Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

Hey! Maybe you can see the KI Windseeker from the CP Windseeker! Kidding of course, just poking fun at how close together these two are! -

Im really hoping that if the Texas Giant conversion is a success they will do the same thing to Mean Streak since it is such a similar ride. How much everyone disliked going to that area of the park until then would then be just a distant memory. -

The only question is where in the park will they put it? I'll take a wild guess and say it goes where the Paramount walk thing was at or in the Coney Mall somewhere. -

I really want to go back to BGW soon! Hopefully a stop there and to KD will be in the works next year. BTW, I died laughing at the facebook update for KD. How about posting the "I305 is still as good with the trims so F U!" to everyones site? I love making fun of the nitpickers! Although I guess there were quite a few people complaining about the Raging Bull trim STILL to the park on TPR day as I heard from my friend that is a supervisor at the park. Come on! Don't complain to the park about junk like that! They dont care and it makes you look ridiculous! -

So what was better? Prowler at night or Thunderhead in the rain? I still have yet to ride either of these at night, might get to WoF one more time and have a chance to do it! -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
AndCamSS replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Agreed. Im getting a kick out of people overanalyzing everything (moreso on some CP sites). Cedar Point must be laughing their asses off at the speculation that goes on when they do this. So far each clue points at the Star Flyer type ride yet many just want to talk it into being something else much like last year with StR. Unscrambled "airtime"- This is a good clue to fool people into thinking its a coaster because the star flyer doesn't have "airtime". Instead it spends time in the air. Windmill- Look at one of these rides from the top. They spin and have the look of a windmill. Dinosaur- Could be two things, both that its tall and the "saur" for "soar" -
What GCI coaster has the most airtime?
AndCamSS replied to Montuman99's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Of the ones I have been on.... Roar East, Roar West, Prowler, Thunderhead, Kentucky Rumbler, Gwazi, Lightning Racer, Wildcat, Ozark Wildcat, and Evel Knievel...I would have to go with Prowler (front of the train) to have the most. Thunderhead has been my favorite of the GCIs but I havent been on it in 4 years to compare. Evel Knievel was surprisingly good and Ky Rumbler was the one I didn't get what the fuss was about. Anyway, the question was about airtime and i'll give it to Prowler. -
Best and Lamest Coaster "Ending"

What airtime hill?? LOL I like Beast a lot but the closest thing to an air hill on it is the 2nd drop in the back of the train. -

Look! It even made the paper! http://dailyherald.com/story/?id=400921 Any time people write comments I feel dumber for having read them. Most of them are talking about how Cedar Point is better and how they like "Magnum Force". -

Hope everyone has a great time at SFGAm today. Its going to be *HOT and HUMID* perfect day for the water park! I wanted to get out there for the event but this is one of the extremely rare days I can not take off because my backup at work is on vacation and I already asked off the last day of his vacation to run out and ride Ravine Flyer II again! lol -

I've heard this so often and don't understand it. Why does a park need to have a woodie to be "complete?" Some of the best parks in the world don't have wooden coasters: Europa Park, Silver Dollar City, Alton Towers, Epcot, etc... Sure it would be a great addition, but I don't think it's mandatory for a park to have a woodie. Sometimes I wonder if those who say this have actually been to the park before. It certainly doesn't need one to be complete...would be cool but not necessary. -

Cedar Point Navigation Advice
AndCamSS replied to jslim39's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Park in the Soak City lot and enter the park through the Magnum gate. Go to Dragster first (if its open on time) otherwise go to Maverick. Maverick will have a line due to the early entry, but it is not going to get any shorter more than likely. Also during this time there will be no line for Magmum or Gemini (though it will more than likely only be running one side). Millennium Force is also another good option to go to first, also coming in through the Magnum gate. Hold off on Raptor til later in the day when the line goes down since EVERYONE goes to that first. Those are my tips! I NEVER park in the front lot anymore, LOVE that back lot! -
Theme park Passes Thread
AndCamSS replied to the ghost's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Six Flags Great America Pass Kings Island Platinum Pass Universal Orlando Annual Pass (got from a friend) Sea World Orlando Annual Pass (got from a friend) I usually stick with just the SF and CF pass. I used to have a USF/IoA pass and BGT/SWO pass I paid monthly for but I dont go enough to make it worth it, especially with hookups to get in free! -
Well there is your reason for a crummy ride right there. Occasionally I will ride the "ejector seat" but it is brutal. Also, no matter what seat you sit in you must hold the bar the entire ride to prevent it from falling all the way down and stapling you completely to the seat. If you like riding with your hands up I dont know what to tell you. I got over doing that years ago (except on a ride like Dragster) because it does nothing for me except tire my arms out. I usually ride the front of the back car (3rd from the last row) this way you are not sitting on the wheels and get a smoother ride. The bunny hills at the end still give you the ejector air, just not quite as much as the front of the train does. However, you will get a more enjoyable ride back there IMO. My first ride ever on Magnum was 1.3 as well, and I couldn't believe the ride wasn't near as good as I thought it would be back then. After riding it 10 years now, it is a favorite when I visit thanks to the back car and knowing how to ride it. Those lap bars can KILL if they fall down as far as possible!

Michigan's Adventure PTR 6/24/2010
AndCamSS replied to angryemobeaver's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Wow I am surprised everyone thinks it was smooth! I didn't see Thunderhawk as being much smoother than other ones I have been on (except for T2). The smoothest one ever, I think, is Hangman at Wild Adventures. I could not believe the smoothness of that one! At Timbersfest, we rode Thunderhawk once in the front during ert and once near the back during the day and that was enough. Wolverine Wildcat, however, was running better than ever before! I believe we rode it 4-6 times and we were the dorks in the front of the back car that made the "Woo!" sound on every drop! (Mocking the Simpsons episode that shows the out of town coaster weirdos)
