I had my first trip ever to the Texas parks planned a week and a half from now. I just canceled the entire Texas part, keeping just the first stop on the trip, SDC. At least Outlaw Run will be up and running in pitch black darkness. I'm not going to drive all the way from Chicago to Texas and not get to ride what we went all that way for. Hopefully we will get another shot at it next year. I figured if the Darien Lake Ride of Steel was down for two weeks over a death for which the reason was blatantly obvious, they won't get these back open any quicker. Nice comparison with the train accident btw!

Did anyone else ever notice that anytime something like this happens they use the worst ever handheld POV ever of the ride? I'm guessing they do this to make the ride look more dangerous instead of opting for the mounted POV. All that media does with everything is sensationalize it to scare the public. How many times do you see a report with the line "what you don't know may kill you"? Yeah, 1 in 250 million. I MAY win the lottery too.

Rolling Thunder and Viper coexisted for one season. Both of their entrances were located right next to each other approximately where the Southwest Territory sign is now. That was one long hike to the Viper station!

My guess would be for a sign. Guess we will see soon enough.

A couple of things.... Yes that is the station. It actually resembles a military hangar which uses tarps like that for the roof. You can find pictures of real ones online and someone posted a picture of one on sfgamworld too. There are no trims and if there were that doesn't mean they are going to be like Bulls because it's not Raging Bull obviously. The old skeeball is where the exit/photo booth is. Those go karts get a ridiculous amount of business now compared to the old location. Maybe some trees would help it look a bit better?

^ Yeah thats what I was thinking. When Raging Bull was built we were waiting for pictures taken on I-94 to get posted every so often!

What's funny about the construction of this ride to me is how many people on the coaster sites are "freaking out" over the theming being put in, the trains having the covers on them, the water element being added, and the opening date. Is it because the park hasn't got a major coaster since 2003? I just don't remember all the hoopla back then worrying about everything. Maybe it's because there are a lot more people on the net now or something?

^SFA is so poorly run it doesnt even deserve Iron Wolf. They have a Superman and thats probably enough for 20 years the way they run and maintain rides.

Does anyone know of a way to get a discounted 1 day ticket at BGW? I will be heading out there next month and wish I could do more than 1 day because a 2 day ticket is the same price but we dont have time. Does anyone know of any ways to get a discount? So far all I have found is the possibility of a Food Lion store having coupons. Any help would be great! Thanks!

aaaaand this is why I am not doing opening weekends anymore and am going this weekend! To be fair the weather was crap last weekend and the weather has pretty much sucked every day this spring except for a select few days. Im sure its not easy to work in constant rain and cold. I feel bad for those like the ones from Florida that go on an opening weekend. A lot of the time its packed and there are a lot of problems, not a good showing for someone who doesn't go all the time. At least for someone like me that lives 330 miles away I will go multiple times a year but if that was my only visit...yeah that would be terrible!

I used to run Viper. It runs with a fast lift the first half hour or so. Don't ask me why because we were never told but that is the way it is.

After seeing the review on Dragon I can understand now why the Prowler review wasn't so great!

I wish there was some way to get the whole water park as ERT for 2-3 hours. I like the water park but it seems to always be packed. I went for the 1st time in a couple years 2 weekends ago and only went in the wave pool and walked through the kids area because of the massive lines for everything. A dead water park (when its not like 60 degrees outside!) would be awesome!

I really think making the water park a separate admission when it has been included in admission since it opened would be a horrible idea and would look like just another money making scheme. Has any other water park been free then changed to separate admission?

I rode DT on Thursday and also saw this at the end of the ride. Though other than everyone TPR being obsessed with it I have no clue who this character is! lol As for the Maverick head banging stuff, I had that happen the first time or two I rode it but never since. Then again, I do hang on the whole ride and naturally lean into turns and stuff (meaning I don't have to think about it I just happen to do it). I wish everyone knew how to do this, they would like a lot more rides!

Yes, it's because people are stupid and ungrateful. Here's an idea, how about if the parks just don't ever build anything again? I'm amazed at the amount of stupidity posted in the last few pages. It's honestly embarrassing knowing the parks read our forums. --Robb "Way to go TPR members! Way to go!" Alvey ...and to think the complaining on this site in the last couple pages is NOTHING compared to what I have seen in a couple other places online. I left a nice message on the KI facebook about the crap people are posting on there. There was even one guy complaining he wanted a coaster like Diamondback put in....at the park that has Diamondback and its not even 2 years old! Sigh. I think everyone likes to complain about everything nowadays and thats not just in this industry thats for sure. I dont complain about rides, I complain about people!
