I still have my copy of the Smurfs Atari 2600 game...which has even worse graphics than the Colecovision. Hooray 4K games. Colecovision was amazing in its day....

Erik Johnson replied to Erik Johnson's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well I did have fun heh heh heh. You guys should have come the crowds were light that day at IOA. -
Great photo trip. Most of the pictures were from angles I have never seen before. Alton Towers looks quite nice.

Coasters at Night
Erik Johnson replied to Erik Johnson's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah Big Thunder and Splash Mt. are great at night. I really like the Montu at Busch Gardens Tampa at night. The tunnels are pitch black (other than the on-line photo camera blinding you for a sec in the first tunnel.) -

Wow what a great TR. Thanks for spending the time and energy on this. I really liked the close ups of both the golden ears and the cupcakes. -
I really enjoyed riding the Hulk at night. Islands of Adventure was open until 10:00PM on 7-17-05 and I was finally able to ride this coaster at night instead of the usual dusk. WOW! the tunnel with the launch was very cool with all of the fancy light work. There were also some neat strobe lights as the coaster went around the 2nd 360 inversion. I thought it was the on ride photo going off but we were the only car in the back half of the track. The Hulk is great during the daytime, but I was really impressed riding it at night. Also seeing the firework show upside down was kinda neat. Doom's Fearfall was also a real treat at night as well....again really neat lighting. I wish that Universal stayed open longer at night...10:00PM is still too early to close during the summer.

Maybe we can get a group togther of some of us Florida people. I think Novemeber is a wonderful time to go to Florida....The weather is much nicer, the parks are less crowded, and you do not have to worry about the daily afternoon thunderstorms.

Oh yes...I only liked smaller roller coasters until I got married. My wife now got me hooked on ALL roller coasters.

Yeah Im not a big fan of Animal Kingdom either. Lucky the one and only time I have been was with our annual passes. Its a nice park, there just is not very much to do....especially for a full day. It is true I have yet to do the Safari (fast passes were out...and it was a 60min wait), but we did just about everything else (including most of the shows) in less than a half day. The Everest coaster looks very neat though....I bet in another 5-10 years..Animal Kingdom will be a great park. Like someone said, MGM was not the best the first few years it was opened..but now I really like it (other than the new version of the animation studio). While I have not been to DCA, it looks like a park which has been there already over ten years with all the things to do (just like Islands of Adventure).

Serpent when I was 5 years old. Astroworld in 1978. -
it looks like a really nice park. I like parks that are in the woods. Is this one the highest rated flyers? Im going to try my first flyers at Carowinds soon.

Anyone up for a meet to either Busch Gardens Tampa or Islands of Adventure on Sunday?

I was wondering which roller coaster has the fastest loading crew. The fastest I have seen is Rock n Rollercoaster at Disney/MGM in Orlando. They seem to get people secured and rolling around the bend in around 20-30 seconds.

Yep I bet she was dehydrated. I got somewhat dehydrated while at Cypress Gardens (it was a very very hot day) and the Ferris Wheel made me kinda sick. I should know better since I live in Florida. Of course the ride will be blamed for the girl's sickness. I know the warnings on Mission Space says that riders need to make sure they are not overheated...and to drink plenty of fluids before you ride. I have yet to ride DCA's ToT yet? Is it that bad?

Halloween Horror Nights 2005
Erik Johnson replied to jarmor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah Fear Factor is pretty fun to watch at Universal. I bet they will have a Halloween version of the attraction if they decide to use both parks again this year. If you ever want to participate they pick contestants I believe 90mins beofre the show. The main contestants actually dont get to eat the yucky stuff, they pick families out of the audience to do that.... I would never want to particiapte myself I have to admit. I can hear people saying, "I drank a sour milk grasshopper shake and all I got was a stupid T-Shirt." -
Qbot for SFOG
Erik Johnson replied to Erik Johnson's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah I figured, if they are open, we will do Acrophobia and Deja-Vu first thing since I understand the lines can go very slowly on these two rides. Yeah Acrophobia looks like a really cool drop tower. I may go ahead and get a Q-bot then...at least it will let me know if and when Deja-Vu is running. Carowinds and SFOG here we come. -
I will be going to Six Flag Over Georgia on 7-27-05...which is a Wedesday. Do you think I need to get a Qbot?
