Why would they want gates on a ride like this? I mean, is this going to be like Pilgrim's Plunge where boats don't stop at the station and people have to board the boats while in motion or is this going to use a stop-and-go system like a coaster? -

Not particularly...Phantom's transfer track is not part of the station. Sky Rocket's transfer track is INSIDE the station basically and the track that the train sits on while it loads is the same track that will be utilized for the transfer track. I think the track will operate the same as Correcaminos: Bip Bip coaster at Parque Warner, in Madrid. The station is also the transfer track. Actuall, the whole section shifts to the left to align with the transfer section. See: Source: "NoLimitsProjects" -

The stats are like really off. I mean, even the GP will notice the thing is not 305 feet when they are in front of it. Let's hope they can fix the 305 feet and put 30,5 meters instead. As for the name, it's not bad but I blame the PR team for not making up a better name. It's not like Ednör is catchy or menacing at all. I am guessing that since the ride is a clone and La Ronde already has an invert (a good one!) they are trying to do an X2 and throw random FX around the layout like flames, fog and of course audio. Anyone knows if they are getting the new generation SLC trains on this? -
Do you think there's a chance we can see the next WingWalker going to Busch Gardens Africa? It would be a first in America so who knows. Although it is said that B&M could start making launch coasters in 2011 and given the good relationship between Busch Gardens and B&M I wouldn't be surprised if they got the prototype. After all BGA also built the first extended B&M Dive Machine and signed an exclusivity contract with B&M...

Well it doesn't necessarily have to be night, but I think from what I've experienced rides run fast at 2 times of the day: When its hot out and the lube and oil is nice and slippery, and at night, when the rails shrink with the cool weather and the rides running lean from being broken in after running all day. I've also always had a special place in my heart for Scream, its a good ride in my opinion. True. Some rides might run up to 4-5 seconds faster at certain times of the day. While this might not seem like it would make a difference it really does. BTW, I am sure most modern coasters have screens where the operator can tell what was the cycling time of the last train that went around the track.

Yet another coaster sponsored by McDonald's I thought that these red/yellow paint treatment was exclusive to Cedar Fair coasters... When is this SLC meant to open? -

Still it looks awesome. It kinda reminds me of SilverStar's first drop. The ride will probably be as trimmed as Star if not more -

They already did that when Sea Odyssey was a regular simulator. From what I have read on Spanish forums, PA have bought new projectors and new films. In fact, the original film with Sami and the Seafari submarine will no longer be screened. It has been replaced by 2 random 3D films: - Alien Safari - Ali Baba Supposedly, one of the films will be aimed at families while the other will be a more intense experience. In addition, the Park has bought 2 Halloween-themed films for Halloween season: - Enchanted Castle - Haunted Forest Such a disappointment that the current PA management are destroying what Universal brought to the Park. Sea Odyssey used to be a really immersive experience and now it will loose its character and themeing... By the way, PA is also developing a kids area themed after Sesame Street including 8 new kids rides. The area will be located behind Tami-tami (which might also be rethemed) and will feature a jet-ski, a tractor ride, some spinning rides, a kids free-fall tower and a self-operated monorail that will go around Polynesia. -
I still think this project won't go ahead. Firstly, Murcia is really close to Terra Mítica (former Paramount Park). If Paramount once left TM because the profit and visits they were expecting were not satisfying, why would they come back to the same region? After all, Paramount only invested in an SLC, the Mondial frisbee and took some of the original, most themed rides away. It's not that they did a lot for the Park yet they dumped it when they saw it was not that profitable. Secondly, Spain has too many theme parks considering it's not that big of a country. I mean, within 600 kms of coast (Mediterranean Sea) we have PortAventura, Terra Mítica and now this? Let alone Parque Warner, Isla Mágica and some other amusement parks. People over here are not used to go to parks as much as they do it in America. It just doesn't work like this yet every 5 years or so you have a new project going on. Why bother when you know most of the projects are doomed before construction? If the project gets the "thumbs up", then I'll wait and see how it turns out. In the meantime, PA is the only park with the potential to be a real competitor with Disney. Paultons Park Needs Your Help

Submited. I *really* hope this works. As someone has already said. The form was really easy to fill and with so many enthusiasts out there I wouldn't be surprised if we actually make the Edge stay. I have never been to Paulton's but it looks such a nice park. Sure it's not aimed at thrill.-seekers, but we need to bear in mind that kids and families need these "softer" parks as well. -

