I made the 12th to the last picture! Guy with his hand in front of his face in the 2nd row on Timbers! lol I have no idea how many times we got on Timbers but it was great! That ride is running better than it has in years! -

I can't stop thinking about that "Goodnight Mom, Goodnight Will" message that plays when the park closes. -

What Kara says is exactly what I was thinking. Thoughts are with the Koch family today. I can not believe this and the fact that HWN was just a week ago and I saw him walking around all over the 2 parks with a big smile on his face. What a horrible loss to the amusement industry. -
Midwest Bash at Six Flags Great America

If this happens it would be my first TPR event (I dont count the 2005 trip as one). Voted yes! Would be funny to go on a backstage tour of everything I walked through almost everyday from 2001-2004. In fact, I would probably be made fun of! lol -
WOW! Was that a crazy ending! It is going to be chaos downtown tomorrow for the parade and rally. I will be there...somewhere in the mass crowd! What a great group of guys this team has. If you saw videos and interviews with them throughout the season it is no wonder they could win it all. A great close group of guys that stick together and have fun with one another. The mario kart tourney is awesome! Each week one of the local radio stations talks to Patrick Sharp and its always fun to listen to. In case anyone was wondering, he played as Donkey Kong because Yoshi just wasn't doing it for him anymore.

^Although there was no lightning, the lightning bugs/fireflies that were everywhere made for a cool effect. It kind of reminded me of Space Mountain! Legend was running great, faster than it has in at least a few years and it wasn't bad in the wheel seats either! Wildebeest was awesome, I also noticed more air on my first ride (with the least amount of weight in the raft) than the last 2 rides. The front was good for me because I had sunglasses on to shield the water spraying in my face! -
That was one hell of a game! I won't be able to see game 4 because of HWN (unless I drive a long distance to some dive bar!) so if the Hawks win the cup I am glad it is not a sweep and I don't have to watch at a place like that and can do it back in Chicago. If they don't win it however, I wish we had won last nights game! Philly is a tough team and this has been a hell of a series so far!

Does your home park lose its luster?
AndCamSS replied to jamesdillaman's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Amen to that! Sure SFGAm isnt as good to me as before but if you live in an area like this where there is a cold winter and a whole big chunk out of the year that everything is closed, you cant take for granted the time you do have to go. Of course, you can go down to Florida in the winter when you live here but that is more difficult than basically driving up the road to the local park. -
^He fits in well with Philly.

We used to use the ticket system at SFGAm when I worked there, mainly on crowded days. At Raging Bull for example, one person would stand at the entrance and hand the tickets out and the flash pass person would collect them. If the numbers were within 10 or so of each other it was fine, but if someone was way off or didn't have a ticket, they would exit the line at the flash pass entrance. I heard all sorts of excuses, some of which I replied to "Do you not have any idea what the ticket in your hand is for? It says right on the back!". The system worked rather well and the only downside was the ticked off line jumpers being forced to leave. Some didn't want to leave so I would pick up the phone at that entrance and say "Leave the line now or I will call security down here and you will have to leave the park" this would make them leave usually and they would stomp off and give me a dirty look. I would usually wave and smile when they did such things. Little did they know that phone can only call the station or other parts of the ride not security!

I think people might see the difference between Iron Wolf and Chang seeing as they will both be there at the same time and one is much larger than the other. At the same time they may not like Iron Wolf and see that you also stand up on this one and make the connection. I guess we will just have to see but it sure is screwy. I do know that Chang is one of the smoother of the stand ups and that the most similar ride to it (Mantis) still can have some long lines on crowded days. Just whatever they do, don't paint it blue and white or else people might think we brought back Shockwave (because they both were big and had inversions) like the SFMM people think Terminator is Psyclone! As for Iron Wolf, nothing has been said about any changes to, or removal of, Iron Wolf. I did know ahead of time that Chang was going to stay a stand up and I was hoping that would turn out wrong as a floorless conversion would have been cool!

Mine doesnt take out THAT many more parking spots than the planned one does. Regular spots yes, but the other takes out the front row of disability parking and some regular spots. Plus we dont know how many extras besides the ones the coaster is on top of will be lost as well. I highly doubt you will be able to park RIGHT up against it! lol I also heard a rumor about getting a 3rd train which to me seems like a waste since it takes so long to load stand ups correctly. Hell, even CP doesnt run 3 trains on Mantis! It would be cool if the trains could get audio treatment like the Bizarro coasters have.

Iron Wolf is in a landscaped area with trees and shrubs. I would say that is MUCH better than the field Chang once sat in. Hopefully they will put in some trees and stuff when it gets put in at SFGAm similar to what they did by SUF and it doesnt end up a parking lot coaster. Believe it or not, Iron Wolf used to be glass smooth. Up until the mid to late 90s it was smooth. It really got bad when they added the yellow harnesses. Before that it had the original ones which were wider across and had more head room. I really think it would be much better with the newer style trains than the clunkers that are on there now with the retrofitted OTSRs.
