychodelic is... ...but they gave us these wicked, cool acid trip glasses! Psychodlic without the glasses... ...and now with the glasses! "We are soooooo Psychodelic!" "One meeeelion dollars!" "Its a psychodelic love rave!!" Hanno celebrates Holland's win! A couple more beers... ...and a few more rides on Olympia Looping and our night at the Wurzberg fair is complete!
  2. I think that the answer is Balder, but we really do not need another thread about this.
  3. I never heard of an age restriction on any Disney attraction, just height restrictions.
  4. It is the sumemrtime so it will be crowded. Make sure you get to the park before opening. Usually the best time for lack of crowds in a park is the first hour of operation. It has been a few years since I been to Hershey, but I remember that the evenings were a lot less crowded as well.
  5. You cannot bring a camera on any of those coasters in any of the parks you listed. Pretty much the only parks you are allowed to bring a camera on are some of the smaller parks and most of them do not allow cameras anymore.
  6. This summer has been very hot in Florida and I doubt that next week will be any better. While the water will be warmer than normal, I am sure that it will still be refreshing. Make sure you get to the park before opening and head right on over to the double slide that goes through the whale pool. The line for that slide does get very long.
  7. Another one for Leap the Dips.
  8. I can not remember if I mentioned it yet, but this thread is awesome. Keep it up!
  9. ^ The capacity is very good. The loading station works very much like an omnimover loading station (The ride never stops moving) which sort of reminds me of the Haunted Mansion's loading area for some weird reason. While in the loading station the ride vehicle travels from left to right with the benches facing towards the riders. The loading platform is really long so it allows enough time for everyone to get situated on the ride before taking off.
  10. Daniel Radcliffe gave an interview for CNN today. http://www.cnn.com/2010/SHOWBIZ/Movies/06/18/harry.potter.radcliffe/index.html?hpt=Sbin
  11. Wow that is insane. I glad I checked it all out last weekend!
  12. Any idea who was there to open the new land? I had problems with the streaming for a while.
  13. Boy, they really spent a ton of money on that. Pretty impressive for an opening.
  14. Actually the parks were really dead last Sunday. Forbidden Journey did not have a wait longer than 20 minutes at most. Most of all the other rides at IOA were walk-ons. I am sure that will all change in 4 days. At least Forbidden Journey is a very high capacity attraction.
  15. Potter Update Part 2 This is pretty much an overview of the rest of the area. I am glad that all the construction walls are down. I am a huge Dueling Dragons fanboy so I really was not impressed with the new entrance. This is what is used to look like. The new theming really does fit with the whole Goblet of Fire book's theme though. Entrance into the castle. As seen in the second movie. The Goblet of Fire. Triwizard's Tournament Cup. Want to check out the bar? These would be all the beers on tap. Let us see how good you are and guess what they have. I tried Butterbeer. It tastes like cream soda with a little bit of butterscotch and vanilla. Me and my wimpy drink. Noted. This is called theming. I know you wanted to see it. They have two small shows that appear every 30 minutes. All these characters are from the 4th book/movie: The Goblet of Fire. The other show is The Frog Choir Sid Vicious morphed into an Indiana Beach logo. The Three Broomsticks is now open for lunch. It is quick service, and the food is pretty good. No Coke products to be found. I did find the pumpkin juice to be very refreshing. This would be my lunch. These are some of the choices for eating. Three Broomsticks entrance. While kind of cool, the wand presentation is really not worth more than a 5 minute wait. It is just like a scene out of the first book/movie. The Joke shop was unusual I think they only had around 10 different items for sale. Some of the items I could not remember from the books like the strange looking Japanese Robot. Right next door was the sweets/candy store. Ok, I know this one. These are plain evil. The lockers for Dragon's Challenge are located in the train station. How do you do sir? Dork. You can buy Butterbeer outside as well. Many of the shop windows have stuff going on inside. Post Office. Many owls can be found here. Recreation of the ride. I was not sure if it was for sale. Brromsticks for kids sure were though. So do you like this? Or these better? Ok, it is time to go. We now leave you with a picture of the most sought after coaster themed merchandise ever created. Now a collector's item.
