  1. We hit our 2nd park on our vacation Monday and Tuesday, (the first being BGT). The last two days we have been at Paramount's Carowinds. Tomorrow we shall be hitting Six Flags Over Georgia. Yes we have been taking a bunch of pictures that we will post early next week once we get back.
  2. We are going to ride Acrophobia at SFOG for the first time tommorrow...I hope its working.
  3. Sheikra was really neat at night. I finally got to ride it on the front row as well. The second drop into the mist tunnel was very very dark. Highly recommended to ride this coaster at night.
  4. Thanks for the great TR. You have some nice pictures there.
  5. I live in Gainesville, Florida which is just two hours of Walt Disney World, Busch Gardens Tampa, and Universal/IOA. Wild Adventures is about 2 hours north of me in Valdosta Georgia. All I know is that Universal/IOA is exactly 114 miles from my doorstep which takes me about an hour and 45 mins to drive to.
  6. Hey everybody! This thread is simple! Rather than having a million little threads about everything that goes on at Ocean Park, this thread is designed to consolidate it all into one user-friendly thread. Feel free to use it to post updates, trip reports, questions, comments, and of course, general discussion. For pictures and videos of the park as well as past updates, see TPR's Park Index Page. Official Park Website Below are some links to past updates from the park, you may be interested in. While I was not able to go to Ocean Park, I was able to take these two pictures of the cable ride as I was driving by. I hope with Robb's upcoming trip he will take many more pictures for us to enjoy. Check out the cable cars on the mountain. Also the park's seahorse logo is on the right side of the mountain. While its hard to see, check out the leftside of the picture. Those cable cars go a long way.
  7. I found some older pictures of Taiwan's Windows On China park. The Chinese name means, "Little Person Country". The park mostly consists of miniature recreations of the world's most famous landmarks. They also have several rides such as a tidal wave, dark rides, an a small indoor roller coaster. This is near Windows On China, its the real Shihmen dam near Longtan Taiwan. Notice the small park on the left hand side..Yes there is a coaster credit there. Recreation of Taiwan's Shihmen dam. This is a recreation of Taiwan's Capital building...notice the tanks on a treadmill. People Watching the tidal wave ride. The Tidal Wave ride! You can see the United States in under 20 minutes at this park.
  8. Wow! What a great TR, thank you for spending the time posting this so all us readers can enjoy SFMM on our computer screens.
  9. Any coasters at either Carowinds or Six Flags Over GA that must be ridden at night?
  10. I really like Panera Bread as well....We just got one in Gainesville Florida about 8 months ago (where the Lone Star used to be before it burned down). I used to have to go to Orlando to eat at Panera's. btw...I always thought Krystal's was a White Castle rip-off. Did White Castle come first? My favorite fast food: Panera Bread My least favorite fast food: Captain D's (Makes Long John Silvers look like Panera) I got so sick.
  11. They had a 30th anniversary tour last year. It was very cool, I got to see them in Tampa. They played the entire 2112....I love that one...as well as YYZ.
  12. Thanks for all the TR info and tips. We are going to try to do our first TR after our trip next week.
  13. Plus if you have a Preferred pass, you get free parking. USF parking is $9!!! Can't forget discounts at Mythos as well
  14. Hello, my name is Erik Johnson and I am a Gainesville Florida native. (Go Gators!) Anyways at the age of 32 I have recently become a fan of roller coasters thanks to my good wife Leanne. While I did ride Space Mountain many times over the years, I did not like the more intense coasters due to a bad experince on BGT's Scorpion when I was much younger. (Its still a good intense Schwarzkoff coaster). Anyways this year my wife convinced me to give Rock n Roller Coaster a whirl at Disney/MGM. Now I am hooked. I have to admit that I am grateful that I live within 2 hours of some really great parks. This is a real new hobby for me...and you know how that can be. Well I can't give my Wife full credit for getting me to try the bigger coasters. I have to admit it was her, as well as watching Robb's videos (Those really look fun!) and "riding" the coasters in RC Tycoon 3.
  15. I remember my friend's little sister had a Teddy Ruxpin. Things got interesting when we put in an Eddie Murphy tape.....
  16. What about the new Zelda game....I love Zelda games...I have them all except the ones for the old Philips CD-I system. Boy those were bad.
  17. Cool, I had no idea about the Sonic Gems collection coming out. I do have the Mega Sonic Collection for my Gamecube. Robb worked on the Aladdin game? You posted PC beside it...did he do the Sega Genesis one as well?
  18. ^ Must live in California or Florida. < Batman IMAX was very cool V Really likes Monkeys
  19. The sytems that I own or owned (yes they were new when I bought em) and two of my favorite games for each system. 1. Coleco Telstar II (Well it only has 4 games...but I guess Hockey and Tennis) 2. Atari 2600/Sears Telegames Edition (Adventure and Yar's Revenge (Got em on Xbox too)) 3. Commodore 64 (Mule and Archon--very early EA game)--does not work anymore 4. Nintendo 8-bit (The Legend of Zelda and Castlevania) 5. Sega Genesis (Herzog Zwei and Aladdin--Cool animation on that one) 6. Sega CD (Night Trap! (but for serious) Sonic CD and Ecco the Dolphin (still has the best game music)) 7. Super Nintendo (Legend of Zelda--Link to the Past (my favorite game) and Super Metroid)) 8. Gameboy (Tetris and Dr. Mario) 9. Sega Dreamcast (Panzer Dragoon 2 and Panzer Dragoon Saga) kicking myself for trading in this one. 10. Playstation 1 (Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Chrono Cross) 11. PC (Doom and Sim City) 12. Neo Geo CD/Z (Pulstar and Metal Slug 1) (of all the old systems I play this one the most) 13. Arcade (Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Discs of Tron and Bezerk ("Intruder Alert!) ok thats 3...heh I figured that is far enough since this is a "Older Video Games" thread Erik "What ever happened to the K.C. Munchkin character?" Johnson
  20. Hey is that a Crazy Climber machine you got there Robb? "Go For It!" Stupid flowerpots, stupid King Kong and stupid windows. Burgertime had one of the best commericals when the home version came out. It featured the chef being chased around by hotdogs in his kitchen.
  21. Yeah....I would ride that coaster...unless its real ash from the volcano.
  22. Elissa says, "florida resident, coupons, annual pass, all kinds of discounts!" Hooray for the annual pass discounts (I saved $2.39 at Mythos). They usually have coupons on Coca-Cola as well for those who are not annual pass holders. What time during the day do they start and end the Halloween stuff? Anyone going to do Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween or Hall-O-Scream at BGT?
