  1. How I would rank the ones I have been on..... 1. Big Bad Wolf 2. Ninja 3. Top Gun/Flight Deck @ KI 4. Iron Dragon Big Bad Wolf was easily the best one, its too bad it went before ones lesser than it.
  2. So it comes down to this... The Flyers who haven't been since 97 and haven't won since 75. They only made it to the playoffs thanks to a shootout win, and had a huge comeback from a 3-0 deficit in both games and the score of the 7th game of the series. Stunning! The Blackhawks have not been since 92 and haven't won since 61, the longest drought in the NHL. The 92 team was up against an experienced Penguins team that had won the year before, but this is not the case this season. They have won 7 straight road games in the playoffs, and all but 1 team (I believe) that have done this have gone on to win the cup. About 3 years ago, this franchise was in the dumps, among the worst in sports. After the terrible owner of the team (Dollar) Bill Wirtz died, his son took over and turned it all around. It is amazing how much things have turned in such a short time. It is awesome to have hockey back in Chicago. The Hawks are clearly the better team. This doesn't mean that you are going to win (just look at the Capitals early exit) but they are the team that should win. Even though the Hawks record and play has been better, you can't look past what the Flyers have done. They will not go down easy. If they do, I will be even more shocked then the Sharks getting swept. If the Flyers win, it will go down as a "fairy tale" ending. Hawks in 6. Whatever happens I hope neither team sweeps since I cant watch game 4 as it falls on the first day of Holiwood Nights and I doubt any TVs in that area broadcast Versus!
  3. Well...I hope this silences those who didn't think we were going to get Chang! lol
  4. I havent been on I305 yet but I have the feeling it would not have lost that spot anyway even if it was better than Bizarro. Too many complaining about the OTSRs for it to make #1.
  5. Since I cant see the video here at work, is anything mentioned about the Raven being one car shorter than the Voyage train?
  6. The majority of the GP, most likely, won't even know it was delayed once it's open on a regular basis. Considering that a bunch of people always ask "Does this ride go upside down?" when getting on something I HARDLY believe they are going to know about some kind of reputation and appeal.
  7. Magnum at CP on Sunday Afternoon. I swear the more the hype wore off the ride the more I have liked it!
  8. I finally did a Skycoaster alone last year 10 years after my first time on one and it was definitely an entirely different experience! Everything seemed better solo except for not getting to share the fun with anyone else!
  9. ^LOL! I was going to say "Who cares?" but "So what?" also works They sell bumper stickers that have a phrase to live by on them... "***t Happens."
  10. ^People also like to attack the big guy (this being CP) and big corporations. It is, in fact, not fair. There is no more reason to say things about the STR delay. There are much more important things to worry about than a 2 week delay on a water ride. I guess people just like to complain a lot.
  11. I doubt it will because too many with complain about the OTSRs even though it may not make that big of a difference. Top 10? Maybe. Hope I get to ride it this summer!
  12. You know Holiday World is doing everything possible to get those trains up and running. If they aren't ready for HWN, they did their best. If you were not at HWN last year, the Legend blew the lift motor (or something like that) and Pilgrim's Plunge needed a part from overseas. The parts were personally driven to the park for Legend to get it up for the event, and the Plunge parts were sent express and picked up from wherever UPS delivers to so they could get that ride up before the weekend was over. What other park goes through all that kind of trouble for an event? There are always a few bad eggs in every group that will complain no matter what. Lets hope that number is to a minimum at HWN if the TL's aren't running yet.
  13. Wow I was there on opening day and didnt see how bad Corkscrew was! Crazy! I also do have to say, my wait for MF was probably the longest wait I have had for it since about 2001. All but one of the queue blocks was full. Maverick was having all sorts of problems and went down 3 times while I was in line Saturday morning, and twice while I was in line Sunday morning. Hope they get it all straightened out soon! I rode Gemini on Saturday when the line was out to the midway. They only had one switchback open and it took 10 mins to get on. That was pretty much the only short line I waited in that day for a coaster!
  14. No, you think that it didn't make a difference who owned the park, and I know for a fact that the people do care because they pretty much hated six flags the last few years of their operation. Now they're very busy. Darien Lake is located in an area with a relatively small population and an overabundance of theme parks. Its two primary markets each have their own decent sized parks in addition to the fact that there are others within an easy drive. Buffalo is within a day's drive of Sea Breeze, Marineland, Darien Lake, Wonderland, Cedar Point, Kennywood, Ontario Place, Center Island Park, and Conneaut Lake. Compare that to Chicago with a population more than four times what Buffalo and Rochester combined have- and they really only have one or two parks which are truly within a day's drive. So the park may well be doing better than it has, but it really has little to do with the parent company over the park. The park's staff is still the same year-to-year and there are still members of park management that were working there back when I last worked there in 1996. Just in case you were not aware, I thought it odd you included CP as "within a days drive" to Buffalo but not Chicago, where they locally sell tickets and have big ads for them in Meijer stores. Here are some approx. times I drive to get to parks from the Chicago area. Just thought I would let you know for future reference. SFGAm- 1 hour Indiana Beach- 2-2.5 hrs Wis Dells- 3-3.5 hrs Michigans Adventure- 3-3.5hrs Six Flags St. Louis- 5 hrs Cedar Point- 5.5 hrs Kings Island- 5.5 hrs Adventureland- 5.5 hrs Holiday World- 6.5 hrs I would include all those within a reasonable days drive.
  15. I wonder if they will have them running by HWN now. If they wont be on for Memorial Day weekend, that is only days before the event! Lets hope!
  16. I hope its only that someone dropped something and broke it or something similar. If that fiberglass is hollow and right where people step it seems like an obvious mistake!
  17. Williams Grove Cyclone. Enough said. There were pieces of wood missing from the track in spots! lol
  18. ^Thats cool you were just pointing it out. It made me think of the people that expect one every other year or so. The park sure has boomed installing ones quite frequently thats for sure! I am hoping when they do add one, 2011 or not that its wood. That would help round off the collection a bit since they don't have a real good one there.
  19. ^I saw no difference. They replaced some seatbelts and lap bars on both MF and TTD and they looked the same to me. Doesn't this rumor get started anytime they replace worn out belts? As for the 2011 rumors that will start going now, I love how everyone says it won't be a coaster because of what was said. Does anyone think this was said purposely? Their new for 2010 ride hasn't even opened yet so I highly doubt he would want to point out that its a coaster (if it is) and take some attention from what they are opening now. I also got a kick out of the person who said earlier in this thread that "CP hasn't got a coaster since 2007" as if thats a long time ago! lol
  20. No one here has mentioned the Boat Chute at Lake Winnie yet (although it may not be a "flume" but still!). Has anyone been on it before? It is certainly not the best but it has the longest black tunnel ever on it! The lift and drop itself look homemade and thats probably because its been around since the 1920s! Here is a pic with the final splash and you can see the tunnel off to the side....
  21. Just had to laugh that you are comparing Twilight to the Bible! lol
  22. ..and most of the time it's a bunch of bitchy teenagers who know nothing! Seriously, if this ride was made by a different company and had the same delay, no one would say a thing about it! Its a freakin water ride that is opening a whole two weeks late, during a time when the forecast is in the 50s and 60s! Calm down!
  23. Lets see.... Hades Beast Grizzly @ KD Voyage (Triple down tunnel) SROS @ SFNE (havent been on Bizarro version) Maverick Loch Ness Monster Dragon Mountain (I almost forgot about this one!)
  24. I was wondering if the other half of the resort would ever be finished! I'm sure this will be much more popular than rooms themed to the 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s like I believe that side was supposed to be (although 50s would be cool!).