  16. I would gather that this update is really three years in the making. If you have lots of extra time be sure to start this thread from page 1. I honestly can not add really much more to what has already been discussed other than I really liked the new area. It should be noted that I am a Harry Potter fan as I have read all the books and seen all the movies so far. The big question that everyone has been asking is, "How does the ride work for people who know nothing about Harry Potter." I would answer that it probably does not work very well at first, but after several rides I think they will be able to follow along. As much as I liked the new ride, and the fact that I know quite a bit about Harry Potter, my very first ride still felt very chaotic as it seemed to try to do too much in its 4 1/2 minute ride time. I simply could not fully comprehend the storyline in how each scene was supposed to flow into one another. However, after multiple rides (and seeing all of the backstory stuff in the queue), the experience really came together for me. I think that you will have to ride it several times before you can really give it a genuine opinion. With that said, I think that the biggest fault about the ride is that the storyline is not as accessible as Spiderman, The Mummy, or countless other fantastic licenced dark rides out there. If someone knows nothing about Harry Potter, their first ride will probably feel like it is a ride with bunch of really cool but disjointed scenes and effects that you get to see while riding in an awesome ride vehicle. It will probably not make a lot of sense. After riding it 6 times during my visit I think that the Forbidden Journey is excellent and I think it is the only dark ride (that is not a coaster or drop tower) in Orlando that comes close to rival Indiana Jones at Disneyland. Yes, it reminds me more of Indiana Jones with a more unique ride vehicle rather the Spiderman. While there are movie/simulator sections of the ride they only last about 1:30 for the total ride time. Everything else is full solid effects and sets. Anyways, I won't bog you down with a bunch of information that you probably already know so let us head on over to the photos. You know you are early to the park when you park your car in King Kong. This would be the recent batch of movies at CityWalk. The open the gates at 9 and we are greeted by a large Harry Potter TV set. I am happy to see the Mythos water effects working again. Current Menu. Yeah, the Harry Potter area is now open to the public and running during park hours. Almost there! Just in case you already forgot what this area used to look like a few years ago. We present to you: Hogsmeade. Otherwise, do not cast any crazy spells in this area. Can you tell where Harry Potter officially begins? Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. The wait time never was more than 20 minutes that day. Yes, they also have an awesome single riders entrance. Yeah, the entrance is quite impressive. This sign will become history on Friday. Let us head on inside. This is what you see if you look backwards from the main entrance. Thia would be the outside section of the queue. I should note that the line always seems to move. I was impressed that the ride is really high capacity. Who let these people into the park? The queue is really amazing for Potter geeks. F.U. LIVES!!! Yes, I failed. The sorting hat reviews the ride's rules before boarding. It will always be F.U. to me. The area around the coaster really looks different now. Especially since there is now a huge castle sitting right next door. You can hear Hagrid and his dog Fang make noises out of his house. Vekoma Wicker Coaster. Yes, the wheelchair seat is still there.
  17. I finally got around to reading your updates Adam and I enjoyed them quite a bit. You really nailed the description of the ride.
  18. Holiday World's Twitter account also confirms this. What sad and shocking news indeed.
  19. ^ Do you like Cream Soda? If you do, you will like Butterbeer.
  20. For the record I was frowning at the new Dueling/Dragon's Challenge entrance. Just in case you forgot what the original entrance looked like. This is the New entrance. It should be noted that the ride is still awesome.
  21. ^ Do you think it will actually soft open this Sunday?
  22. It honestly looks like you are simply way too worried about riding these coasters in that you keep asking the same questions over and over again. If you are that worried about them, it would be recommended that you do not ride them. Pretty much all of the B&M coasters in Florida have a reputation of being some of the most intense coasters that B&M has built. If you struggled with Batman, which is quite intense, I would suggest that you probably are not ready to ride these coasters.
  23. That was fun, though Barnstormer is actually Soren's first Florida credit. He had been to Disneyland once before.
  24. I love this park. Thanks for posting this.