Still working as ride operator at Tibidabo. It's been years since I got certified to work every ride but I can mostly be found on their new coaster "Muntanya Russa", the Air Diver "Pndol" or their 4D cinema "DiDiDaDo". Can also be found occasionally selling tickets or at the Season Pass centre. -

They don't seem to be running consistently but mostly I'd say NO. It's a shame because the effect looked cool when it worked plus it sped the loading process since people were not distracted by the preshow and the train about to launch. It's the second, at least for me. No headbanging but you have the feeling that your brain has been squished and your internal organs are bleeding. Still, amazing ride! Worth at least ONE ride. I have a sort of love/hate feeling towards that ride -

It's the end of a decade as we know it....

Here are my answers: - Favorite new coaster: blueFire - Favorite new ride Huss Inverted Top Spin - Favorite new park Warner Bros. Movie World Madrid - Most memorable park moment Being at Heide Park with no one waiting for Colossos and riding as if it was an ERT session - Most memorable coaster moment The opening of Muntanya Russa, at Tibidabo - Best ERT session Dragon Khan, after park's closing. It was the DK Challenge and I think I rode for like 15 times without getting off. - Least favorite coaster Superman: Atraccion de Acero - Least favorite ride KMG Frisbees - Least favorite park Thorpe Park - Most interesting ride you've seen introduced B&M Flyers - Least interesting ride you've seen intoduced Intamin Halfpipes - Your favorite TPR moment (favorite post, trip report, video, whatever!) When TPR did their stop at Tibidabo and I was operating the Plane-on-a-Stick xD - The decade's biggest flop When Six Flags left Europe - The decade's biggest success Thorpe Park adding so many rides in like 8 years - The worst meal you've had at a park Alton Tower's Fisn'n'Chips (I felt SO ill after that) - Best park turnaround From what I've heard, might be SFMM - Worst park turnaround PA. Maybe I am biased on this one but I've witnessed the Park going downhill in terms of themeing, operations and overall experience - What was the biggest trend of this past decade? Intamin Accelerators -

^But PA already has Dragon Khan. The similarities between the two would be too noticeable to GPs. Plus, I know that Stand Ups can't perform really intense inversions since passengers are standing on their feet. Why building a limited model such a Stand up when you can have a crowd eater / pleaser like a DM or a hyper? -

Since PortAventura was acquired by Invest Industrial (former owner of Gardaland) in September, many rumours of new rides have appeared. Apparently, the park is bound to receive a new ride in 2011. The park has taken surveys at the end of the day to random guests recently. These surveys are aimed to find out what ride would be most popular among guests. Note that this survey is not open to guests' suggestions. So there are 6 options to choose from and guests are shown a picture of the ride so that they can see what it's like. The options are: - Vekoma Motorbike Coaster (this was rumoured) - Indoor coaster (something like Mummy - I guess on a lower-scale budget) - B&M Stand-UP (WTF, wasn't this type like... dead?) - 4D cinema (or possible overhaul on the existing Sea Odyssey to make it 4D) - B&M Dive Machine - Hypercoaster (it was not clear weather they meant B&M or Intamin) So, 6 options, 5 are coasters... let the speculation begin again! Personally, I would rule out the 4D cinema, the Stand Up and quite possibly the Motorbike since they already have Furius Baco... -

Hotel El Paso closed mid-season when Hotel Gold River opened to go through an extensive refurbishment. Hopefully next season all 4 hotels will be open and full. BTW, you were lucky to have Express passes for all the major rides (bar Hurakan Condor). Apparently, those days PA hit capacity and had massive queues for everything. Still, I wish you had a good time and enjoyed the new hotel, which looks amazing. -
Here's the article from a Spanish newspaper talking about the death of this teenager that died yesterday after riding the new coaster at Tibidabo, Muntanya Russa. Source: El País Translation: I am really sad this happened to this kid. He probably didn't even know he had a heart condition. My thoughts go out to his family and friends.

Daft Punk sounds awesome really. Is the track played "Harder better faster stronger"? If so, it will be my first choice when I ride some time in the not-so-near future And, what's with the LEDs on the cars? Only the front car has them? I hope they were doing lighting tests because otherwise it doesn't look too good.

I am working at Tibidabo as a ride op. You may remember the Buckets of Death, the Plane ride and such from that park. Well, I am usually operating the coaster from Vekoma that has just opened. If you come to the park, look for me! (or PM before you come lol) I'll try to upload a picture of me working on the coaster.
