You have to love the "experts" that post on these forums! lol It's pretty cool they gave a really good explanation of what caused the delay. -
That reminds me of a situation at the Brookfield Zoo in the Chicago suburbs I saw about a month ago. Picture this....a big statue of a kangaroo where kids can crawl in the pouch on the front. This statue is surrounded by a bunch of kids playing and their parents standing nearby. Out of nowhere, a frustrated mother comes storming towards the statue and at the top of her lungs yells "I AM GOING TO BEAT YOUR ASS!!!!". Now, I never did see her actually beat her kid, but yelling that at the top of her lungs in a public place surrounded by children? Classy.

Where did you read that? Can't seem to find that quote. It was more or less about the people on there thinking in the back of their head if they are safe or not. Of course they are! Some rides though are .01% safer than others! -

Wow Terrible! ...and Twilight of all things?? Ok, so I know I wasn't the only person who saw Jacob and thought of Lost! Anyone? Anyone? In one way you have to love how stupid people are. It just makes YOU seem so much smarter! Like seriously, I did not take enough school to seem as smart as I do! lol -

I love the guy who said he pretty much fears getting on Intamin rides. Hilarious. I even left a comment on that. If you are afraid of their rides, you must be scared to set foot outside your foam rubber coated home. -

Top / Best Amusement Park (s)
AndCamSS replied to bodombeast's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Gee..tough one because I have to group all the resort parks together which may be cheating lol. After the top 3 it's hard for me to order them... 1. Walt Disney World 2. Universal Orlando 3. Cedar Point Others... Disneyland Resort Busch Gardens Williamsburg Knoebels Kennywood Holiday World Six Flags over Georgia Six Flags Great Adventure Hersheypark Silver Dollar City Six Flags Great America Dollywood ...see I cant pick! lol -
Wow I didn't realize I had been on all of them! Not as surprising as actually getting on all 3 Deja Vus though! lol Riddler is easily my favorite, followed by Scorcher. Hmm maybe I'll put these in order... 1. Riddler's Revenge 2. Georgia Scorcher 3. Chang 4. Mantis 5. Vortex (Caro) 6. Iron Wolf 7. Vortex (CGA) Those last 3...depends if you catch it on a good day or not.

Back to the Future (makes up for the old one!) Intamin launched coaster. Ride trains have the front and back end of the Delorean on the train. The station area is themed to Hill Valley 1985. Launch between scenes from the different years shown in the movies (1985, 1955, 2015, and 1885) each "room" features a different layout. Launch obviously doesn't go to 88mph each time, but launches in tunnels with traveling lights, etc to make it seem faster. Ends with potential collision with an oncoming train, only to duck underneath it at the last second. Pretty vague description but there are tons of ideas that could be used. I wish there was a GOOD BTTF ride!!

Bars & Stuff to do around Holiday World
AndCamSS replied to mcvays99's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
A teenager giving advice where to drink? That can't be good! lol Santa's Lodge has a **TINY** bar down in the restaurant area on the lower level that we have gone to before. Prices aren't bad and the weird lady working there was...interesting. It isn't a place to party, but I thought I would mention it if you wanna get a drink across the street from the park. -

Yeah, it was real rare to see Voyage run 3 trains. I am not sure the last time I saw it, but I am thinking it was during opening year in 2006. I would think if long lines became an issue at some point they could buy a 3rd train but there really has not been a need for it at this point. I have been to Holiday World on a weekend in July before and the line was still only 15-30 minutes, and that was with the less efficient PTCs. -

Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

Use Priceline! The Kings Island area is the place I am most successful finding places to stay. If you don't mind driving up to 10 miles to the park you can find some great deals. This past weekend I stayed at a Fairfield Inn that had comfy beds, free internet, indoor pool, and free breakfast with several choices including hot (by microwave) breakfast sandwiches for $34 a night. I bid the $34 on a 2.5 star or higher hotel in the Sharonville area. I always find places between $25-40 this way and have not had a bad place over there yet. Just do not bid below 2 stars! The regular price for the Fairfield was $90-100! Hope this helps! -

This looks pretty sweet so far! I have to agree with Elissa, this could be a sleeper hit as there isn't much talk going on about it so far. Hopefully i'll get out there sometime later this year to try it out! -

I dont think anyone here is a qualified ride repairman who works on these rides to answer that question, and even if they were there are just a couple pictures to look at anyway. I'll say.... 86.459 hours of work, thats my guess. -

^ because they dont build that type? May as well ask why any other coaster manufacturer doesnt make wood coasters. They sure don't make a good wood coaster train! lol -

This is reminding me of the accident on Demon at SFGAm way back in 1997? Of course im only basing that on these two not so great photos. It also reminds me a little bit of the Wild Thing accident at Valleyfair with the car leaning over to the side. -

Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
AndCamSS replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Agreed. I have always thought Kings Island was a nice park but it needed a really good ride. It seemed like Paramount kept trying to come out with cutting edge rides than putting in something that will for sure please the majority and be popular. FINALLY Diamondback got added and gave them that ride. I always thought the park could use an Invert, and I still think that would be another good addition. I am one of the people that like the Beast a lot but it was not enough to make me want to visit multiple times. -
^Yeah. I dont even think Holiday World would throw down that amount of money let alone a tiny place like Beech Bend. It was surprising enough to see a park like that add a GCI. One of these would have been fitting for a place like Hersheypark, seeing as though they have added smallish versions of bigger coasters like Storm Runner and Fahrenheit. After putting both those in I would doubt you would see one there now but you never know.
